Form over Function leads to reduced efficiency and discomfort. Function over Form is efficiency
Sacrificing beauty for functionality is mental condition.
Fashion usually pushes women to do strange things...like foot binding in Asia.

If they were educated and explain to them how bad is to their neck and other parts of the body perhaps they will change their mind and tradition. And opportunity to have jobs and income for the family not depending on tourists.

People that put these rings on their children for the sole purpose of making an extra buck from tourists are disgusting

@@milktoast8071 Good point. I suppose they aren't so hesitant to do it because it's quite normal in their culture

It is part of their culture and traditions, so we have to accept it. And yes, they do make some money but the businessmen who exploit them and put them 'on show' make much more money than the women, and that is disgusting!

I was married to a man from Burma (long divorced now ), and he used to tell me about these people and how everyone else in Burma thinks they are crazy 😂.
Burma (Myanmar) is probably the most beautiful most untouched county that exists but their government and inability to give people the freedom to live stable lives effects and breaks every tradition they have. It has caused families to split and flee as refugees, and the economy is the worst in the world. That country needs a miracle because it has been in civil war since the 50s pretty much.
