Hey Persolaise , loving the content as always!! I think affordable to me is £1 per ml , so £100 for 100ml and £2 per ml for an exclusive luxury fragrance I save up for or ask my partner for Christmas or birthday!! 😊 I really want to get Santal blush as I loved it when I tried it last but not sure I can justify £220 for just 50ml!! (£4 per ml is just greedy I feel and prices out vast amounts of people who love their fragrances like myself). I got Spice blend last year which admittedly was £220 but at least I got a decent 110ml bottle so I can enjoy for a while 😊
That’s a hefty price tag. Glad I picked up Black Orchid (not everyone’s cup of tea, I know) and Noir de Noir a few years back before prices went up. Don’t think I see any Tom Ford purchases in my future. I’d say around £150 is affordable for 100ml, £200 if the quality’s there. The only costly purchase I’m considering is SL Une Fille en Aiguilles. Smells like Christmas to me so worth it
Great video, as always! In an absolute sense, I think anything around €25 that used to be €100 is affordable. I’m thinking of all the fragrances that have nowadays come down in price, like Calvin Klein‘s Obsession. In a relative sense, I think any discount of 35% or more is affordable, with a maximum of about €250 after the discount.
Dior Bois D'Argent is my grail myrrhe scent. TF is not the same brand as it used to be, to me at least. If i could only have the original private blend line up...one can wish...
Apologies for this comment being unrelated but is Oriza L. Legrand on your radar? Couldn't find it on the blog but would love to hear your thoughts. Have a good day!
Yes, almost succumbed to buying one but held off until I saw more reviews so yours was timely for me. TF also re-released some of their older fragrances in Flacons such as Arabian Wood, Velvet Gardenia, Jonquille de Nuit, etc which are currently priced at 2,000 dollars have also shown up in the CCS stores and are priced at 1,000 dollars.
I just managed to get the 250ml from TF online (uk) on sale, half price and got the atomiser free too. I think it’s a fab scent, sits close but is really nice. I get a slight Tobacco Vanille vibe. At half price I was very happy.
Is the price of natural ingredients going up, is that driving some of these price increases? Or just the marketing. The max I could pay for a fragrance is 200 USD, but I have to love it. I'd consider 50 to 75 as reasonable for a quality fragrance.
Well, I guess the fact is that the price of *everything* has gone up: transport, storage, energy. But has it all gone up by a factor that justifies this level of price increases...? Who knows?
perhaps we should start talking about price as per ml. 3 to 5 dollars per ml is expensive but acceptable for me on occasion. more than 5 is just absurd.
To answer your question, for me affordable (as in I don't think twice about the price) is up to 150 GBP for 100 ml. Then how much I'm willing to spend at most is about 500 GBP for 100 ml, but I have yet to find anything that I like and costs that much, because at that price range you mostly get nonsense with over the top packaging. As for the myrrh, it is more a frankincense and doesn't have any of the distinctive facets of myrrh like the anisic or sulfurous.
Thank you all! 🎂
Happy Birthday! Do anything special?
Hope you had a great day!
Thanks for mentioning La Myrrhe. Aldehydic myrrhe sure sounds fascinating. I will try and find it.
Oh, it's a must-try.

Many thanks for this. It's interesting reading everyone's take on 'affordable'.

I love that Lutens too.
Speaking of price points - I cannot wait for your review of Posh Spice's new fragrance line, $290 a piece 😁
That clip of her husband calling her out for pretending to grow up "working class" really gets me 😂
I wonder if I might be able to get some samples.

That's an interesting way of looking at it -- thank you.

Thank goodness some of the original PBs are still around.

Sorry, I'm afraid I don't know very much about that brand.
I'd recommend trying their Box of 6 samples, you can choose whichever fragrances you fancy. Thanks again for the wonderful content Mr. P .
Myrrhe Mystere has already shown up in the CCS stores in the states including the 250ml Flacon. Flacon is selling for 699.00 dollars in these stores…
Oh my goodness - really??!

Gosh -- 50% is a good discount. Well done.
@@Persolaise Thank you , I was really pleased. Picked up Soleil Brulant half price as well!

Wow, Black Afghano I am wearing today.
Excellent!
I find my usual rule of 1 euro per ml (for cheap/affordable) constantly challenged nowadays, event with online distributors
Yes, I'm not surprised.

Yes, it can be helpful to break it down per ml.
I am glad that I knew Tom Ford when was worth it.
Thanks very much for watching.
I found this unremarkable. Your description however reminds me of the Oscar Wilde short story, 'The Sphinx Without a Secret'.
Oh, I’m not sure I’ve ever read that one. Thanks for mentioning it.
It’s pretty unique, I’m picky and I like it, worth $395 at Neimans? HELL NO
It is very expensive.
Your description of synthetic sandalwood versus legitimate sandalwood (around 8:11 in the video) is the best of its kind that I've encountered.
Oh wow -- thank you!

Thanks very much for this. There seems to be a general feeling that around £1.00-£1.50 per ml counts as affordable.
For me, anything that’s around $1 per ml is affordable. Less than that would be cheap as chips.
Thanks very much for writing.
i consider about $75/100ml the top end of affordable.
Good to know, thanks.
reminds me of Ebene Fume mixed with Santal Blush.
I need something original please.
Thanks very much for watching.
No more TF a this price.
This really is expensive.
They become incredibly affordable pretty soon. Picked this up in a 50ml for $105
But does it come in a liter size?…who really NEEDS MEDICAL INSURANCE😂😳😱
Ha! Who indeed?
Ultravanille accord -> Ultravanil Givaudan
You may well be right.
Basically Tom Ford Meh no mystère
You could say that.
you can get real oud real sandwood natural perfumes less than this. getting ripped off for a bunch of synthetics
Thanks very much for watching.
They use barely use a small percentage of oils of those lol
@@daniell5740 true but still cheaper than buying a fully. Synthetic Tom ford perfume
