@@carlbot2 they want melodies that match their lyrics. Not make a GOOD sounding new melody which is almost impossible. We're on this earth for a short period of time, I doubt they wanna stress about making the most different song.
@themusicindustry2005 I don't agree, there are literally infinite combinations of notes, the tine signature they are played, the rythm in that time signature and even the frequency of the notes. Pop songwriters are scared that by doing something different, they risk having an unpopular song, but when you are as big as taylor swift or dua lipa what do you have to lose.
@@Connorb2008 There are only certain time signatures that sound good, most of those “infinite” combinations of notes are unpleasant. There are only a finite number of pleasant sounding melodies which is why we’re getting songs that sound similar to songs that have been written before
@themusicindustry2005 that's not true, maybe you think that (and that's okay) but to say there are only a finite amount of melodies that sound good it just wrong, listen to Smells like Teen Spirit by nirvana, very odd vocal melody but it works so well you don't even notice this. Even taylor swift has used odd time signatures herself, tolerate it from evermore is in 5/4 An di haven't even talked about the beatles and radiohead who do the wierdest things with their music but you wouldn't notice unless some one told you

Need You Tonight. Written by the late Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss. The royalties go to Farriss and the Estate of Michael Hutchence, which was set up prior to his death 😳. RIP Michael Hutchence and Olivia Newton John.
People need to know that we are running out of original music/melodies. Every song is going to be the same or similar in melody. This goes for not just Dua Lipa but for all singers/artist. If you do take the exact same melody as previous songs then the artist should give credit to the original artist. So no hate on any of these artist becuz all their songs are good ❤
That’s simply not true. We aren’t even close to running out of melodies, we’re just seeing a lot of artists that ran out of originality. Most of these “accidental plagiarism” cases are due to 2 or more artists just using a relatively simple melody/rhythm. If they took more time to be creative, you wouldn’t see so many of these.
@@carlbot2 In the first sentence I did include that we are running out of *original* melodies. I agree with you that artist can be more creative but it’s still either gonna be they come up with a melody that’s similar to another song’s melody or some other artist is going to create a song’s melody similar to theirs. This is just my opinion on how I think the music industry is. Either if we are or aren’t running out of originality, artist have been making music for us/our+their enjoyment. We need to appreciate what they do for us and how much work they put into these songs. So we should not hate them for having their music melodies be similar to each others 😜🔥😎
@@TheDragonGen7 and I disagree. This is really only a consistent problem in the music industry because so many people play things way too safe, and use uninspired, obviously simple melodies. You didn’t argue, at first, that this was an industry problem, you just claimed that we’re running out of original melodies, which is probably false.
@@carlbot2 So I’m not someone who plays or creates music but I think it is just hard to write any original melody. I don’t know if you write music and you’re trying to say I’m wrong from your experience with music, which I respect that. There are some artist who do get inspired by other artist when they create songs/melodies. That’s probably why some sound similar to others. I don’t actually think it’s an industrial problem. I just meant like the I guess the era/modern era now is *almost* copying song’s melodies from past songs. There are some songs out there that are straight up copying, most commonly Ice Ice Baby and listeners found out about JoJo Siwa’a Karma was the same. It’s mostly the artist of this time you can say that are using similar melodies for there songs. I do know for Dua however that she has an album called Future Nostalgia which is why she’s using similar melodies.
@@TheDragonGen7 what I’m trying to say is basically that a lot of the music industry uses such incredibly basic melodic ideas that those ideas have obviously been used, but there’s also something to say about how small these lines have been broken down to try and prove that. As an example from this video: directly using a scale in your melody is incredibly basic, but if someone is trying to claim that an entire melodic line is unoriginal solely because you used a small handful of scalar notes, they’re just reaching. Certain patterns in music *are* used very often, but these patterns are also some of the most basic and intrinsic patterns in music. Using notes from a certain scale or arpeggio isn’t unoriginal if you use those notes in interesting or original ways, which composers have done since those notes were given names.
If it's Dua Lips or Ava Max, they both have something in common: 1.all of their songs sound like a remake of older hits, so nothing really original 2.more to it, none of them can actually sing live.

@@LD-tn6ff it is true, they sound just alike
@@AlexInDaMixi hope you're okay after whatever accident took your hearing. I wish you a speedy recovery.
The last one are amazing, asking permission😂
I hate how people that barely know anything about music just accuse artists of stealing and whatnot so thank you for this video
it doesn't mean you are in trouble; you can do legal agreetments before, especially if you want to honor some music of the past
Modern pop music is so basic it’s IMPOSSIBLE not to rip someone off so either get creative and make money or stay boring and get sued
@@harvmate there’s only 12 notes that you can choose from and there’s millions of songs already written
@@harvmate there’s just too many songs already written to be fully original
@@themusicindustry2005and yet artists are constantly finding ways to make original music. Just because you can’t figure it out doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
@@carlbot2 they want melodies that match their lyrics. Not make a GOOD sounding new melody which is almost impossible. We're on this earth for a short period of time, I doubt they wanna stress about making the most different song.
@vegetable0327 and that's why most music sucks now
No! Dua Lipa did not commit perjury!
I doubts she writes them
She writes her songs, google is free
ascending minor scale? nah that’s bad apple
This is why songwriters now need to use more unusual melodies and rythms
Try be original
It’s just hard though cause so many songs exist already
@themusicindustry2005 I don't agree, there are literally infinite combinations of notes, the tine signature they are played, the rythm in that time signature and even the frequency of the notes.
Pop songwriters are scared that by doing something different, they risk having an unpopular song,
but when you are as big as taylor swift or dua lipa what do you have to lose.
@@Connorb2008 There are only certain time signatures that sound good, most of those “infinite” combinations of notes are unpleasant. There are only a finite number of pleasant sounding melodies which is why we’re getting songs that sound similar to songs that have been written before
@@Connorb2008 I mean the labels lose when their artists underperform and they risk being dropped
@themusicindustry2005 that's not true, maybe you think that (and that's okay) but to say there are only a finite amount of melodies that sound good it just wrong,
listen to Smells like Teen Spirit by nirvana, very odd vocal melody but it works so well you don't even notice this.
Even taylor swift has used odd time signatures herself, tolerate it from evermore is in 5/4
An di haven't even talked about the beatles and radiohead who do the wierdest things with their music but you wouldn't notice unless some one told you
Why is it Dua?
It should be the company
Bro is out here trying to get Dua Lipa in trouble
Get her out of trouble actually
It’s not only about the melody or the chords, it’s also about the rhythm and beat that is the same in every 3 songs
Physical is kinda like a karen😂😂
I think "Break My Heart" by Dua Lipa and "How Long" by Charlie Puth sound kind of similar
I was made is front scooby doo i think
yeah she is just a remix artist
As a Dua lipa fan.. thx for making this. This has been all over my insta how she is stealing songs and I hate it 😭
I accidentally wrote "monsters" by Katie sky almost to a t so i understand this type of mess
I always thought Houdini reminded me of Thriller
I read Dua lipgloss! 😂😂😅😅

Amen. 🎉🎉🎉 She is bad.
There's also levitating I think she got sued for that one too.
They made a case to sue her but they couldn’t prove she stole from them so they never ended up suing.
Dua deserves an Oscar for giving credits
She wants credit for being original while sounding the most unoriginal
I love her music
it’s also about the rythm my friend…
I love Dua but this seems to be happening too much to her for it to be a coincidence…
12 notes in music. Millions of songs
@@JordanRud I mean I would like to hope it was accidental, the video seems to suggest that
@@shortannlyn Anybody can use a scale or a combination 3-4 notes ascending or descending… And yeah, it’s probably accidental….
@@shortannlyn The Album of all these Songs is called "Future Nostalgia". Almost every song on this album are based on a nostalgia song.
Yall are kinda dense, of course she references old songs in her album called Future Nostalgia that was like the point of the album. Shes given credit to those artists if you’re not aware.
the future nostalgia album was SUPPOSED to sound like older songs, hence the name of the album
Dua Lipa please sample a song to get the old people mad
If it's Dua Lips or Ava Max, they both have something in common:
1.all of their songs sound like a remake of older hits, so nothing really original
2.more to it, none of them can actually sing live.
