The 3M tape that is use is also pressure sensitive, meaning by applying pressure it activates the glue. So, when installing, push on it hard and hold for as long as possible then tape it as you did. The cure time is at least 24 hours, so I would leave the painters tape on for 1-2 days or longer if you don't need to drive your car.
Nice spoiler however what concerns me is there’s very little 3M tape holding it down, you look at the Tesla version it has twice the amount of tape a spoiler in the back of a car is subject to a lot of pressure coming off the back, one small piece of tape is not gonna hold it down over time. It’s also interesting that RPM tesla disables the comments on their UA-cam videos.
Hey Mark, apprecaite the review. Can't wait to get my spoiler. By chance, do you have a link of where you got your carbon fiber door handles? They look great
Great info nice install however one piece of 3M tape is highly insufficient it’ll eventually break away from the vehicle I’m surprised that they only use one piece, its a deal breaker for me.
Urgent: You can buy many colours in plastic or simple carbon for Tesla 3. My question is can you get chrome type spoiler? You can buy other decorative parts in chrome like tailgate trim, side antiscrach door trim but I never found that spoiler?
My experience with RPMTesla is just like yours, hence, I'll NEVER buy from them again. I ordered something from China off of wish 3 days after I ordered from RPM and I got it in 8 days! Still waiting from RPM with no communication and that Arrive tracking is terrible IMO.
Great video Mark. RPM Tesla's site actually has some videos on how to install it, which include the actual measurements from the edge of the spoiler to the left and right edges of the trunk. Their video also mentions cure time, which if memory serves me, was about 72 hours. I'm planning on getting one from RPM Tesla too really soon. Had my Blue Model 3 for nearly 1 year now. The wait is going to be killer though.
Thanks! Yeah I didn’t even think to go back after receiving it. Almost forgot about it haha I did just get a new spoiler shipped tonme from wjm. amzn.to/32DNgUv I am working on finding someone with a car to install it on and compare the two.
Thanks for the video. The long wait time is crazy.. found a Oem factory spoiler on Craigslist but the tape is missing. Any idea how I could get it reapplied or even possible? It was used for a week then removed.

This is the best instructional vid. Thank you Mark, I will be following this when I get mine.

Professionals actually preheat the painted metal surface to facilitate the adhesion. So under the sun is hardly an issue.

Those were just an amazon find. I believe that they dontmake them anymore but someone else does
I ordered the spoiler 11/12/2021 and got it 11/20/2021 so I guess nowadays their supply issues are good. I got the matte carbon fiber spoiler
I’m not very practically minded and I thought this video was ace. Waiting for the tesla!

How is it holding with one strip of 3M tape? It's my only reservation regarding this spoiler, then again you can add some tape if needed
Thank you for good information. I was wondering, Is spoiler helps for range? if yes, I would like to order right now. haha
How is the spoiler doing after 2 years? did the edges start lifting?
Still good. No lifting. I’m about to take it off for a wrap

Hi Mark, thanks for the video. After 6 plus months how's the spoiler looking? Any fading of the colors and how is the 3m tape holding up? Thanks!
Clean and good. 3m is perfect
@@MarkDickinson hey how about after 2 years

Yeah Same with me. THey said on its way I believe in a one line reply
Any issues in quality since you installed it? Thanks

Mark Dickinson Why did you order another one?

You can Find some automotive 3m adhesive strips. I’d try that :)
Is that blue tape especial for car paint?
Hey I thought oem was matte finish?
I believe it may be.
It takes a long time to get it. 10 days and has not shipped yet.
How do I get rid of tape mark?
Did you see any gap issues on the bottom of the spoiler?
None
Is it possible to DIY spray paint the spoiler too?
Sure I’d do it with plasti cote
Good video thx
Sergio Restrepo thanks Sergio.
Thanks for video!!
Bought one , hope the spoiler stays on at 115 + mph ?
I had it to 120. Still there. Lol let it cure a bit
such an expert, not...
Big Jeep lol. Jeeps don’t get spoilers.
Wow don’t hate. I got a lot of tips from this video as it’s very informative
