I don't hold it against the people that sell out, they just want to make money and I still watch their stuff sometimes depending on the video. Some content takes a lot of money to make but can be highly valuable to viewers

This actually made my day considering I am an Uber driver and I can verify customers like this exist. Been doing it for 3 years and have seen quite a bit more crazy rides compared to these. Love the video and hope to see more soon

I took a woman to a mental asylum (3 hour ride) where she spent 3 hours trying to get me to marry her and get her pregnant, and once took a guy to the middle of a field (2 hours away) where he lit his hat on fire and talked about a t shirt company he was gonna start..... You're welcome! That's a freebie and you didn't even have to get into my car xD

I drove for Uber for a while, though a few years later than Brew, and it was actually pretty sweet. My car was a $400 manual hatchback, and really cheap to operate. Made an average of $35/hr, even had a few job opportunities offered up.

@@yingyang1875 All salary numbers in the U.S. exclude taxes, so that doesn't change the relative numbers. For my specific car (a Japanese hatchback), operating costs were extremely low. I averaged 32mpg when fuel was around $2.70 a gallon, which averaged out to about a gallon an hour (mostly city driving). A conservative estimate for my operating costs was around $5/hr, so the pay including operating expenses was about $30/hr. I also maintain my own car, so maintenance is even cheaper. Insurance was less than $30/mo, but that's something I'm already required to posses so that matters much less. My car was also worth $4,500 after I stopped doing ride-share, a valuation which was confirmed by a check I received from an insurance company after the car was totalled.
Now the less intelligent Uber/Lyft drivers are using brand-new, financed vehicles, that depreciate every mile they use it, and they're paying an interest rate until they pay off the loan. Plus, financed vehicles must be comprehensively insured, which is 3x the price. And to maintain their factory warranty, they will probably have to maintain the car using a dealership. I witnessed several people doing ride-sharing using $50k vehicles that achieved less than 20mpg, and I could imagine they're losing money in the long-run.
So to make money in that specific industry, a person should take a few minutes to verify whether it will be profitable or not. Instead, we get a bunch of less-intelligent people complaining about how much their paid when they're the people who I just described in my above paragraph.
@@yingyang1875 all hourly pay is before taxes so still better than a measly $15. Then you take into account all the expenses you can write off.. or if you don't save receipts you can take the standard deduction. In my state i get .57 cents for every mile I drive while the app is going, even if I'm not doing a ride. It's leveling out a bit now with the economy collapsing.. but still wayyyyyyy better than some retail or food service job
@@poprockies for retail is a honest 40 hours. As a uber driving u probs are working more then 40 to have the same income plus there usally dental with retail jobs

Not sure where you live, but if you’re in the us they have emergency housing vouchers for hotels and motels. There’s also rental assistance who will pay your rent if you can’t pay it. Usually state/government websites have info on who to call.
If those aren’t options, if you can afford it, get a gym membership. There’s a place to park your car, showers, a temperature controlled environment. If you can also afford it, I recommend a Costco membership. Hella free samples, and they sell gigantic hotdogs for like $1.50
Amazon hires on the spot online, and a lot of them allow you to withdraw your paycheck early. You can cash out after every shift. Some places let you rent with just an offer letter that shows your wages.

Best way to avoid bad customers is to never work at places that allows you to work with them. Work at an industrial factory or somethin’. No point in having a job you ain’t going to like for years straight with bad pay. 60k or higher and thats as much as ill go through for that. Quitting a job is difficult. Goodluck man.
It's only SLIGHTLY ironic that K Mart comes up a lot on these vids. It was actually a good place to work...Except for the CUSTOMERS. I have worked retail, NOW, I work "food service" (full service resturant NOT even "fast food") TRUST ME IT'S a fucking DOWNGRADE! Now.. it's my CO WORKERS that SUCK. 🤦♂️
As an Uber driver, I approve this video.
My very first night out all went well, until... About 3am I pick a guy up, a women at a gentleman's club ordered the ride for him, he's drunk as hell. For the 15 mile ride he went through so many mood swings, called me dad at least 20 times. Finally we get to his house, then he refuses to get out. Far as I could tell he was a vet in his late 30s and I'm a small guy, I cant fight him if I upset him with his mood swings.
Uber has a feature where you can text the police and after 15 minutes they finally arrive and gets him out of my car. Hell of a first night, I still drive.

the kids who would talk to me while their parents were in the liquor store buying alcohol telling me about all the abuse in their homes was a Soul killer. one boy asked me if i had kids and i told him i did. He then asked if I drink in front of my kids and I told him no, my kids have never seen me drunk and he patted me on the shoulder and told me (i wish you were my dad).

This reminds me of a time I was doing Doordash with my Dad during High School a few years back during Summer Break.
One order we had was at a BBQ joint, but the Burger they ordered only had Onions. Like a ton of onions, so much that it stunk up the whole car, and we had to put it in the trunk. We pull up to the house, follow the instructions to leave it on the doorstep and not a second later this dude who looks half drunk takes the food and quickly vanishes. My Dad was able to take a picture of the orders receipt and still tells the story to this day. But to this day that car still smells like rotten onions, and made me never want to do food delivery ever again.
My dad does Uber for some extra money, and one time this dude drops a blunt in the car and his car smelled like weed for a good 3 weeks.
Unfortunately when we first notice the smell we couldn't figure out where it was until my hand touched it while looking under the car seats. Still grosses me out to this day
If you're serious about the stink, just get an ozone generator - plug it in, turn it on, leave it in the car for a few hours, bam! no more stink. Buddy at work uses one to de-stinkify the work trucks due to all the fish plants we work at and dead critters we deal with. Good stuff.
Your car will stink like ozone for a few days (think old giant photocopier smell), but that wears off.

That's also one of the reasons I pretty much stopped doing uber eats. Especially when people order from seafood style restaurants. Stinks everything up bad.
That and when you keep getting fares that are on the other side of town from where you are and where you live, and if you take it, then you keep getting further and further away ones, and suddenly it's like an hour drive just to get home.

About a week ago I started watching your animations. I have to say your recollection of life mimics mine closely. I have a friend David that had all the cool shit, stay home "sick" with my grandma watching Price is Right, worked at Toys R Us seasonal in the back (not building bikes just picking big box items), had shitty eyesight in school but faked not to not get glasses, played Little League, part of Cub Scouts, destroy at Monopoly, tried the spiked hair look in middle school (but mine stuck), used to camp in my friend's backyard and wrestle each other on the trampoline with our own entry music then go play Nintendo, had that one friend with a really smelly house, the one friend that told the most outrageous lies, used to hide in the dryer playing hide-and-seek, made bike jumps with my shitty mountain bike, started at University ended up in Community College and some other things I can't even remember right now. I laughed the first few coincidences then it got to being uncanny. Maybe that's just a typical 90s childhood lol
