It's "Bayanihan", Finn, and what is Philippines known for, amazing Filipino trait, one that we are proud of. Great that everything is well taken care of in your land with regards to documentation, right of way, cemented roads to b built. Everything is falling into place, even planning to buy/trade for a pick-up truck, wise decision if living uphill with still uncleared pathways. We'll miss blue thunder, of course, but all is good. Excited for your nxt vid about house plan/design and all. Way to go, Finn and Sherlyn, proud of all your accomplishments. Hi Finn, good luck with the hunt for your dream 4x4. Just warning, in that kind of mud, even 4x4 can struggle unless you have the right tyres. All manufacturers sell their 4x4 with smooth highway spec tyres for noise comfort and fuel economy. Factor in buying some good open block tread 4x4 tyres. The traction control is pretty good on most high end 4x4 pickups now, even better find one with a rear differential lock. Lowering the tyre pressure (even down to 15psi) in slippery mud roads helps a lot with traction even on the standard tyres. So a good portable 12v compressor to run off the car is beneficial because you need to pump them back up on the sealed road. In australia, anybody who 4x4 carries one because fuel station with airpump can be 100's of kilometers away.
Good Morning Finn and Sherlyn. I love Jake's little boots. Exciting times. I hope you find the right truck for you both. Lovely, the locals dug you out of the mud. Thank you for sharing. The sweetcorn looked good. Have a wonderful weekend.

Every now and then, she takes me to open houses showcase properties to prospect homebuyers. I think you and Sherlyn are on the right track. House building is a huge undertaking that involves "Big Money". Making your vision a reality needs good planning and preparation. Sketching your dream house and get advise to an architect helps you figure out the design that fits your land. After the architect, next is your civil engineer - get one that is licensed so when they screw up, you can sue them, your leverage. When Covid hit the Philippines two years ago a lot of people panicked and they just let the banks repossessed their vehicles and went back home. The banks have vehicles in storage that have almost no miles on them and they’re selling them cheap. The only thing is they’ve been sitting so you should have a mechanic check out anything before you consider buying it but it is a cheap option.
@@markjoseph196 Banks that offer repossessed cars for sale in the Philippines include the following: EastWest Bank. Maybank. Metrobank. PSBank. RCBC. Security Bank.

Go with Nissan, Finn! I remember having Nissan Frontier 4x4 manual, I bought as a 3rd owner and the the 14th year the truck never gave me a trouble. Engine was never overhauled until I sold it because it had served the purpose. The engine was QD32, the best in my opinion.
Folks James of My PI Dreams purchased his lot which was just like jungle and then built his house and garden it's so beautiful what he has created and sure his site will be of great interest to you , like I said his knowledge of building regulations in PI is so good plus he knows many good companies that are used in building a house ,if you watch some of his videos your see many different styles of houses that he filmed for friends he knows through his channel who have also purchased lots on this gated area they are living in .
Good for you, Finn; you are truly in the right path--taking your time to look into all aspects (like the Right of Way, the road which is being paved leading to your uphill land) before building your house. Thru the different channels--lawyer, a civil engineer (which is a must), local/municipal officials, local farmers' help, your dream house and further land development will come into a reality soon. Just be patient in doing your homework and good luck in this great project. Also, best wishes on your trip back to Iceland with Sherlyn. Bon voyage!🤗💞👏
We just moved here to Negros Occidental and have been following your videos for years now, very good with explaining the house and rights as well as looking for a truck. Our house just got built in Bago and we are thinking about solar, thanks again for posting
Get a used economical Truck that is less expensive. I recommend you carry some pieces of ropes or wood for mud recovey, to help your front wheel drive car. BTW like your channel 👍
Congratulations Finn & Sherlyn, Your area is beautiful. Yes, definitely buy a pick up truck. Second hand truck is good- it doesn't have to be brand new, anyway you'll be working on a dirt. Rugged. Buy working boots . Kumander Daot have a nice truck. Nissan Navarra is good.😀
It’s exciting to see once the construction started and the progress of your big house project. I’m wondering what type of a house you’re going to construct? Is the motif native like amakan walls and nipa roofs, log cabin style or all concrete with glass windows? With a picturesque view you have, a balcony will also be great for an early morning coffee or late relaxing afternoon calamansi drink. Can’t wait Finn and Sherlyn to follow your journey but first a second visit to Iceland. This time, it’s not winter but late summer. The country will be green and sunny…
All the best my friends am glad that you guys are taking the necessary steps to prevent any future mishaps or Scams in purchasing your Land have an awesome Adlaw Peace out Sa Dios Love Lots
Mitsubishi Strada!! Wow! Absolutelly the best car which you can get in the Philippine for the purposes to carry both persons & suplies for building a house! The motor is the best to stay in a condition to last "for ever!" Very nice to drive and much more best things in this car! Highly recommend!!
a lot of people said to me mitsubishi isn't a good car compare to honda & toyota, but boy i have proven them wrong cuz my mitsubishi galant, the company's version of honda accord & toyota camry is still going strong @ 220K miles on it ...... but i always put the most expensive gas on it & the most expensive oil when i do oil change ..... & it's hard to complain when it runs really smooth @ almost 15 years old .....
It’s getting very exciting now, with all your lined up projects. Way to go Fin and Sherlyn. Btw Fin, visited Iceland last March, oh boy you have a beautiful and enchanting country. We’re lucky to witness the northern lights too ♥️😍👍🏻
Hey Finn, Sherlyn, Jake, friends and subscribers.... About if, you keep Blue Thunder if you get a lift kit for BT and higher tires as well of course As far as color white is the best for the Filipino climate because it doesn't fade and the clear protection doesn't peel off either Front wheel drive should do but you need higher clearance, positive traction and traction control to help you get around...similar to what is use to handle the snow...I grew in Chicago dealing with the snow and I was there for more than 30 yrs and almost 20 yrs in Florida where we deal with sandy off the road situations... Hope everything works out for you guys Have a great time...
Best to higher your schocks, have to use a modified bigger longer gas type schocks can be adjusted depending on dirt and rocky road, and a customized tires for better traction, slippery and mudy portions
Finn it is called ‘right of way’ instead of “way of right”. It’s like your right to speak or your right to fart. It’s a right of yours. The way is that right. Nissan or Toyota are the most reliable choices for trucks.
Finn I live in Dulag Leyte I have a Ranger Wildtrack 4x4 with a 3.2 Highest stock clearance in the PI My wife and I go anywhere in all conditions we Never get stuck Buy a Ford.👍
Get the most fuel efficient Auto... go for fuel consumption. Most new pickups will do what you need your not doing hardcore off-road. Go for build quality, Nissan, Mitsy, Ford, Toyota, Isuzu are awesome etc as they are all pretty good for what you need. Buy something that isn’t to noisy,
Congratulations to you both. How exciting... As a long time subscriber, I hope in the next year or two to visit. If you two will be so kind as to welcome my wife and I...🙏 Aloha
Good morning Inspiring Couple. Hello Jake. Wow beautiful sceneries in ur new found land. The Best of Luck to both you. More good blessing to come & good health. Maybe you both spend Christmas in Iceland. Nice & praying for.more success in your dreams come true.🙏✌❤🐶
You should also check that if they are building a road that is an actual National Road then you may need to give up some of your land that is alongside it, usually 1.5 meters and are also not allowed to build within 3 meters. I had this issue in Davao where the access road to our village is part of the land we bought and we had to give it up. Fortunately the land owners gave us an extension at the back so we didn't lose out. Good Luck.
Finn get the Navara Pro4x you will be amazed the 0 gravity, aircon best, and sound system. It’s dual manual and auto it’s 4x4 too . I love what I got . It’s top of the line
Kuya Finn Finn. Please make sure to securely store ur title and the engineer assessor's blueprint of ur land. The Philippine government can take ur land for whatever purpose it sees fits its interest. Good Luck buddy!
A suggestion on the Brand of pick up you should get is a Toyota Hi lux pick up power by diesel. If you go into Komander Daot channel you could see he is using a Toyota pick up. It is a very reliable pick up. This is a suggestion only. You should research on different brand and check which one is reliable. Good luck.
My recommendation is to not end up with a short pickup bed due to going with a super cab Forget the back seat You have you car if you need a back seat.
Personally would go for the truck that has alot of mechanics in your area with lots of parts availability. That is most important when living in an island. Thanks for sharing!
Looks fantastic Finn hope all goes well for you both the views look amazing aswell be nice to see your family home in the future my friend good luck 👍.
We have owned many pickups for our construction business. All of our trucks will get stuck easy on wet clay roads like that. You will need to get a real 4 x 4 which can get stuck pretty easy too. Or... Motorcycle.
I missed a lot...Congratulations, Snow family! Is Toyota in your budget? They've always made great trucks. Nissan is a less expensive option! Definitely need 4WD or AWD. Second-hand, reliable reputation, late model with a warranty and low miles on the odometer should also be just like a brand new pickup truck. Too bad Blue Thunder isn't made for "off-grid" terrain.

I’d go second hand that’s been well maintained owned by a older couple. Buying new is always a big downfall in depreciation the first few years. I know from experience! I’ve bought over $310,000cad of new vehicles the past 19 years and the only vehicles that actually held there value was to numbered Mustangs I had. a 2008 Mustang Bullit and a 2013 Boss 302. The rest fell to less then half price in less then 5 years. It ain’t a wise thing todo buying new unless you Plan to drive them and never sell them ever.
Finn Snow that would be great if you could make a video about all the documents. I think that must be one of the biggest difficulties in the Philippines. I bought my first land as an "Oha" with no right of way. What a nightmare. I have since moved and is hard to re-sell the land. I think it's information that would benefit your viewers.
Wow why your so generous fin since day 1 i was amaze about your vlog and now your helping to sement the road even the government can't do or dont have action regarding that road there promise and promise but couldn't work at it.
I'm also excited to see how your house will look like up there in dauin. But I hope to see you when I take my vacation next year in Dumaguete. Even just a picture with you would be awesome!
I would like to see as well the constructive plan of your house with Sherlyn. Could be different than the Armstrong family house but their ideas was not bad unless if you want to have a balcony.
Hi Finn.. I am Fil-Canadian.. I am a nurse still working here.. We will be retiring in Negros in 2 years. We bought an investment land in Dauin ., sight unseen i just trust my real estate agent though my brother went there to check it out. We also bought a land up in Sagbang Valencia to build our dream retirement home. I suggest you buy a manual transmission truck if you are driving in high elevation regularly otherwise it will be a problem with the engine. We will be there January 2023 I hope we can meet you and Sherlyn. As we are also building a house we want to buy a truck to use for hauling and as our land is up in the mountain too it will be more reliable. I personally liked the Mitsubishi Strada.. though I am just willing to pay for second hand.. I never bought a brand new car .. its not practical.. I have been seeing lots of second hand truck on Marketplace but its in Cebu area..
I just hope the land owner will fulfill their promise on the development on road right of way until its finish, even when the land is fully paid. Just a thought.......

I'll lend you my Hilux! haha
haha bring him over!
@@FinnSnowVlogs I'll have to come visit you! Haha
Good luck.
Wooow The View is extra ordinary Right design and it will be amazing sir ,Hope Someday i could visit it
My recommendation is to not end up with a short pickup bed due to going with a super cab Forget the back seat You have you car if you need a back seat.
Amazing view 🤩, we are neighbour soon. We can’t wait to get there soon to retire. Currently in Uk
the best pickup to buy is a toyota HILUX indestructable will last for years,4 wheel drive a must,
Personally would go for the truck that has alot of mechanics in your area with lots of parts availability.
Or... Motorcycle.
Wow..I am rooting for you Finn
The mad looks so nice though. Plant will grow nicely there. Love it! Congratulations!
Water supply, one of the most important things to consider if you want to do farming especially during the dry season.
A water reservoir will be ideal esp. rain water and a deep well of course
Some trivia:
The old name of Dauin is Duidain. Duidain is a place mentioned in the Book of Enoch.
What are you? An Ophirtard?
@@Lenilugz5406 So you know Ophir. If that is how you call the people of Ophir, then you are also Ophirtard.
@@wavemaker2077 No, not an Ophirtard but an Ophirtard basher.
@@Lenilugz5406 You are basically bashing yourself. That's dumb. Your name is perfect for you.
"Right of way" Love.
Finn..Don't believe a DEALER when they say WE WILL HELP YOU! I will HELP THEMSELVES!
Check the Isuzu carry truck. Cheap but it is realizable. Excellent for country road

God Bless ( his channel is called My PI Dream }
Yes, we watched him built his house from start to finished. He's an engineer too Finn. He's from South Carolina. He is based in Batangas. Check him in his channel My Pi Dream.
@@SanggumayVlogsOfficial Oh that's great yes James Tanner and he is from S.Carolina ,well glad you know him ,like I said I have known him for many years and you have a very good knowledgeable man ,hope you did not mind me recommending him to you both
I’d go second hand that’s been well maintained owned by a older couple.
Hi Finn, the color of our pick-up is like black grayish or ash. Better to have pick-up for buying furniture or house stuff.
Congrats Snow Family ♥️💕💕💕
Yes proper documents is very important when you buy a land property and among other things and hire a good lawyer
Ask for Jeremy at Nissan he did a great job for me last year when I bought my 2022 Nissan Truck! we love the truck so far!
You can create a food forest, Finn! Permaculture property. A Geoff Lawton kind of farm. Congratulations 👏 👏 👏
What a view you have plus cooler as well as you said.
Oh so excited and happy for u guys (Ragnar Lothbrok and Pocahontas) 😁🤙
A 4 x 4 it is for going up and down that rough terrain, Finn.
Go for Navara Pro 4X
Wow my father's family side is in Dauin, I love that place.......goid to hear that you invest a land in Dauin.. Ingatz always kuya...
Just drop by to say hello Finn and Sherlyn, and watching your previous vlogs w/o skipping any ads....
Enjoy your life out there my friend
Looking forward to videos of your house construction. Wishing your family in Iceland well and away from the volcanic eruption.
Right of way Finn not way of right
I just hope the land owner will fulfill their promise on the development on road right of way until its finish, even when the land is fully paid.
Just a thought.......
Who is the land owner?
