Longest hike of 2024: Jack's River Waterfalls, Hiking from Bottom Beech Trailhead, Tennessee-Georgia

- An arduous hike, it is a 9 mile in and out trail starting in Tennessee, and going back to Georgia thru the Beech Bottom Trailhead. It is prohibited to camp within the trailhead, and horse riding is welcome.
The road to the trailhead is equally challenging. It is a dirt road still in use for logging, it has sharp rocks sticking from the ground, and is irregular and full of potholes in sections. It will take 30 to 40 minutes to drive thru 10 miles of dirt road.
Once you reach the trail, lots of fallen trees block sections of the trail, and small water streams cross it. I recommend visiting during dry spells, and wear bug repellant, have a bear spray handy, this is bear country. You will be rewarded for completing the first half of the trail with the beautiful Jack's River Waterfall. There is a pond at the base of the waterfall that you can rest and charge up before going back on the trail. Conversely, you can also keep hiking down the Jack's River Trailhead. Jack's River trailhead is in Georgia, but it is longer and much less maintained than the Beech Bottom Trailhead.
I can say this is within the top 5 on the hikes done this year, and I dare to say this is on the top 5 of most challenging hikes done ever because of its length and remote location. Thank you for watching!
