It's seldom to test the video by walking but I like it as it's more controllable and consistent in comparison. Good job!
Great review. I did see a slight edge for the double AX. On the walking test, when the single got some fuzz, the double was considerably better looking. I imagine while flying the quad it will only slightly increase your natural flying perimeters that are defined by encountering fuzz.

this was a supper helpful video. Im looking to buy upgrade my antennas and couldn't decide between the double and single but after watching this i think im going with the single. there didnt seem to be that much of a difference so it wouldn't be worth the price difference to me. You did a great test edrone! I saw a slight difference in the walk test, the double was just a little bit better. Nothing to brag on lol and the flight tests the double was worse at times. I dont think its worth buying. Great video bro👊 I loved it❤❤❤❤❤

This antenna only helps in one situation - and that is if you fly in back of yourself!
You will get a MUCH better signal then because this double version is taller compared to the single version. Your head is not blocking the signal anymore.
So is it worth the extra money if you fly freestyle and cruising around? Yes, for sure. But you can also get a VAS Ethix Mad Mushroom v2 that will bring the same results.

Would be interesting on watching a test where the quad has the same antenna matching the goggles and flying the same path that you walked also putting a small fan on the quad for the VTX to mimic the air flying if that makes any sense good video keep it up👍
Good thoughts thanks for your input 👍 I do believe I will be doing another test using higher output power on the vtx and see if the results are any better or not. As far as the fan I'm not sure I would have to have it as long as I keep walking there will be some air movement to help with cooling. Stay tuned!!
Good test! I too have done quad walk tests haha. I think the best scenario for these type of deals is long range flying over open terrain rather than expecting major improvements in penetration.
We're kind of sold a belief that the antennas can help get through everything but sometimes there's just not much improvement left due to the limits of 5.8. More often than not we're flying off reflections.

It looks like that double axii makes it a little better, I think vtx on 1000 mw might show a bigger difference through a bunch of trees, Ill probably grab one because any extra edge on video helps me alot

I think I would've also flown a straight line flight out as far as you could w/ little obstruction. I mean they're long range so I would be curious if they could throw the signal noticeably further.

Wonder if you will get better results with the double antenna on the quad as well as the goggles? I was just looking at these. And I’m will to pay the premium if it makes a difference.
I'm sure putting one of those on the quad would make a little bit more of a difference however if you're gonna be flying freestyle it's gonna be sticking out quite a bit and prone to getting damaged if you're doing long range flying I would highly recommend using it as you won't be bashing it as hard

I personally love the axii antennas, but with this double axii, don’t they claim something like a 5dbi gain? If that is the case I probably won’t buy them since I’m currently using a pagoda antenna that is a 5dbi gain. What’s your take on that? As I said though. I do love axii antennas
I'll be sticking with a single axii's I used to use pagodas but found that the lumiere Performed slightly better
edrone you won’t get any argument outta me on this lol. I love axii antennas and they’re in all but one of my quads. That one has the pagoda. They all work great for me at least so far and have all been really durable

@@edrone_ Nice to hear! I am fairly new to fpv drones and chose to buy two of them together with my Scout HD goggles and a race v2 vtx with an ax2 on the transmitter side. Unfortunately I could not test them so far because I am still waiting for my controller and micro v2 cam to be shipped :/

I have not. I do use these with HDZERO and my Rapidfire module for analog though and I have been happy with them.

I think for only ten dollars more it would be worth it.
This kind of made my mind up. Not worth the 30 bux in my opinion
I think an extra 15 bucks is nothing. For the amount of money we invest in fpv, $15 would be well worth it for extra video signal. Although the price wouldn't discourage me, i still wouldn't buy the double bc from what I've seen here, it doesn't live up to it's claim. I would probably pay $100 for double range, but this product isn't there
So if I used 2 of the doubles in diversity I'd have 4 omni poles active technically?!
Well in diversity you would be switching between the two antennas but if you use in rapidfire mode 1 then you would be using a combination of both antennas at once
Three is no difference and at times, it's worse. An additional issue is more weight.

@@mhoovair89 I always make sure that the lenses are never in direct sunlight sometimes I will have the front of the goggles in direct sunlight but I always keep the lenses in the shade

what about if you only have a single ..say and older goggles without diversity ?
I would say you would want the best antenna you could get for a single antenna goggle I would use the double
