@@RynReads I think you may have been thinking of Circe or Song of Achilles. Those are both based on Greek mythology but are newer releases and are big on book tube. I didn’t like the Iliad but The Odyssey (also by Homer) is fantastic!
I was taught both Iliad and Odyssey at school centuries ago 😂 and I can easily say that odyssey is much better! The story and the plot are amazing, we had dove into the details and it all made more sense to me!
I just went on a thrift store book haul and came out with a whole shopping cart of 85 books for $109. Which inspired me to search UA-cam for other people’s thrift store book haul videos and here I am. Funny, I just got Romeo & Juliet and the Scarlet Letter today also. I LOVE finding classic books and books that are 50yrs old+.
The classic books you brought are amazing. I love older books, especially when tattered. I really need to get some Jane Austen as well as more classics. Being a mom of 3 teens they will need to read them in high school.
Decided to comment when I saw you describe the Iliad by Homer (and ask what's the last name and look for the publication date 🙂). Glad to see you with the classics. When I saw what you were picking up in Goodwill it looks like a bunch of parents cleaned out their children's rooms when they became empty nesters. A lot of the books look like books I was required to read in high school. Including that very same edition of The Great Gatsby that you held up. Glad to see the classics making their way to new readers.
@@RynReads I was inspired to go thrifting for books today thanks to your video and picked up 5 books (Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Chrysalids by John Wyndham, The Rez Sisters by Thomson Highway, Animal Farm by George Orwell, and a cool art book called Cowgirl Rising)!
I love “Fahrenheit 451”, Ray Bradbury wrote it in 9 days which it is obviously flawed but the concept is very intriguing and an interesting spin on the career of a “firefighter” I think it’s a must read in classic utopia literature it gives me a little bit of “1984” by George Orwell vibes honestly great pick ups all around 👍
the cover of les miserables is of the French flag and it’s colors , not a rainbow effect; it’s based in France partly about a rebellion that happened in Paris. Really good book finds 👍
My secondary school/high school French teacher gave me my copy of Romeo and Juliet but we didn’t read it for an assignment she just had books she wanted to get rid of
I love buying books at salvation army....they hav books for 79 cents setes less in good condition and your not alone I'm constantly buying books I love it ❤️. New Sub 🤗
Haha thank you! It’s sweater weather again so back to wearing it everyday! I got it from littleriverco 😁 (also, I can’t wait for part 2 of season 4!😮💨)
Love your videos! Homers, The Iliad was written around 800 BC! It's one of the oldest works of western literature. Definitely not a new release 🥲
Interesting, and Thank You!!!

I’m intrigued with some of your selections!! Some of those are typically high school reading, impressive that you picked them up at your leisure!
i'm sorry but she held up Homer and called it a new release I- 💀
Yea, I got it mixed up with ‘Song of Achilles’ 🙃
i was so shocked
I got a good laugh!

@@gabrielle_vx Awesome! I definitely want to read ‘Animal Farm’ sometime in the future, lmk how it goes 😃
I read Animal Farm last week and it felt VERY relevant. It was a quick read, under 100 pages. Would definitely recommend reading!
