So I wasn't into this at first, then she touched on something I thought about every time I was tired or sick and didn't want to cook. Jonathan would say I'll cook babe, "no that's ok, I got it!" Insert snotty attitude... Then I would use that against my family "I do everything, no one does anything for me..." Holly absolutely delivered God's word. Recent tragedy renewed my faith, and excercising my faith in God opened me up to receive His word. This spoke to me, I hear you! Praise God

I needed to hear this. Made me cry and listened to it to work and on the way home again. I was struggling so much over a several months asking my husband and 4 adult children to pray God would give me direction. One of my sons sent this to me. Luke 6:38
give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."
1)GIVE and it will be given
Give : Rationally not only financially like serving, loving, encouraging(heart and soul of our relationships)
{We only want or expect from others}
One place to start with is "Give what you want"
Jesus said "forgive and you will be forgiven" - Matthew 6:14
YOU WANT RESPECT ? GIVE RESPECT
GIVE GIVE GIVE
DONT WAIT FOR THE FEELINGS TO COME - YOU HAVE TO DO IT IN OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST.
Jesus didn't die on the cross cause "He felt like doing it" - He acted in obedience to what He was called to do on the earth.
Philippians 2:8:11
Says he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death.
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We are not reducing God to a formula " Give what you want" - like "hey God last week I got Starbucks for everyone at work, when are they gonna get my latte?" STOP! Look around and see how you can bless others.
*When you are giving make sure your motives are in the right place - When i am serving to be served, when I am giving to receive - then I am doing it all for the wrong reason.*
JESUS TOLD US TO GIVE WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN. *SOMETIMES I REALLY HAVE TO CHECK MYSELF* - Why I'm I doing all this stuff? 🧐
Why I'm I bringing Starbucks for everyone at work? Is it because I want everybody to love me? Or is it because I'm generous? 🧐
*WHEN IM WALKING AROUND ANNOUNCING ALL THE THINGS THAT IM DOING - IM JUST CREATING STRESS FOR MYSELF - CAUSE IT DOESN'T ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING*
Sometimes when iam given to others it is like I'm trying to take control over them. Sometimes I'm just running around doing stuff just for people to notice how busy iam. Any people will be like " wow she is a very nice person " *IF* those are the reasons why iam giving - they are all wrong motives.
GOD IS INTO OUR MOTIVES. He rewards us according to our motives.

Elisha and the Shunammite women - wealthy women
The bible tells us that whenever prophet Elisha comes to the town she would have him in her home for a meal. And one day she tells her husband "let us build a room for this prophet, he is a man of God and he comes here often so that he can stay here whenever he comes." So she did it that she put in great details in the room. HER MOTIVES WERE PURE. She simply wanted to bless the prophet and we know this because the prophet came to her and said "you've gone into all this trouble for me,what can info for you" and guess what she said to him - I'M GOOD - He said "no, no I can go to the king and make a request to the commander of the army" and she said "No I'm good, I have a house among my people" - SHE SAW A NEED AND GAVE IT OUT IN ABUNDANCE. Sometimes we give out of obedience, other times we see a need and get really excited about it and we wanna give to that person either way - as long as our motives are right - then we will be reward.
2) Give and IT will be given to you.
God us our heavenly father and he sees us and he wants to reward us, He promises to reward us but WHAT IS THE *IT"* GIVEN *IT* will be given to you?
When I give, when I serve, when I love, when I forgive "What is given to me?" And this is the answer GIVE WHAT YOU WANT AND YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU NEED and the thing is that GOD KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED today. He knows you need acceptance, he knows you need encouragement, he knows you need a miracle in your marriage or in your relationships. Sometimes *IT* is the very thing that I gave. Other times *when you give, God meets a deeper need inside of you.*
He gives you something that - maybe you gave up a long time ago and that's what is happening in our story of the Shunammite woman. The prophet Elisha wasn't satisfied with her answer, he was determined to do something for her and he found out from another person that she had never had any children and so he told the women "this time, next year you will hold a son in your arms". You know what she said ? "No, no please don't say that to me if it is not true".
I'd like to think that maybe she had prayed for years for a child and then somewhere along the way she had just given up on having a son. But you see God brought back to life that very desire in her because if her gift. *It's the thing that you gave, sometimes it's the thing that you gave up on, Sometimes God gives you things that you didn't even know that you needed.*
{Forgiveness is an act of the will - it's not an emotion, it's not a feeling -Access something you didn't know you had because you did something you didn't want to do - like you wanna forgive someone but u just can't and u make a tiny prayer and god fills you with his love and you can just forgive them}
Sometimes when you give, God blesses you with something you didn't even know you need it.
*GIVE WHAT YOU WANT AND YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU NEED.*
3) give and it will be *GIVEN*
We must come to understand that God is the GIVER
*True fulfillment doesn't come from my relationship with others. It comes from my relationship with God. He may bless me through others but my true fulfillment comes from my relationship with God.*
Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
We just come to a realization that when we are serving others we are actually not serving the people in our life but we are serving God himself.
The bible doesn't promise "you do for them, they'll do for you", the Bible tells us that God is the GIVER - He is the one ultimately that iam serving, He is the one that gives me the strength to serve and he is the one that rewards me.
If you are giving so that others will see you, or others will need you - you've missed the whole point - Because the reward is so much deeper than that and when I truly understand that the one Iam serving is God I can be set free from the need to be noticed by others and that's the whole essence of this message today - that when I truly understand that God is the one whom I'm serving then I can find 100 clothes of laundry without anybody thanking me, that I can go an extra mile for a friend because ultimately iam doing it for JESUS.
Luke 6:35 says
But love ye your enemies, and do good and lend, *hoping for nothing in return;* and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest; for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
WHY DON'T YOU BE THE NEED METER? GOD IS THE ONE WHO IS SUPPLYING ALL OF YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES AND GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS.
WHEN YOU GIVE, YOU RECEIVE AND GOD IS THE GIVER OF EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT.

I know that this series is for me and this word is for me. She was just finished talking about giving the very thing that we need and I paused the video. I prayed to God asking him to not send me people to encourage me (the thing I have been asking God for, for a while) but rather help me to encourage others even when I feel that I am lacking in it myself. Literally a few second after I resumed the video and she said, "By encouraging someone, I recieve encourage ment." I couldn't help but thank God in that moment. 🙏🏾

I mean right on time with every single issue, feeling, & situation I am currently going through. I have felt lost for a few months now and yes sulking and drowning in it all. I am my own prisoner of Offense. I just want to thank you both for what do; speaking and reaching out to all those in need. This was an amazing talk. I typically am the giver; however, lately I feel like I am running on empty. I am listening to this series because I am barely hanging on a thread in my relationship with my three year olds dad. I have been cheated on multiple times. My relationship with God with the promise of prayer and church has been used to pull me back in with no or little follow through. I have been given a ring with the promise of marriage and been told they didn't mean it, they were kidding, they were drink, etc after I give in. Three have been so many other things as well. Through all of this there is still part if me looking for answers in my Lord.
Before my three year old I had miscarriages, one of which I almost died. I was on birth control when I got pregnant because I never wanted to go through that again. My pregnancy was really hard scary. I prayed to God one night if he let me keep my lil miracle, I would do my best to stay with Josh no matter what. I really feel like I am being tested on the no matter what right now. More matter how much I forgive and try to respect him the way I am supposed to ( which I am a stubborn independent country girl so fail at more than I would like.). I. Pray god will guide me where I can give more to maybe be his tool or who I need to be to save my family.
