THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Dirk. All this goes to show is how classy of a man you are. There are lots of men out there that would be screaming and cursing up a storm. Throwing out blame and being a general jackass. You keep your cool and humor in a terribly unfortunate situation, truly a role model for young men to watch and learn from.
Absolutely the Best Brotherly Love I have seen in a hunting team in a long time. Keep strong in tragedy brothers.
I fractured my Fibula last January on the first day of Black Powder Deer hunting. I was able to hunt for the next 4 days without seeing the doctor or being in mush pain at all. It wasn't until my foot swelled up and I wasn't able to get my boot on without pain that I went to the doctor and was told it was a fracture not a break. I was told to wear a boot the doctor gave me but only until I went to the Pharmacy and got a knee brace. The Boot wasn't something I could wear into the woods and Hunting Season was far from over. Leg injuries are not as bad as arm or shoulder injuries or at least this one wasn't.
Hope for a speedy recovery, Dirk!
God Bless you guys!
I have subscribed since the start, through changes in tactics and personnel you Men have held it together and kept your eyes on the prize. I worked, hunted and Fished out west for 35 years and believe me, you guys have good chemistry within the group.. So now let me give you my two cents.. When you are out in Remote Wilderness areas for days at a time anything could happen. I know we are all busy but do yourselves a Huge Favor... In the "Off" Season, if their is such a thing get a few of your guys Mid Level Medic Certified, Carry a Medical kit, one that will cover those things that cannot wait for a small town down the road..How we do this,,,we break the Med Kit up into a few smaller pouches and distribute the carry load..
Your all Young fit guys now but as the years past they do take their toll... Trust me. I am 60 and though I still hump up and down Canyons in Higher Elevation but let me say,,,,,,it's not as easy as it used to be and I do injure easier then I did 10 years ago..
Okay.. That's all from me... Its always a Pleasure to watch your content I enjoy each and every one..
Give what I said here some thought... It could save a Life..
God Bless, Be Safe out There..
Peace
Please keep us in the loop on Dirks progress. I will send a few prayers his way. The rest of you PLEASE be carful out there, it can get dangerous in a second. Good luck on the rest of the hunt.
Accidents can happen so fast. It's good you were all together and got Dirk out ok. It always makes me a little nervous when I hunt by myself because of things happening just like this. I hope that Dirk recovers fully and can get back in the game soon.
"Oh its sitka go ahead and cut it " lol
Dirk your a tough dude hope you heal up my man
It was a bummer seeing Dirk going down but to see how he bounced back and made it work for him is awesome!!! I've been dealing with a shoulder injury myself this year so I feel your pain....
"I'll" have Steve come get it.
Is it weird I got choked up seeing the bro's become true bro's? You guys are awesome.
🙏🏻😂
Just a heads up for you guys and people watching. If you end up injured like this in the woods and dont have a sling you can make one quickly. The bottom 3"to 4" of your t-shirt cut off as a circle makes a great strong sling . Stick it over your head and put arm through . If you dont want the arm to move wrap the sling once around the wrist . Speedy recovery Dirk !
"Can we show of your guns here"...."Oh you got tickets." My wife started laughing so hard
Don't wish you were here, we all wish we were there with you guys the fun you are having is awesome. Poor Steve he always looks in the background like he is dumbfounded like what the heck are they talking about. Funny, feel bad for Dirk sucks to get hurt love these videos bugle on brothers😎
Hate that for Dirk you could tell he was in a ton of pain coming out. Can't wait to see his video shooting one with mouth tab he's the man! Love watching you guy's
Love how Trent walks into the doctors with face paint on and a benchmade knife swingin around his neck. Lmao!! 😂
I know you guys think we are all so bored because you haven’t gotten into elk. All I would say is don’t worry at least for me and I am sure I am not alone. Yes we all love seeing screaming bulls coming in, but we understand it’s hunting. The fact that you guys are struggling reassures to the rest of us how difficult hunting elk with a bow can be. Plus I love the brotherhood aspect you bring to hunting, because that is more important then any animal. My fondest memories are with my family and hunting bros in the mountains. I know it’s probably easy for me to say that, because I am not trying to capture my hunts on film. I can only image the pressure that comes with that, and if I can bring any peace to your minds it would be this. I would bet some serious coin most of us would still watch you guys even if you didn’t kill another bull all season. You have a way of bringing us all into the bro crew. Keep the chins up and the costumes out!
P.S. I think you guys have started a opening day tradition we all hope gets repeated!
P.S.S Dirk is a BA! Dislocated my shoulder before. Worse pain I have ever been in! No way I would of been in as good of spirits as he was. Freakin Champ! Give that man a medal!
I sure hope you heal up quick Dirk! Your a tough cookie! Great sense of humor!! Wish you the best!!
It is no fun trying to camp out when you are hurt. I got bucked off my horse putting in our hunting camp and I had to wake my husband up to help me roll over in my sleeping bag. It was not a fun experience. I'm glad Dirk got healed up and continued the season with his hunting success.
Dirk, I admire how you figure a way to still elk hunt this season, with the mouth release. Your the man!
You guys rock! Never count out what you may not know though. You know the forest, things don’t always make sense logically out there. Don’t count out what people have experienced! Peace, love, and happiness!
Darn it sucks for Dirk...get well soon big guy. Steve and Trent go kick some butt and can’t wait for the next video
Feel better Dirk! Its probably best that you took that little spike down, he may have started a broadhead resistant sub species of elk! Looking forward to the next one.
The bromance is so thick Steve looks like an awkward third wheel.
That looks like it could be rotator cuff. Really hope it isn't. Hope you recovered alright Dirk. You are the man...Macho man!
As someone who just went through shoulder surgery. I felt every ounce of pain he was in. And man he was doing a hell of a job not showing how much pain he was actually in. Shoulder injuries just plain suck.
Wow that's a bummer Dirk, I hope you are feeling better, Trent and Steve I hope you get a monster bull for Dirk.
Can't wait for the rest of this season. Great job guys getting Dirk to medical help. Sorry his hunt was cut short. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Y’all have had a rough season. Hope Dirk recovers quickly. You guys just keep pushing forward though. That’s awesome.
Field First Aid: (What would you do?): #1. Sling to support. #2 Secure the arm so it doesn’t move. (You don’t want broken bone to keep ripping up the inside..if it’s broken). Use some kind of strap or shirt around body to hold arm tight to torso. Reminder: Keep a tourniquet available, slip and fall on a broken tree branch and pierce your Femoral Artery and you can bleep out in less then 3 minutes! You’ll pass out before then! Know your first aid.
Thanks Dirk for reminding us to be prepared!! 👍
Dirk shouldn't have made those sasquatch jokes and they wouldn't have jumped him lol
jacob patterson 😂😂😂😂
Tough tough luck man, hoping all the best to Dirk and a speedy recovery. Really impressed that you all were so helpful in getting him out and to the doc. Great great job.
Trent and Steve amazing job getting Derek to the ER.
You guys have such a good time in the field I would love to hunt with you guys
Dale Steinecke who’s Derek?
Hope you heal quick. I I broke my ankle on the last load packing out my son's bull. Down for my hunt this year but was worth it he got a nice 7 point and we made some great memories.
Glad Dirk wasn’t hurt worse 👍🏼. Don’t sweat the slow hunting days and footage. I only speak for myself, but I’m committed to watching the show good, bad, and ugly. I could easily go watch a kill shot compilation video anytime. I’m here for the story...the comradery...the highs/lows. Being from the east but having hunted out west it’s just fun to see the landscape, and the struggle of wilderness survival. I can almost smell the evergreens 🌲 😂 Keep up the good work...we ain’t goin anywhere!!
Lol Steve is like im just here with my Popcorn lol
Dirk it won't be the same with out you. Get well soon. My prayers are with you and the rest of the gang be safe
Ouch but tough and that was the thing to do go home and rest. Even hurt Dirk still stayed funny. My hero
Well Dirk was the only one with a made for movies face. So I expect the rest of this series to be on radio.
Jimmie Emerson hahaha! It was the beard huh? 😆😆😆
Man Dirk is one tough...hunter. That is painful. So note to self...when falling with a heavy pack, in a creak dont take a chance trying to catch yourself just let it go? Lol
had similar incident and ended up having rotator cuff repaired yet thanks to great surgeon, therapy, God's mercy I'm back in top form! wishing the best for Derk!
Glad for the news in the shoulder. Heel quickly!! Can't agree more for creek crossings, always am careful and take it slow as much as I hate to in big crossings to establish my footing. (A fan of gaiters here too so that helps)
I watched this all play out on IG, and what a hard thing to deal with during hunting season that could happen to any one of us! But you know what, Dirk handled that like a true sportsman and did not let it keep him down! The way he came back and overcame it was absolutely awesome and super inspiring! Just goes to show you that the only thing that can keep you down is yourself! Thank you guys so much for everything you do and teach us, and thanks again for sharing!!! 💪💪💪
I slipped on a log a couple of years ago, fell in the creek. I didn't have time too catch my self. Dirk bro, I felt for you. Loving the series.
I really hope that everyone is ok, prays going your way.
What a bummer for Dirk to get hurt. Hopefully he heals up for his other hunts.
Looking forward to seeing what you bring to us tomorrow!!
I'm glad to see that the first time you guys packed something out whole it was Dirk. All kidding aside prayers for a speedy recovery to Dirk.
Dangit! Hope Derk heals quickly. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
Dirk, I am feeling your pain! I went into archery season with a fully detached labrum on my string pulling shoulder. On the second to last day of season it took everything I had to get my bow back. I was in surgery a week later after harvesting my bull. Now it’s the long road to recovery and I will be counting my blessings next September! Can’t wait to see your story play out.
Been waiting for this to see what happened. This Wyoming hunt for laughs has been one of my favorites and even when it went wrong they still were finding the humor.
That’s rough when a friend and teammate goes down. Glad you were all together to get Dirk out.
Glad Dirk's doing ok. Never fun taken a fall.
Damn heartbroken. Sad to see the mighty Dirk get hurt. Speedy recovery man
Curty it’s scuba hit me up
Dirk hope your healed quickly. Ready for Steve and Trent to fill some tags.
Good friends are amazing to have on hunts with you
Wow. I no what kind of pain one can fill. In the shoulder since I had to torn ligements under my rotator cuff. I wish him well heal fast. I was in the doctor off on a Tuesday harvest my Tile elk on a Thursday and on meds the rest of the weekend.
Didn't look like it was still dislocated, but certainly could have been at the beginning and popped right back in. Causes some damage when it does, maybe muscle tears and ligament damage. Good luck and hopefully a speedy recovery.
Terrible to see hope all is well and everyone back in action ASAP! Stay strong and pray for a speedy recovery. Prayers
That was a pretty cool doctor. Seemed to know a thing or two about hunting. You should take him out next year!
Things can change for good or bad quickly, glad it wasn't worse. Looking forward to more bulls.
Nice to have you back ..hope all is well..
I sure hope Dirk healed up to get back on the mountain chasing big bulls! My prayer is for him to have a speedy recovery with no long term damage.
My first impression was rotator cuff injury. Took me 8 months of rehab after surgery for mine, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Get well soon, brotha.
Glad it wasn’t broke get well soon Dirk God speed!
Prayers for Dirk and fast recovery. Be safe out in wood one slip can take your season away pretty fast.
Wow, elk tags and health insurance. You guys rock.
That was awesome, all except for Dirk being hurt, but the Doc was awesome...put him to the back of the line 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love all of the BRO elk series. Great guys. But if you want to call in bulls all the way early season, you need the elk nut app. Specifically the advertising bugle sequence. Look it up. You will not be disappointed!
Prayers up for Dirk for quick and complete healing!
Dirk you are the man. Positive thru everything. Get well and give em hell. Don’t give up fellas. As we know that’s elk hunting.
Steve seemed to wanna go back and show that rock whats what!! 😂 Sorry that happened Dirk. Crossing creeks is my worst enemy. Hoping for a fast recovery.
I did the same thing in the Colorado backcountry 12 miles from the truck one time. I set my shoulder myself. Tore ligaments. I know the pain. It's a long time to feel better, even longer to feel "normal".
Another great series. Thanks for bringing us with you.
Hope Dirk heals quickly
This is a real shame to have happened to Dirk but it's just one of those things SORRY. Knowing this man he will soon be back out there with his bugle and filling elk tags. Going to put you in my prayers for the betterment of your shoulder and keep up that positive attitude. Glad the diagnoses of your shoulder wasn't that terrible but very happy you'll be back in the woods soon and God bless.
Not going anywhere can’t wait to see the rest of the series.
That really stinks about Dirk, I hope he recovers really quickly and gets back at the doing what he loves. Love that you guys have so much compassion for your sport but yet always have safety in mind Keep On Keepin On. Can't wait till the next episode.
Oh man that sucks so bad. Sorry Dirk that really sucks buddy. Hope you get to hunt more before the year is over
Nacho Trente! LOL how funny will it be when Doc sees that vid! Dirk, you are a tuff cookie.
The episode everyone was anticipating, but no one wanted. Looking forward to your hunt update Dirk!
"Its getting pretty squatchy around here".... Love it
That's why I keep my life flight subscription up to date, $75.00 a year, dirt cheap insurance.
That's the one ticket you always want to have....but never want to use lol
I hear you... I dislocated and broke my left shoulder and broke my right elbow this year. Hang in there. Itll get better, just takes time.
Hope Dirk got healed up good. I fell this year in CO in creek too and busted my cam. Enjoy your guys humor.
Dang Dirk. I know this happened a while ago but I hope you are doing and healing great. Love you and Trent together. Good friends are hard to find and it looks like all of you are great friends.
Macho man with the elbow off the top ropes! 😳 Hope he heals up quickly.
Love Wyoming. Even the Drs understand Elk hunting. Half the state shutdown down during elk sesson.
Prayers for a speedy heal brother. Glad it wasn't worse
I think the Dr. was trying to say "leave Dirk behind, I'm your new front man."
Thanks for all the content during the lockdown guys. Makes me miss home and my Colorado mountains
Here’s hoping Dirk gets healthy for all the rest of his hunts. I can’t wait for more Wyoming.
Ha! Was Trent a little buzzed!?! Good stuff!
Come on trint you couldn’t make the poor guy a shoulder sling. LoL
Tough luck Dirk. That really sucks!!!
I'm glad nothing was broken!
That must suck bout the should hopefully he can do his other hunts no problem wish him a full recovery and a fast one
Poor Steve, he has to follow these guys around trying to hunt!
Keep watching? Well hell yes! It's called hunting. Banner seasons are special. All seasons are banner because you get to do what you love to do. I wouldn't have continued to bowhunt 37 consecutive years if I was expecting anything different. Looking forward to the episode of Steve bouncing around losing things out of his chest rig. Might make you wonder what the hell happened for a grown man to hoot and jump around.... LOL
Im here for the season boys! Enjoy every episode... I like these informal uncut also, real deal....Thanks guys
Dang man. Sorry to get hurt but best choice to not push it. Good luck on healing quickly.
About four years ago I went out to shovel snow of the sidewalk so my wife wouldn’t slip and fall while walking to her car. Walking around the corner of the house I slipped on snow covered ice by the downspout. I dislocated my shoulder, tore my rotator cuff and broke my elbow. Took about six months to get back to about 90%. Lesson learned. Maybe remove the boat from the garage and let my wife park in there. Oh no, I’ll be more careful lol!
Really glad dark is okay but injuries like that could have happened to any of us we just have to remember to play it safe not easy to do all the time
