You need to pass those fields every single day for 2 months, and pay close attention while driving and while not crashing... or else just watch this video !
Can you imagine in the long past some guy who rake dead and dry tobacco leaves and treat it like usual garbage and lit them in fire and decided that the smell is good enough for a hobby
Tobacco was used for medicinal and spiritual reasons by native Americans in the past and then European colonists just started smoking it for whatever reason it's commonly smoked today
Native Americans were already smoking it from pipes and cigars long before the Europeans found them and adopted the hobby. They were even stuffing the stuff into logs and fermenting it to make it better. The origins of perique. My favorite condiment tobacco. Europeans did not invent smoking tobacco.
@@thorny3218 my point still stand though. Some native Americans taking some leaves for campfire fuel and noticed that it smell good and it feel good (the nicotine)
Looks like you grew with inadequate light and possibly nutrients if you didnt fertilize once or twice during the grow. Also looking at the leaves you may have kept the soil a little too moist. Tobacco plants like a lot of water but need the soil to not be wet all the time. Also this looks like nicotiana obtusifolia which is not a tobacco that one would smoke, but does make a pretty ornamental. That said, i enjoyed the timelapse video, it was lovely.
Your setup look to work really well! Can i ask you 3 questions? Do you leave the light 24/24? What is the distance between the plant and the light? What kind of soil are you using? Thank you
He used Mars Hydro before and said somewhere to use dirt made for herbs and lights are always on! Distance seems to be around half meter to one meter on higher plants like sunflower.
It sprout up in my garden. I didn’t know what it was until my phone said it is tabaco; that’s why I came here to see how a tabaco plant looks. And, certainly it is.
J. L Hudson, seedsman has a collection of them under the scientific name “ nicotianna” or something like that. Some are for flowers, others for smoking. You can Google the name to see the online catalog. He also issues a yearly paper catalog and supplements once a year, but you have to send him three, four dollars or so to cover postage. Not really sure of the suggested amount. No photos of plants but a detailed description, some line drawings of plants. Plants are under scientific names, not common names. Interesting reading. Think some if not most of the seeds are organic, sometimes it is stated. Hope this helps…
Wish my tobacco seedlings would grow so fast. They don't, although temperature and climate and soil are good. Beautiful video but somewhat unrealistic. In real, they grow a lot slower and you need lots of patience
Timelapses. A camera takes one continuous video or a series of photos for long periods of time, and the footage is sped up through editing programs. Most of the footage on this channel is months or even years old.
Some carcinogens are natural parts of the tobacco plant itself, and some are formed when tobacco is burned or during processing, curing, ageing, or storing, such as benzene, formaldehyde and tobacco-specific nitrosamines, to mention few.
I heard the flowers are fragrant. I detest the smell of cigarette smoke but I like smelling them while unlit. I imagine the flowers smell similar but more intensely fragranced.
@@nunyabiznes33 yes the nicotiana tobacum may have some fragrance but nicotiana rustic the variety shown in this video and the varity I have planted does not produce any significant fragrance.
