The naked wrestling guy was COOKING
You mean Benjamin David Simmons, #10 at the young socialite position for the Brooklyn Nets?
It was too sexist. The WNBA hates being left out.
He's a world star chef frfr
I can see why he said male wrestlers only, Red Panda would be too dominate
Cooking meth?
“His strong love of Derrick White” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Immediately after wants to make a Derrick White Award lol
@@shane199817 word lol
If it was Derrick Black….
@@fredm.2699you mfs are so corny
I think “strong love” doesn’t capture it. I’d have gone with infatuation.
So thankful JJ read that last pitch
That better be in a short. It's golden
That was easily the best pitch 🤌
LMAO you love to see it
@@ofesp.lost me at only males fam 😭
Last idea was so bad it made JJ say "That's enough internet for today" 😆
what you don't lik naked wrestling? Blasphemy
I would like to implement a timeout button.
Players can still use their hands but head coach should get a button that lights up the shot clock and can be used to see if a timeout gets called before a call gets made.
Oh that's a good one. Add a buzzer sound and lights too. Or give the coaches a whistle lmao
The only problem comes when a coach accidentally hits it when his team doesn’t have possession
@@joeb588that coach an idiot
I like that
@@joeb588well then it just wouldn’t count
We need more episodes of this. This was entertaining and insightful.
Doing a bit isnt easy to pull off...JJ pulled it off. and entirely rewatchable just to appreciate his "shark" parodies.
getting rid of defensive 3 seconds is the best rule ive heard. i never thought about how dumb that rule is, guys basically just tap there foot out of the paint in a non basketball way forcing them into an awkward position
Wemby will dominate the paint on defense even harder without it
@@adamprice3466 good
@@adamprice3466no way bro, guys like afford, Jarret Allen will be more monster, wemby nah, he will just get bodied there, and you don't want that to happen cuz you're a cry baby
even if that's true, they shouldn't design the NBA rules around one guy who plays 30 minutes a game and will probably be out of the league with back problems within a decade @@adamprice3466
@@prestoCreamsYou sound like you’re 12.
There were actually way more good ideas in this than I expected there would be when I clicked. Some would need more fleshing out, but the core ideas had merit.
I completely agree but we also know Reddick for caring about the rules that makes the NBA successful.
Completely agree. This was more insightful than I originally thought. I love that we’re thinking great ideas bc it’s been tough to watch these last couple years or so.
problem is the NBA didn't care. I wish they cared for what people want and reevaluate the rules. But most importantly reevaluate the refs. The amount of traveling, miscalls and out of nowhere tech calls are getting out of hand. NBA has terrible track record on reffing but how come with all the technolog we have now that it somehow became worse
Yea I think the naked wrestling had potential
heard mark cuban left shark tank to join you on hoops tank. can't blame him at all, love this segment 😂
Would be a great part of an interview!
@@jakobtonkunaschristensen5703it's 100% happening, Mark even sold his majority stake of the mavs to avoid any conflict of interest
Maybe Reddick's viewers has more people with money for Cuban to scam.

Here's a new rule I propose: When the Lakers are playing, the TV Commentators are only allowed to mention that Lebron James is 39 once per game.
Basketball commentators don't have much to say. It is the most simplistic game ever.
@@Onthebrink5just say you don’t understand the game 💀

@@Onthebrink5and football is just grown men playing catch 🤯
@@Onthebrink5 id argue its the opposite. So much happens in so little time that they cant talk about something for more than 5 seconds before another play happens
5:00 that's basically what the 6th man of the year award is
Yes and no. 6th man requires to come off the bench more often than you start. Role player of the year could/ would most likely be a starter. Maybe like a Derrick White ;)
@@joeycrawford2475this is a really good point as I thought the same as the op at first but yeah u right
@@joeycrawford2475 But i hated this award, for the same reason he argued against the role player award. We had so many winners, who come in the first possibility and where on court at the end, play 30+ Minutes. Why is it so different not to play the first 2 minutes, to deserve an award. Why it has to go to the 3-4 best player on the team. Doesnt the best or second best player deserve it more.
I am honestly surprised that no super star wanted to aquire those prize and sit out at the start, to win it.
And i agree with jj that everybody have an role, and making this role very specific like best 3 and D would still make it difficult to say, he is part of the group or not.
6 man is just best scorer on the bench not really an all encompassing award.
Tbh 6th man kind of is just mvp but off the bench and usually just boils down to who scores the most. Role player award I think would be a lot more eye test based and about other things like screens or team chemistry and geared to other stats more so not just scoring
Great vid so far, but the comment that’s on screen around 2:30 also mentioned having refs explain why they gave technical fouls, which I think would be a good step for the league. The ref would have to think before blowing the whistle; he’d have to evaluate “how would I look if I say I gave a technical foul because the player handed me the ball too aggressively?” It wouldn’t eliminate the issue, but if the NBA won’t hold refs accountable in any way, this will at least help a little.
Ah, but you see, that would make it harder for the refs to be held accoutable and rig games.
I love the idea of the chucks not counting unless they go in
I will say this considering the last SERIOUS pitch about the NBA having a "Euro-Week", I think something like having 15 teams in 15 cities would be next to impossible to pull off in a week. HOWEVER, what could happen is the NBA taking a page out of the NFL's book and having each team play one game in a European city throughout the 7-month regular season. Places that should specifically be targeted should be Paris, Spain (because of their insane basketball culture and history 🇪🇸), and either London or Germany. I think that right there is 100% realistic
I would love to see them go to each continent. Let’s keep growing the sport, baby.
Agreed. The NBA should consider something like this especially if they wanna make international NBA leagues.
15 games is definitely far too much, but here are some ways I could see this working:
1) the last 5 games of seeds 10 to 16 are played internationally. So, if these teams aren't in playoff or play in tournament contention, go play games abroad.
2) combine the draft idea with international play : again, the shitty teams go abroad to play for draft positions
3) there are always rest days in between playoff games where nothing happens in the NBA, it's typically 2 to 3 days in between rounds and games so they can align the schedule.
On these rest days, schedule post season exhibition games to play abroad. There is still basketball going on and then go back to the playoffs. Make the incentive draft pick selections, monetary compensation/bonuses, etc.
4) easiest way of making this happen...summer league is international. Make a few games international, maybe finals international etc
Weird pick of countries considering where the best European players grew up.
Athens, Belgrade, Barcelona are some cities I would add to the mix. Give Eastern Europe some love for once
Yeah, I’m a need you to make this a series and do it every single week
He’s never invested in anything other than his strong love for Derrick white had me dying 💀
Then creates a “derrick White” award 😂😂😂
Have the fans vote for who they think were the biggest all star snubs from both conferences, then let them have a 1v1 tournament on all star Saturday for 2 final roster spots (1 in each conference)
This is an amazing idea. 500k for a 30% stake from me.
Love this!
It’s a great idea but I don’t think people would participate in that most years.
Like why shorten your week of vacation for two days just to fly to Indiana for the chance to shorten it another day 😂
Also, it’s hard to do 1v1 in general. If Jarrett Allen, Trae Young, and Scottie Barnes are in the 1v1 tourney then whoever gets the ball first will win. Allen can’t guard trae and trae can’t guard Allen.
I think tatums idea for a possible 1v1 tourney makes the most sense. The bigs are in one bracket, the wings are another, and the guards are another bracket. You could even do king of the court with the 3 groups.
@@eliyarrows2456yeah i could agree with that or honestly they could just do it by having a front court 1v1 tourney and a backcourt one for the spots… i think even if it was like the original format I said it would be more entertaining than what we watched go down last week😭 but i see what ya sayin. I think the players would want to do it though because you see how people act when they dont make it and feel like they should have. It would basically take away the injury replacements thing too
They don't care that much to fight for last place
This is gold.
Could even replace the original series on the TV. 😄
Baseball definitely uses the term role players. The utility infielder is a role player, the 4th outfielder is a role player.
Also MLB learned that AS Game deciding home field is the worst idea possible.
There isn’t an incentive to really play the all star game. At least the home field was an incentive
This is an awesome concept of video! Make more like these! 😅
I do love the idea of outdoor NBA games in cities like LA, Phoenix, Houston.
My main problem with the NBA and the main problem I have had for my entire life, is calling a defensive foul when an offensive player initiates the contact.
I'd rather see them play official reg season games at some of the historical courts including a game at Rucker's Park. Hoosiers gym, etct that are still standing..NBA money could help preserve those that are still left.
they could just turn the all star game to an outdoor one
Do this way more often. This is one of the best content ideas I’ve ever seen
bro pls make this a series id binge the the hell outa it.
I love this format, pls keep doing this
Yo JJ. Great take on Doc Rivers. Cracked me up.
To piggy-back off the "Euro Week" idea... what if they shifted the schedule to make the IST a mid-season tournament? That tournament then (similar to UEFA Euros or FIFA World Cup) can be hosted by a country/countries or region. This IST and mid-season tournament would also replace the all-star festivities where those can be performed after the IST as a sort of "break" from the grind of the season/tournament and more fan-service
This idea reminds me that many top European soccer teams do similar thing in pre-season.
They go for like 2 weeks to other part of the world and play there some friendly games - often with other top Euro team that has it's pre-season nearby.
this segment was sick!!! I hope y'all do more
This is the content I'm subscribing for! Good job crew!!
The lottery teams Playoffs for top draft is *GENIUS!*
1.) This effectively solves the tanking problem. Worst record teams are the lowest playoff seed.
2.) Gives playoffs teams more rest and planning = More competitive less predictable matchups
3.) Extra playoffs before actual playoffs = More Games = More money for NBA
4.) Fans of loser teams have something to cheer for and be excited about
5.) Fans of winner teams have less excuses
6.) New exciting NBA
Great idea, lol. The NBA should have a suggestion website or something like that. What would you call the name of the tournament?
one counter I've heard is that a lot of players on the tanking teams are going to be competing to win their replacement players lol
this is sooooo much better than their december tournament thing.
Sounds good for fans and the NBA's wallets, but I don't see players buying into this at all. I ain't gonna be trying so hard if I knew the top prospect plays my position. not to mention it's now an even shorter offseason for player to rest and recover too
This instead of in season tournament
6:34 I love this take

Amazing video idea guys keep these up every once in a while
This is creative/funny. Great work 💪
Here’s a pitch from a sport I play: any time they have new rule ideas, implement them in a trial game or tournament , either during a Christmas break or during all star weekend. You could implement the bigger restricted area, removing the 3 second violation, the missed half courts shots not counting towards your missed shot stats etc, without affecting the current season. You can also gauge the effect to see if it should be implemented in later seasons. In my sport, 4 pretty big rule changes were tested here and were actually implemented in later seasons, while a lot of other were not.
Once you are eliminated from playoff contention you start collecting points to get the Number 1 Pick in the Draft (3points for win, 2 for overtime win, 1 for overtime loss)! Team with the most points get the best odds at getting the Number 1 Pick in the Draft! This would let the worst teams start to collect points earlier. Would also incentivize winning once you are out of playoff contention keeping the end of the season very competitive while also not having multiple teams with sub 20 wins tanking for the best odds.
Love the idea! My only suggestion would be to have the points collected from the start of the season, the 16 teams that qualify for the playoffs would be irrelevant, that way teams at the bottom would be trying all season.
It would start once they can't make the playoffs anymore! so the bad teams get 30-35 games to collect points and the teams that just miss the playoffs get 4-10 games. All the teams the make the playoffs you rank in reverse order for overall record! AND that's just to establish who gets how many ping pong balls! @@gregorybertrand645
this was a lot of fun. more of this
This was fantastic hahaha keep these coming, JJ! I’m a fan of the week of NBA games abroad - BUT maybe this replaces the in-season tournament, as it’s not a particularly well thought out concept to begin with.
Definitely continue with similar themed episodes!
Need more of these for sure
This was awesome, would love to see this segment again when you have a fresh crop of pitches. Defensive 3 seconds, half-court shots and rim hanging techs seem like no brainers.
please make this a weekly series

awesome video concept
Top notch content. Thank you JJ!
This is exactly the type of content we need in our lives. Keep it up JJ!
How to fix all star game:
- winning team and game mvp both get large cash prizes (for them, not some charity)
- winning side gets home court advantage in nba finals
-maybe even lower season game count to add more time for players to recharge and maybe they won't use all star weekend for that. (Keep a minimum games played for award tho)
- threaten that if effort isn't shown with those changes, the weekend will be done away with all together.. no more cash bonuses for all star selections, no more break in middle of season to recharge batteries, no more all star accolades counting toward HOF status, no more dunk contest, no more 3 pt champions, no more skills challenge or celebrity games.. just nothing
If they want the benefits of all-star weekend they have to earn them and show they want it to be there. ACT LIKE AN ALL STAR
Don't give these spoiled brats a single cent. Just get rid of the game, get rid of the bonus, accolades and break.
great format
We have open air games in the NBL here in Australia, as we're lucky enough to have a few arenas/stadia with retractable roofs. They're some of the most anticipated games all season.
Great format
i love this Hoop tank more please jj
you’re creativity was impressive on this video idea, very fun and ‘watchable’. Whoever came up with this should be proud!
we always talk about what the modern 3pt shot does to defenses but what we dont talk about is how it makes 3pt shot less exciting i think something that would be neat to experiment in the all star game is make the 3 pt shot worth 4 pts but if you miss a 4pt shot its 1 pt to the defending team specifically the closest player to the shooter. This does the following: makes people less likely to shoot it twice in arrow, makes teams more likely to want to defend and makes the shot exciting again. I know this would be a monumental change but i think it would be worth experimenting with something like that.
this is an amazing youtube video format
Need a series of this
This is gold, gotta make it a weekly or bi-weekly segment for sure.
Great video
Winning conference of the All Star Game should have less road games next year.
Players would give a damn for more home games and even if they dont.. their teams would make them give a damn. It would impact ticket sales.
The get rid of dribbling thumbnail got me 😂😂
JJ you the real MVP haha
Blud said "get rid of dribbling" 🤣
"I wanted the lobster, you gave me the crab!" 🤣😭

Having the top 8 teams go to Europe of the in season tournament is an AWESOME VIBE!
I sent in a similar pitch to the No Defensive 3 in the key … I think it also should be no offensive 3 in the key.
Euro week > all star weekend.
The best thing would actually be getting Rid of the 3second violation. I want to see BigMan sitting there and challenging everyone who tries to attack the Rim
A good idea for hoop tank is to adopt a similar formula that european soccer have. In the domestic leagues of "20 teams". Each team plays twice against the other teams. One one at home and another away. This in the nba can make the league season to " 59 games" and thus eliminating load managemnet and such. In addition, it add equality since each team would play the same amount of games against the same teams and thus making it more true to be the 1 seed, since now x team plays 4 times against the detroit while others only 2.
yeah, but the 'idea' is that within conferences and divisions, travel time is reduced. Milwaukee and chicago would rather play 4 games against each other, then having 2 and having to go to Miami once. Same with Boston/washington/new york.
Of course, the whole conference/division thing is when people were driving with buses.
This dude is talking about soccer 🤡
I would watch this segment every day
The draft order should be decided by teams with the most wins once eliminated from the playoffs.
Combats teams resting players and gives an advantage to the worst teams.
1. A points system of 1, 2 and 3 per game to determine the end of year MVP is already successful in Australia in the AFL called The Brownlow Medal.
2. Outdoor basketball during the regular season is also a success in Australia in the NBL having a stadium open the roof for a game during summer.
This is dope 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Add jingle bells to the nets for all of the Christmas games.
Beat pitch of the episode was “not counting the FGA unless made” from beyond half court I love watching the Hail Marys.
Yo that was fun! JJ crushing it this week
This was a fun watch! I didn't understand the investments, but still a very clever parody!
Draw a line across the top of the 3pt line, side to side. Then remove the 3pt arc. No more corner 3s, and the angle 3s are suddenly a few feet further out. The game of basketball returns!
The hockey style sub idea is actually great - I’ve done it before in pick up games and it definitely feels different but doesn’t take away from the game in the slightest
This is my favorite piece of content you've produced. Hilarious.
For NBA draft.
Assuming/preempting a 32 team league…
Lottery odds are split into 4 groups of 4.
16-13 - Best odds
12-9
8-5
4-1 - worst odds
A team cannot pick in the top 4 in consecutive years.
A team cannot pick in the top 8 in more than 2 consecutive years.
Picks are drawn 1-16, 17-32 in reverse order of playoff (not regular season) standings - with regular season being used for all the tie breakers.
If a team is not eligible for a top 4/8 pick they get the next available pick (5/9 or worse if the second ineligible team picked etc.).
If a team has traded the pick the receiving team eligibility applies.
If the receiving team is eligible for top 4/8 pick BUT the giving team isn’t that receiving team can choose for the pick to be conveyed as a top 4/8 pick or the next available draft slot if there is protections on it - forcing it to be conveyed.
If neither team is eligible then the draft pick must fall to the next available slot.
Swaps and multiple trading of the same pick with different protections still allowed.
Cannot trade picks beyond 5 years.
Must have a first round pick on the books (own or traded for) every other year.
Instead of the current dunk contest format, have 2 x 10 minute halves full of dunkers and point guards. The 3 best in-game dunkers proceed to the final round which reverts to the current format.
Love this
i love this concept 😄
Great vid idea JJ 👍🏾👍🏾
Bring this back!
Here's mine:
Start season after football season. Reduce the number of games to 42 (incentives players to not sit because games have more weight). Get rid of conferences. Most of the 42 games are division games and division winners are guaranteed playoff position (intensifies division rivalries). Eliminate play in tournament and in season tournament. All star weekend is USA vs World, 1v1 tournament (All stars), 3pt contest + non basketball activities.
Eliminate defensive three seconds. Expand charge circle. Make free throws 1+1.
WE NEED MORE OF THESE
I like the idea of more objective criteria for end of season awards like conference player of the month/week wins. I think it will lead to less controversial selections and also allow the hopeful candidates to understand what benchmarks they’re going to need to hit to be considered. I would also suggest putting a hard cap on how many games your team needs to win for a player to win MVP. I would say at least 50.
I also like the idea of expanding the restricted area and eliminating defensive 3 seconds. I think this will bring back more position speciality and lead to more skilled inside/midrange scoring and less charging into the paint and hoping for a foul.
Loved this 🤣
Far out your content is so so good.
The NBA had their first ever game outside in (2008). It was Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns at an Outside Tennis Stadium in Arizona. Don't remember much about that game, except that watching it on TV and seeing the players having trouble with getting a hold of the🏀because it was windy that day in the wind kept messing with the ball for most of the game. Multiple timeouts were called for wind stoppage calls. That was 16 years ago and the NBA has yet to have another outside NBA Game again😳.
Make shots past halfcourt 4pts and shots from your own 3 point zone 5 points. The last few seconds of a close game just got more interesting.
greatest segment of all time
I 100% agree with outdoor games
I adore this concept
All the NBA needs is a Medal System: Champs get gold, Finals Loser gets Silver, Conference Finals losers play for Bronze. Also, retroactively award medals to past Players and Teams accordingly.
