Bula i watched this because my partner is half fijian and has family in fiji instantly caused me to miss being back there i absolutely love fijian food and everything is fresh from the garden what a fine life.
Hahahaha Cola Vina Bro. Lovely Cooking, Delicious Mouth Watering Food and best of all the commentary. IT HELPS PUT YOUR CHOLESTEROL UP TOO WHICH IS VERY NICE WAHAHAHAHAHA.
One trick that work is nipping the sharp front end of the leaves. This is where most of the itchy stiff is stored, especially if leaf is a bit hard. For soft leaves it wont matter so much but still a good idea to nip of the pointy 1/2" in the front
Excellent recipe and narration Narayan...loved the accent...and the fact that you initially boiled onions etc in a small amount of very hot water. Will certainly try this. :)
Jess Sharp You can use spinach instead of Taro. If using fresh then chop real fine. Or frozen works just as well. Cook for much less time and add some lemon juice.
Bro your next dish could be rourou with lamb pieces in coconut milk.......just a suggestion.....I know you can cook ....nothing is impossible with a Fijian chef....Vinaka bro
Wooow aammazing, we’ll presented and very simple.

Could you use spinach instead of Taro leaves? or is it not the same? I could not find taro leaves here in Tauranga. Thanks:)
