  • I share my first impressions review of the Colorlab brush pack for Procreate by RetroSupply Co. I love the vintage tools RetroSupply creates. I finally decided to get the ColorLab brush pack for Procreate and try it out.
    I share what ColorLab is, artwork examples from other artists like Ramen Banks, how to create the vintage comic-book effect, and I show you the first couple of drawings I create in Procreate. In this Procreate drawing tutorial, I use an iPad Pro 9.7 inch.

    Thanks for the great video. I would encourage you to do more videos featuring RetroSupply Color Lab. I think this tool is under appreciated and I think a young person like you could garner a larger audience by creating a mini-course around Color Lab. Think about it!

      Thanks for the tip, I will! I’m still practicing and learning the tool but I think it will be valuable to share what I learn along the way. I love the tool, super unique and unlike anything else out there.

    Can you tell me what Texture brush are you using to create the vintage looks?

      Most of them are free ones from RetroSupply, I think they send out 10 or so when you sign up for a mailing list

    Hi! Great video! One thing that I don’t understand is that why do we have to use a combination of red, blue, yellow to make a new colour? I know they are the primary colours but can’t we just choose say a shade of green that we want from the colour palette and call it a day?? I’m sure it’s a useful tool but I don’t really get the point of ColorLab. :/

      That’s a great point. I think it has to do with the way the colors multiply over each other. But you could try it, see what happens! I’m not sure it would work though. It’s best if you like the comic book or vintage illustration style, which uses a limited color palette. If you’re not into that style then it’s probably not the best tool for you.

    Tutorial for Photoshop?

    • @monicasdesignprocess
      @monicasdesignprocess  3 роки тому +1

      For RetroSuppy or in general? I don’t have / use the photoshop brushes. Kind of expensive to buy ColorLab for all the various programs but I might try it out someday! I just happen to prefer how easy it is to draw with an Apple Pencil on an iPad vs a mouse on the computer. Have you tried them for photoshop?

      @@monicasdesignprocess I use a graphics tablet to make the Illustrations, I have ColorLab in the Photoshop version and I am exploring this new acquisition, I confess that I am a bit confused to create the right palettes and install everything correctly, unfortunately I did not find any tutorial upgraded to the Photoshop version :/
