Alright, interesting... so basically: aoi = ee (Caoimhe) mh = v c = k ai = ee (Ciara, Niamh) éa = ay eá = aw (Shawn) S = Sh (Sinéad, Séamus) ... and then a little googling occurred and thaught me it's not quite as easy as that. Isn't pronunciation a weird thing altogether? Silent letters all over the place, broad and slender vowels and consonants, diphtongs... tons of rules and even more exceptions - who can blame people for mispronouncing?

Well, if you use too many letters picked at random and either silent or not pronounced as they normally are, don't be annoyed people don't say it right. Cillian, for example, C before I, e, y, is pronounced like S in every GD language known to man, so Silly yen. But no, it's Killan. Jayzus.
Except where it isn't like in Italian where its pronounced Ch. Or in Classical Latin, that didn't have a soft C. or other Celtic languages like Welsh. Irish phonetics is totally consistent within its own rules, for example C is always a hard C. The same can't be said for English.
