Very often forgotten but very vocal meatriders are definitely Burial and other UK dubstep fans, I don't even need to elaborate we've all seen the "all my homies hate Skrillex" video. Their meatridin reaches to a nationalist degree, they're meatriding not only their favorite artist but their specific subgenre of a subgenre of a region on Garbage Island.

It was an interesting video from someone who was unfamiliar with the history of dubstep, and I do like how the old stuff sounds.
There’s legit some people that think Skrillex started dubstep, and that will have a stroke if you tell them that Sonny actually started his career as a scene kid.

I was around when Crystal Castles were in their prime but I've never heard of them until years later but 100 Gecs I heard of because their fans won't stop going around saying how they're the best artists in the world lol.

Aphex Twin deserves the recognition. That dude has done incredible work in a time where it was hard to even operate the equipment to put such innovative music together. Aphex Twin puts soul into the cold, logical world of electronic music

Hot Take, but Daft Punk should be up here. Their fans treat them like literal gods who invented electronic music and everyone after them was just inspired.
Completely ignores or never heard of electronic music pre 1997,. Has this warped perspective of them being home grown when in reality they were set from the start with a recording studio and equipment given in their teens. And you know how they kind of stole songs like robot rock under the guise of “sampling”
I don’t hate daft punk personally since they got me and tons of others into electronic music, but their fans act like they were the first and best to do anything.

When i think of boards of canada fans i either think of some gen X who's into psychedelics and "was there" when the big warp records artists were doing albums and shows in the 90s, or a paranoid conspiracyhead who's kinda freaked out by Geogaddi's backmasked vocals, or some Gen Z who was into creepypasta as a kid and ARGs and also got into geogaddi for that reason or because the fanmade music videos he stumbled upon looked "so vaporwave". what they all have in common is that they might not be the loudest meatriders outside of their bubble but they're so obsessed and hungry for any new music they will have entire webpages and forums dedicated to researching some old 1989 shit mixtape the band did for their now defunct granny that they only believe it exists because there's this 25 second snippet that resurfaced in soulseek in the early 2000s.

Skrillex, Martin Garrix, Alan Walker, And after that everything kinda melted into this UA-cam music promoter channel bs with aviencloud and suicidesheep. I’ve lived through it all to tell the tales.
It was proof positive you can be astroturfed by agencies and have all your music ghost written for you and still become famous to sub 80 IQ fanbases. The suits couldn't let Dubstep, an underground movement that popularized sub bass, sound rigs and vinyl get a foothold in the states. So thats why they misnomered Skrillex/Boregore/Excissions music as "dubstep" when all it has in similarity is 140bpm. Literal mall music mastered for phone speakers.

I loved their chopped and screwed style. I did lots of drugs to that band back in the day. and I mean bad drugs, like crack. I will say this; they do that sound well enough to make smoking crack to it seem like a good idea. (I'm 10 years clean now)
