    I never could get a clean edge on the light "dish", when doing them your way. I use sprue...heat it, and stretch it to the desired thickness, cut it and use a drill bit to "dish" it out (great for small scale)
    For the clear cover...heat the clear plastic...pull it over the leading edge of the wing, just a little ways away from the light(thinner portion of wing). This way, the clear part is already in shape, and the outside dimensions will match what's needed.

    I do something similar but I use epoxy putty for the light housing, sequins for the light reflectors as they come in many colours and pva glue to give a glass effect.

    What were you using for the transparent part? Acetate like a transparent printer sheet for an overhead projector? Or something else?

      Acetate sheed for document or paper binding - A4 size

    i wondered how you were going to do the lamp reflectors, very clever using old foil like that!

    Can the punch not be used to cut the circle as opposed to the scissor?

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  3 місяці тому

      If you have appropriate size punch I guess there should be no problem.

    I run fiber optic cable of various sizes and colour for landing lights and dashboard lights down through landing legs to light source under plinth of diorama

      @Judson Layton i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
      Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

    if I have multiple wires going together along the same path, (multi-core wires) for LEDs, do I need shielded wires or just normal wires should be fine?

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  4 роки тому

      What do you mean shielded? With insulation? Yes, who knows what can happen once you close them in.

    • @syncprism6283
      @syncprism6283 4 роки тому +1

      @@MMScaleModels Nah not insulation I was thinking about those alluminium foil shielding around the wire cores. found out being unnecessary.

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  4 роки тому

      I think you are right... I think they have anti-interferance purposes and are not necessary for such application.

      MM Scale Models thanks! The thing is that when I went to Poland I found Kropelka, that is a CA glue made in my country Uruguay called "La gotita" wich means "little drop".
      Yours seems to be the same but the name is in your language. Please check were it's made, just for curiosity!
      Best regards!

    Nice job ! But too much work ! I'd do this. B4 the wings r together I'd fill both top and bottom of them flat with filler and sand pretty smooth put wings together and get my dremmal tool out and slowly carefully notch out the light then find a large piece of clear sprue shape aand cut a couple things clear rounds for actuall lights ! Pretty well done at that point

    Wonderful tutorial - top notch skills - BUT - My brain can't function listening to that "Muzak" - sometimes no sound is better than brain piercing white - type - noise, that also sounds like a children's educational program :)

    I was confused!😳
    Most aircraft kits already have the landing light gap so I can see adding reflectors.

    Instead of the stupid music, which REALLY REVED UP MY MIGRAINE, DAY 5, I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED YOU TO INSTRUCT, VERBALLY, WHAT YOU'RE DOING. THE SCALE IS SMALL WHEN YOU ARE WATCHING THROUGH A SMART PHONE AND A MIGRAINE. BE BETTER WITH VERBAL INSTRUC. AS WELL. JUS' SAYIN'.

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  7 років тому +1

      Thanks for your feedback. If you check my latter tutorials you will hear verbal instructions. It is not so easy to develop a youtube channel.
