Did you feel it? The river of love pulsing through your veins.. like a fresh summer breeze that wisps across your brow? And so the legend becomes even truer with this performance. Dimash's voice is not all there is to this magical artist. He plays the dombra for you with "River of Love" that means just what it says.. a river of spiritual love.. coming from Dimash and Renat, to your mind, your body and your soul. Cherish it, embrace it, guard it with your life as I do, for a truer love for humanity you will not find. Thank you.
@@B-Drags-Den You know I thought about that and came back. Not nearly as amazing as the fact that he actually remained a FULLTIME honors student and performed at the same time his entire career. I grew up in Kazakhstan my sister and some of my friends went to undergrad with him. On top of that he built a world leading production company as well, starting with talented friends and family, his Dad now runs daily operations however make no mistake, he's CEO and sole head, known in the business community as a tough negotiator, excellent businessman, sets a high bar, brooks no nonsense, always on time and prepared but fair, loyal and a gentleman at all times. He's ALSO writing his Doctoral dissertation for his PhD in Composition (composing). My sister swears they have to be feeding him intravenously ! 🤣 "How the hell does he have time to chew !?" she says wide eyed - hee !
Hi Rick. Thanks for reacting to one of my favorite pieces from Dimash ❤️ It is so soothing for the soul ❤ I love it when he plays the dombra and tops the song with some high notes 🪕🎶 Thanks for all your reactions this year - looking forward to many more in 2025 😊 Have a wonderful and safe New Year 🎉🤩
In my country, Portugal, in less than 2 hours we'll be in 2025. Happy New Year! I love Dimash, love you Rick and love all the Dears (and the others)! A warm hug ❤
I LOVE this piece ...one of my favorites for sure. Glad you picked up on his "sigh"...not too many comment on that. Then his soaring, but light vocals...😊The melody is just so beautiful. I really love when an old instrument is used in a contemporary style...it just adds such an interesting dimension. The very first time I heard this song, I shared it in my SmoothJazz groups... Thanks for reacting to this. ❤ Have a Happy and Blessed New Year 🎊 and....see you in 2025!!! 😊
Thank you for reacting to this “under the radar” performance! Dimash loves playing Dombra. The guy on the piano is the composer. You do pronounce the letter “t” in his name Renat. The melody is very soothing, indeed. Have a happy and healthy New Year! ❤
Most of the sounds you hear in the background are Dimash using his voice as an instrument. He does something similar in Zhalyn. I love this piece, it's one of the few times we get to see his work as a musician, he doesn't credit himself as a musician so most of the time we only hear him doing things like this when someone's in the background recording on a phone. He did a stunning version of an Elton John song during the filming of Zhalyn. I can't remember if it was Yellow Brick Road or Candle in the Wind now, it's a long time since I saw the IG post.
Thank you Rick for reacting to this rarely reacted to gem.😃 I agree that he squeezes every nuance out of that Dombra.😂😂 Happy New Year to you and yours. Loved your content in 2024 and looking forward to 2025. 🥳🥳🥳☃️❄️☃️🥳🥳🥳 🥰🥰Much love from a Canadian 🦫 Dear🇨🇦
Great reaction, Rick. Dimash was playing the Dombra, the 2-string instrument that is basically the national intrument of Kazakhstan. Practically in every household. If you remember from his Omir MV, he was playing with it since baby time. Everyone in his family played. Grandfather, father, him and brother Mansur. Renat is a reknown Kazakh composer and a friend of Dimash. They had done several collaborations. Here, in his studio, it just looked like they were jamming, so casual and so intimate. Renat was the one who composed Angel Love and several others. It was Dimash who sighed, and hit those high notes at the end. Very jazzy and yet soothing. Dimash always tries to incorporate Kazakh instruments into his music. That's why he said his musical style is neo-classic cross-over, and Kazakh culture infused as well. I LVOE this piece. 🥰
The whispering and all backing vocals are Dimash. He plays a Dombra it only has two strings and he plays basically with one flick of his index finger. Dimash plays this instrument expertly. He is a multi instrumentalist, very talented music producer. Master composer, video maker, screenwriter, songwriter, etc etc etc, the list goes on. He is also a very good sportman, swimmer, footballer, martial artist. Model, actor better stop now. Great reaction thank you ❤

👉 The Dombra is a folk musical instrument widely used in Central Asia. It is made of wood and has a pear-shaped body with a long neck (only in Kazakhstan with frets) to which two gut strings are attached. The dombra can be rightly called the queen of Kazakh instruments since the XIX-th century. Dombra can be met in each yurta; it was referred to as one the most necessary and obligatory things in the life of Kazakhs. Although Kazakh musical instruments resemble those belonging to other tribes of the Central Asian ethnic group, they have their peculiarities dictated by national traditions. Today the dombra is a national symbol of the Kazakhs and Dimash said every Kasacian child learns this instrument. In many legends the heroes of successfully made use the ability to 'communicate without words: 'In spite of his father's prohibition the khan's son secretly went hunting. He met a herd of kulans and wounded the leader. Infuriated, Lame Kulan killed the youth with a stroke of the hoof. After waiting in vain for the return of his son from hunting, the khan declared that anyone who approached him with that bad news would be executed by pouring molten lead into the mouth. No one dared for a long time until an old dombrist (person who plays the dombra) attempted. The sorrowful tune of the kyui was able to send this tragic message across to the khan. He ordered that the molten lead be poured into the dombra. That was how the opening in the upper sounding board of this musical instrument came about.
Thanks for sharing your reaction. Even though Dimash is a great vocalist with a range of 6,5 octaves, his songs are not to my taste. For me this was something one would listen to in an elevator & shopping mall.
