Great idea, I have plenty of blank decal sheets. The canopy framework will sometimes keep me from building certain models. I must try this today. Thank you.
Masking & Painting Canopy or clear parts I use the following, bond for woodworking (aqueous vinyl acetate resin type emulsion type adhesive) use Coloring with watercolor paint is possible. Apply thickly, spread using a thin bar and surface tension. After painting drying, it becomes easier to peel off when warmed up
Absolutely brilliant tip-so much better and cleaner lines than using masking fluid(or maybe just me!!!). Thank you very much for that

Yes, canopy thickness is a factor with this technique.
Can you do a video on . Decal setting solution residue removal .I always get it .it's impossible to remove once dried..
I always and only use soapy water and a q-tip, gently rubbing the residue away.

Well in this case you can try kitchen/general purpose degreaser
