I stopped growing freshman year, this man grows a whole foot
same dude lmao
Lol so you were one of those kids who grew early? I was jealous of kids like you but then I passed them in height in my junior and senior year 😭
Me too.
What’s crazy is that 6’2” still has him that short in the nba world
@@231doughboy lol i remember passing them ppl who hit 6ft at 7th grade in 11th grade at 6'2.5"
Good on whoever coach gave him a chance at 5’2”, you need somebody to give you the opportunity
In 99% of all of the high schools in America it doesn't matter if you're 5'2 if you can handle the ball you're going to make the team
He was averaging 20 ppg in 3 quarters. Put some respek on his name
@@brandonhinrichs4393 not true at all some guys make high school teams just because they are tall or athletic
@@RedCGaming12 yeah and? They also make the team because they're short and can actually handle the ball. Which is much more important and useable than a kid who can jump high. %90 of high school teams dont have a single player over 6'6 6'7. What were you even saying? I said if he's five too and can handle the ball he pretty much every kid is going to make the team at 99% of schools and you're response was not true kids make the team because they're tall and athletic? Yeah duh they make the team with the 5'2 guy lol
@@brandonhinrichs4393 I can’t even count the amount of players who were ballers but never made it to the next level because of height or size.. it’s easier to get away with shortness in football
I was 5’6 as a Freshman. I’m 5’8 now…. 10 years later 😭
Lol damn, funny thing is 5’6 is about average height for a freshman
I'm 5'9 and in 8th
I was 6'1 as a sophomore. I never grew after that
Same
@@corruptedvibes199 so was I bro, now I'm senior and I'm still 5'9 😐
What a guy, very interesting. CJ comes from a wise and emotionally strong family. Great motivation. You can tell it's authentic, honest and from experience.
"you can crumble & fold or you can understand everything you want in life is on the other side of hard" ....preach on big brother!
5:03 "You got two options: you can crumble and fold, or you can understand that everything you want in life is on the other side of hard"
Love the mention of Earl Boykins. One of my favorite players to watch and play with on 2K back in the day.
Bench press king too
He has a good mom And brother
They pushed him to greatness
All you need is parents
Amazing to hear these professionals athletes most of us will never know the focus it takes to push yourself mentally and physically to the max for years. That's why you hear those screams and celebrations when they do something well. It's not always show boating sometimes it's releasing the pressure valve.
Fr self motivation is hard
@I Am Zay I agree but at that position in life they have discipline
REAL TALK!! The common non-willing people just can't understand
Well said!
This mans confidence and faith were nutz at a young age.
Thank you CJ, I know you are never going to see this, but this is exactly what I needed right now.
This was very inspirational. Speaking things into existence huh.
you can do it too Alp!!
I am 6”1
Still can't believe i used to hate on JJ Redick. He is easily one of my favorites now.
Cj lives in Dames shadow so much. Doesn't get the respect he deserves.
Gotta not completely blunder a double overtime game in the playoffs if you want respect.
@@blackichan3866 u actin like He’s the first player to do sum like that every player has its bad moments but we can’t forget what he did in the 2019 playoffs
@@blackichan3866 “Completely blunder”. He made one mistake.
@@Watermelon_Man how many points did he have in that double overtime game? Why does his point totals drop in playoff games? Dame needs a star next to him. Cj nothing but a role player when it actually counts, weve seen it ever single year.
I compare it to kris Middleton with giannis
One of the best episode so far in the channel.
OMG! I was at that game!! He was a freshman at Glenoak High school in Canton Ohio. That’s were I’am from. Glenoak was playing St. Ignatius for a chance to play for the state championship. I was with my brother and said” that kid looks like he’s shorter than me! “ I’m 5” 4 .” And I was right. But Maaan could He handle the ball! I also remember his growth spurt, like wow! By the time He graduated, I believe He was almost six foot.Ironically years later I worked at the same hospital as his cousin. Some of the names He mentioned from Canton I knew. I graduated from McKinley with Eric Snow, I believe He nicknamed him E Snow. I’am glad I saw this. What a small world. He’s a great player, makes us in Canton proud!
*I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.* Philippians 4:13
Apparently by the time he was in his third year of high school he was already 5’11”. Thats some crazy growth
Tbh I grew about the same in my own high school years but I unfortunately stopped growing after 11th grade at 5'10.
Freshman year I was 5’2 sophomore I was 6’1”
@@michaelrogers9720 8th grade 5'8?, 10th grade ~6'5. Also 10th grade, 145lbs lol

@anthony Romero did you date him after the growth spurt?
Belief….that’s how you make things happen in life
I’m a junior in college. I never played basketball until last year but I’ve never stopped working at my game. I never let my bad performances affect me negatively it just makes me want to work harder. Mad inspirational
What are u working for, like your goal? U want make college team?
I already love his story before watching this but hear him talk about it himself with the nuances is inspirational to another level.
Very inspirational. Very encouraging. The principles can be applied to any area in life.
Damn god blessed tf out of you bro 🙏🏽
this one of the most inspirational things i’ve ever seen
His story is 🔥🔥🔥
Dope podcast, best basketball commentary
Positive affirmations came to fruition, beautiful!
This is the most inspiring thing I've heard all day.
Portland wishes CJ the best! Will always be a supporter.
Thank you cj, u definitely inspired me. I believe he used the law of attraction too. 💯
He is just different in a good way. I knew about his game, I knew how he rips or gives props to other NBA basketball players on Twitter, but I just thought he kept himself hidden until now Mr. President. I'm ready to see some new faces of the league emerge.
This is so motivated
What a motivational story. Appreciate the good word.
I wonder how many times CJ has been told he looks like Steve Urkel in that pic?😂😂
Inspiring and Empowering. It fuels my dreams and passions❤️👌🙌🙏☝️🙂
My favorite player 💯🔥
Such a great story. What a great guy
Applaud CJ! Made man, glad Portland drafted him, really proud of the person he is
He couldn't help his growth but his mindset along the way set him up for success
I really hope CJ dressed up as Steve Urkel for Halloween, like ever in his life. Cause he can pass 😅
CJ is a gem of a personality also.
Very inspirational man
Irrational confidence is key y’all, don’t let your current circumstances dictate your forever, have the vision even when the blind doubting.
Talk about clutch growth
This is a great story. Wow
Anything can happen don’t never stop believing keep faith always
The power of belief, positivity, and manifestation
God damn that’s motivational
Irrationally confident 💪🏾👑
I love this episode
CJ is very well spoken!
Salute Cj Mr. Got it out the mud!!
This is great.
I am stealing the voice memo thing..that's 🔥🔥
I think differently about CJ. Im really hoping he's healthy this season.. Wow what a dude
Witness of just his improvement in the NBA. That dude always worked incredibly hard.
You think differently? Stop trashing people you don’t know based of off sports fandom you dummy.
Amazing
Man if I grew a foot after freshman I’d be in the nba . Damn genes !!
CJ looked like an infant dribbling a ball 😂
If it can happen for CJ. It’ll happen for me, I already have Faith that I have 6 and a half more inches of growth
That’s what I thought too… im still 5’6 lol
Allen Iverson has inspired so many He will forever own the #3
I remember being 5'3/5'4 as a freshman thinking I could be 6'3 like CJ, but I'm like 5'7/5'8 now lol.
I was 5’7 in high school. Years later, I still am 5’7 😭

I just got live for CJ
Great basketball story
Come play in Dallas, please 🙏💪🏀
you are what you are what you do not what you think or say
CJ's mindset is what its really about.
As I freshman I was 5’1… now I’m in junior year and I’m 5’11… my mom is 5’8 5’9, all my uncles are over 6’2 and they all had their growth spurts when they were 18 - 24 so I hope I’m like that
I’m 5’0 entering freshman next week, My dad is 5’9 and my mom was 5’5 but I have 3 uncles over 6 and grandpa over 6 feet. I’m praying I get those genes 🙏
Good luck👍

Super 🔥
Damn, I had that growth spurt too. 5'1 freshman year, 5 years later 6'1
I went from 5’5 to 6’3 within that frame
“Speak it to existence.” Reminds me of Lavar Ball.
I just became A CJ McCollum fan.
😒😒
Great photo! Looks recent.
I can relate I grew from 5'0 in eight grade and I grew at my current height right now at 5'6 in ninth grade
whoa...cool story. most guest seem to be rather boring since they were always 8' or taller in high school so this was a breath of fresh air. always liked CJs game. now if h can get his 3s back for this year.

I'm playing this vid for my son.
He's a solid nbaer, he was probably really good at 5'2 n exceptional at 5'7
Momma knows best!
so the blazers replaced kanter/melo/djj with zeller/nance/snell/mclemore
i love how everyone says "blazers didnt do anything this offseason" that bench just got so much better, without accounting for any improvement from youngsters like simons and little
"6-10 seed" lmao
New Orleans Pelicans got a good veteran player in CJ McCollum
I was 5”4 as a freshman and now I’m 5”10 as a junior 😭
I went to middle school with former nba player CJ Miles here in Dallas, TX. Both of us were about the same height, around 6 ft tall at the time. He went on to grow another 6 inches being 6'6, while I ended up being 6'1...funny how genetics work. I pretty much stopped growing after the 7th grade.
Wow same I was 5”2 as well, grew a whole 5-6 inches now at 23
Sad 😢
I wish I had this confidence. I played H.S. ball with D. Wade. My lack of self Confidence and work ethic was all I gotta say.
Y’all ever heard CJ brother talk? 👀...dude sounds real funny no lie 😆😂...look it up lol..but he super nice at ball overseas of course
his growth spurt one of da craziest in the nba
Anthony Davis too
Rip to all the shorties that dubbed him freshman year 😂😂 my guy in the big leagues now
I was 5'2 freshman year too. Graduated at 6 foot... now I'm 6'3.
"Just start growing bro"
This is why I knew I'd never make the league. I never worked this hard for the sport
I was also 5'2" as a freshman and to this day
I believe it. I was 5'2" as a freshman and 6'7" as a senior in HS. BUT, I was TRASH at 5'2"..
He had that Kobe mentality for real
"speak into existence" = working out 4 times a day
It’s a lot of people who work but don’t have that belief. Saying positive things to yourself is the best thing you can do, especially since people are very negative
Working out doesn’t make you taller
@@NoCluYT stretching does
@@NoCluYT working legs make you taller since I worked legs I have grew 2 inches I was 5’8 now I’m 5’10

This is some movie type life story
One thing people fail to realize is you still need someone to give you a shot. Heade the best of his opportunity
Damn bro Cj went from 5'2 at age 15 to 6'3 as an adult & I went from 5'7 at age 11 to 6ft as an adult. Where was my 1 ft growth spurt at?
