This beautiful song from The Phantom of the Opera is on p. 20 of Alfred's Adult Greatest Hits Level 2. The music was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe in 1986 for the Broadway musical. Sara Brightman sang it while playing the role of "Christine" with the original London cast and it was then released on CD in 1987 and sold over 40 million copies worldwide.
I like to play a full D octave at the very end. --Norma
This piano arrangement is by Martha Mier.

Your playing is always so inspiring. It definitely helped me watch your left hand, seeing you just stretch the octave and not moving. I do fairly well with the song up to the key change, then it is a little harder. I’m determined to play it as good as you do! Thank you for all your videos! They are beyond helpful!

Thank you so much for your kind words!! And yes, it is often easier to "hover" over the notes that will be needed next in preparation rather than waiting and moving excessively. (i.e. the octave situations) This is a great song to be working on! Enjoy the process! Norma

Hi! Is this score only available as a single item or included in a book of scores for intermediate piano? It’s not included in my adult piano course book 3.

I have several favorites from The Phantom of the Opera...."All I Ask of You", "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", "Think of Me". If you ever have the opportunity to go to a live production of it, Go. It's fabulous! Norma

@@92pianokeys40 i am trying to learn this exact version. It is a bit far outside my current skillset as still have about 20 pages to go in the alfred all in one before it suggests i am ready to tackle it! Am determined to learn it as such a lovely song. Finding the bass part tricky at the mo. Videos such as this help me no end 👍

@@speedy7834 So glad that you are finding the video helpful as you learn this beautiful song! It's okay to leap ahead a bit and try something more challenging. If you really love the song and are willing to put forth the extra time and effort, you will be rewarded with something that you will enjoy for quite some time since it will provide more long term satisfaction rather than simply feeling like you're just learning a "stepping stone" piece. --Norma

Hi Meis, I am being self-learning Alfred's book in the past year, your videos are my go-to material when I start a new song, your version sounds better than other UA-cam uploads. Yours are nicely played, which helps teaching me the emotion of a tune.
I really hope you are still uploading. And I also wonder if you would have time to record videos for the series called 'Classics for the Developing Pianist'? I can email you some scanned pages if you need them =)
    Thank you again!

Thank you so much for your kind words! My goal was to provide students with a nicely played, expressive rendition even for beginner pieces. So glad that came through to you. I haven't uploaded for quite some time since I have been too busy teaching, but I still respond to comments regularly and enjoy the interaction with piano students all around the world. --Norma

Also, the "Piano/Vocal/Guitar" edition will have the chords on it. You can always use guitar chord symbols for improvising on the piano. --Norma
