I was thinking the same, but then thought of expired tires. Maybe they're just too old to be sold?

@@dimitriusritzel2643 generally 10years is considered used up. Compounds start breaking down at that point. As always there is a huge range of time until the tire is actually usless based on manufacturer formulations.
On tires sold in U.S. markets (probably all markets) look for a 4 digit code molded into the sidewall. Code is usually inside an oval. Codes are first two digits are the week of the year and last two are the year code.
Hella cool shoes though, and I don't even like sandals.

It is actually like tires sandals in Cu Chi, Vietnam. It is very durable. Saving tires, i love that. We also use old tires to make flower pots, swings,...hundred of things.
