Having Johnny as the main character, and portraying him the way they do in Cobra Kai was an absolutely brilliant idea. Never thought I’d ever love Johnny lol.
Martin Krove has such amazing facial acting... Just a slight smile or a certain look. You can just see the "evil" wheels-a-turning. He is an absolute delight to see again, such a great villian and actor 👍😀👍
OK, also I was thinking while watching this clip here, these actors are great as their resumes show it too. Ralph was in My Cousin Vinny, William in Back to School and Martin in Rambo, First Blood Part 2. All 3 were iconic and great lasting movies in their own way. Very well done!
Same. I was expecting them to crap on the original but they made it work. Even when they are referencing the previous Karate Kid movies, it never felt forced. It always feel earned
This show is so well done. How they captured the modern issues and characteristics of the new generation z while mixing it up the original characters and adding that nostalgia while keeping them true to themselves but at the same time have character development! Is just amazing!! Simply amazing show
Just binge watched season 2 (no spoilers) and I am super excited for season 3 now. As an 80s kid that grew up with Karate Kid in the theaters, this is so nostalgic and thanks to you to YT for showcasing this.Epic Win
The nostalgia of the 80s is so real in this series. The flashbacks between the series and all the movies and the soundtrack, oh Jesus the SOUNDTRACK!!!!! I’m in heaven. I want more.
William Zabka has really become a great actor! I hope we see him do some leading roles in feature films in the future! Ralph Macchio acts exactly like he did when he was a kid. I don't mean his acting, he's a great actor too, I mean his personality and mannerisms. He hasn't changed at all. LOL
To me it's surreal to see these 3 together. They sell their characters so well that I see them together in interviews expecting to see Ralph and William duke it out.
Man I wish Mr muyagi was still around that would be amazing to bad they coykd of gotten somebody that kook like him to play his part but hes a legend cant replace that. Man RIP Mr muyagi I know your in heaven teaching somebody the crane kick.
You have to give credit all three of these actors... They are in their retirement age, and still love doing what they want to do, and their passion for bringing one of Netflix's best shows to life. Ralph Macchio is as youthful as ever, and plays a rich successful, but still sympathetic character. William Zabka plays such a compelling, yet troubled adult trying to right a past mistake by digging up an old demons, and redeem himself. Martin Kove masterfully plays a controlled psychopath with an unparalleled need to 'fix' his world around him, through his teachings of karate, and his past as an army soldier. The actual actors are so different from their fictional counterparts... Especially Kove, of whom has been compared to a giant teddy bear on set by his co-stars. Knowing that, it speaks volumes to the amount of talent and efforts on behalf of the production team, writers, creators, and actors. We are blessed to be around to view top notch programming, such as this. Despite Cobra Kai finally coming to a close coming in the next year, we can remain hopeful that these actors continue to relish their successes on this show, and bring us more Miyagi-verse content in the future :)
Watching (and loving) the first two Karate Kid films in the 80's as a kid and watching Cobra Kai now in my mid forties is like revisiting an old friend you haven't seen in a few decades, but who has grown up with you quietly in the background all the while and who you embrace meeting again. I'm loving the tribute-moments to the first film in Season 1 and how well-rounded and genuine the characters feel. Kudos to the writers and actors for Season 1 being one of the best reboots I've seen. If the writing remains fresh and if the series allows Johnny to find overall redemption, for me that would make it pretty much pitch perfect.
When you love your work and keep unnecessary drama out of your personal life you age well. What you eat and drink makes a difference over your life too.
Mr. Kove and Mr. Zavka played their roles so well, that after all these years, in the first episode and season of seeing them both, it brought back that childhood hate I had for them 🤣😂 BRAVO! And Mr. Macchino we never stopped loving you. Thank you for bringing them back to show us their lives as adults lol
I have already watched both seasons and can't wait for number three ! I always liked the karate kid movies and I'll tell you this Cobra Kai is amazing I couldn't stop watching it !
its a blessing 4 all of us that this show went to netflix and its so entertaining.. im happy 4 them , 4 the fans and all of us. big hug 4 this great idea
Stumbled across Cobra Kai by accident. Binged watched the first two seasons. Haven't laughed so hard in a long time! Wonderfully on-point and politically incorrect. William Zabka's performance is amazing and relatable.
Love this show a lot. Cant wait for season 4 or maybe 5. Love the story, the casts , the fighting scenes and love that they mentioned some 90's martial art figures like TMNT. So much nostalgia 😔

People love Ralph Macchio...very down to earth and relatable. Wouldn’t you just love to Crane Kick the person who bullied you in high school? Seriously I would have done it had I been taught by Mr. Miyagi how to.
Love this series. Fight on Cobra Kai. You guys are great. I was a teenager when the original Karate kid came out in 1984. Loved that movie and love this new series.
I had to stop watching this video because I am just getting into the 2nd season. The first season was absolutely amazing. Whoever wrote this was brilliant.
This is how you reboot a series!!! It's not just an over the top cringey parody of itself like so many others, it's respectful to the original, throws in some nostalgia but it's doing it's own thing.
I'm gobsmacked that Ralph is 60 he looks incredible! I've now chain watched every episode so started the series from the very beginning because I missed it too much haha 😄

@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 In the Cobra Kai dojo scene in part 1 Kreese talks to Johnny eye-to-eye and Johnny only looks an inch shorter than him. Going to watch it twice here soon, been wanting to watch it again right after I got done watching it like 5 Months ago but knew it would be much better the 2nd time around the longer I waited.
Cobra Kai and karate kid is the movie I watched as a kid in the early 90s . The original movie teaches you how to stand up for yourself and others against bullying but I don't think nobody knew that back then the kids these days should watch the first Karate Kid movie
I have to watch Martin Kove in interviews just to remind me he is just acting... coz he is annoyingly evil in his character grrr 😂😂😂 Great show, great actors :)
Johnny is so flawed on the show, yet we all support and want the best for him. Fantastic writing and acting from William Zabka and the rest of the cast on the show!!

Still a hash brown on it and send it to the internet!
William Zabka is a gem. Who knew that him and Ralph have been friends for years? This is a great series!
Love him too! He’s such a man’s man. So refreshing to see.. 😉
It was a brilliant way to add a whole new dimension to the source material. William Zabka pulled it off nicely.
Asthma does not exist in this dojo. Lol. I’m here for eagle fang karate.
Martin Krove has such amazing facial acting... Just a slight smile or a certain look. You can just see the "evil" wheels-a-turning. He is an absolute delight to see again, such a great villian and actor 👍😀👍
And he can get it anytime!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I legit can't get over how amazing they all look for their age. Especially Martin Kove. Dude's 73 but still looks kickass. Great interview.
you are right ..he is 73!!! WTF?? he looks 20 years younger!
Exactly. He's NINETEEN YEARS older than Zabka, but looks maybe half that...
How tf was he 35 in the original??
I would totally smash Martin Kove!!!
🔥❤️😍💋💯
tifking73 lol awesome !
Kinda strange to see all 3 sitting and laughing together. Kove as Kreese is convincingly evil. Credit to all 3 as actors.
He looks steely cold just sitting there

His son played the bully during the flashback scenes. Guess its in the blood how they are good playing bad guys.
He's good in all his roles. Even in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - total sheriff.
Cobra Kai is the best series ive ever seen...
It will bring your karate kid instincts back from the 80s... but as an adult Just amazing
Best of the reboots by a mile. It's amazing
i agree with you
I know it has everything..great cast, great story, great humor, love, sorrow and i love that its non PC.
Its so motivational!
They need to bring Hillary Swank in from Karat 4
I thought this show was gonna be stupid....I was dead wrong. Great acting, great writing, AWESOME!
They actually did an amazing job.
Indeed , They took this seriously for production and writing. didnt half arse it like many shows and that will make this show Iconic
I can't wait for season 4. What a great show

ShalakumX Simba He was born 1961. Thats 59
He looked 18 as a 30 year old, this legend just hasn't catched up lol.
He looks about 40 here. Even at 47 in the Sweep The Leg music video, he looked in his 30s!
To be fair he looked 15 for almost his whole adult life so I guess finally looking 30 is an improvement. :D
This show is so well done.

They aged very well, all three of them. I first saw Martin on Rambo. Karate kid one of the best franchises of the '80s is no doubt about it.
