After 5 horrific years of drought in California from 2012-2016, 2017 brought an enormous snowpack leading to one of the best kayaking years in Kern River kayaking history.

I have been camping and fishing on The Kern for over forty years. It’s sad to see the river low like last summer. The fishing is bad when the water is so low. I’m hopeful we get rain and lots of snow. I love The Kern. …..Great video. 👍
