- When I was only 4 years old something happened to me so traumatic that I felt that I had no choice but to abandon my family and leave home.

► Weeble
Weebles is a range of children's roly-poly toys originating in the US in Hasbro's Playskool division on July 23, 1971. Tipping an egg-shaped Weeble causes a weight located at the bottom-center to be lifted off the ground. Once released, gravity brings the Weeble back into an upright position. Weebles have been designed with a variety of shapes, including some designed to look like people or animals.
The catchphrase "Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down" was used in advertising during their rise in popularity in the 1970s and during successive relaunches in the early 2000s.
► John Menzies
The company was founded by a bookseller, John Menzies, with his first shop in Princes Street, Edinburgh, in 1833. In 1941, the company's branch in Greenock was destroyed in the Greenock Blitz.
In January 1998, the company closed its principal branch in Edinburgh, although the head office continued to occupy the building. The whole retail operation was sold to WH Smith in May 1998, to enable Menzies to concentrate on its distribution business
► Woolworths
Woolworth (officially Woolworths Group PLC) was a listed British company that owned the High Street retail chain Woolworths. It also owned other companies such as the entertainment distributor Entertainment UK, and book and resource distributor Bertram Books.
The Woolworths store chain was the main enterprise of the group. Originally a division of the American F. W. Woolworth Company until its sale in the early 1980s, it had more than 800 stores in the UK prior to closure. Woolworths sold many goods and had its own Ladybird children's clothing range, WorthIt! value range and Chad Valley toys. They were also well known for selling Candyking pick 'n' mix sweets. It was sometimes referred to as Woolies by the UK media, the general public, and occasionally in its own television adverts.

Thanks!
Eh ! Have a beer for the holidays on me. haha
Oh wow, Thank you so much Paul. That is very kind of you and I really appreciate it. 👍🏻
You have such a cool hometown! Dope mural at 3:45!
Aww cheers appreciate it, Newcastle under Lyme is like an 800 year old market town and there is a ton ace stuff that adore about growing up here, I still can't get over HG Wells lived here for a bit and we actually had a castle that some of it still remains here and if you mention Newcastle almost nobody as ever heard of it.
That was brilliant, just the right kind of madcap and the nostalgia was strong (I miss Woolworths). Thanks for the mention awesome to hear that you look forward to my Fat Fridays! ;)
I’ve enjoyed your videos for years Dave. But i’ve been especially loving the Fat Friday videos. So much so I go out to Iceland etc and get the same thing you’re having and watch your video as i’m eating mine 😀 All the best mate 👍🏻
Merry Christmas Dave. I also ran away at 4 to the local Dairy Queen. Apparently I caused them some trouble, because once they realized I was unaccompanied they gave me iron ons for t-shirts and showed me the door, which upset quite a few people lol.
Oh wow that's probably better than my story and I'm glad I'm not the only who did this kind of thing, thanks for the nice comment and watching.
Amazing video mate bloody epic !! 🤣And always great to see more Loch content. Merry Xmas !
Same to you two and always glad when you watch and like the video.
I use to watch lawnboys post1975 back when he was doing retro video games. Ur accent is easy to understand wait I'm a castle lad too at least its not a stokie accent.
Ta, I don't know what my accent is to be honest, I've had so many people say I don't sound like where I'm from, was talking to a bloke in a pub who was actually born in Newcastle town centre and he said I don't sound like I'm from here so I have no idea lol, nice to see somebody else who watched Lawnboyspost though that's pretty cool, he still does a lot of retro stuff though.
Love you Dave, have a great Christmas mate 👍
Aww it thank you and it warms my heart sow much to see people from the DVD Commentaries days, I had such great fun doing those commentaries and still message the guys all the time, in fact I just had a message from Curtis like 15 mins ago, cheers for the lovely comment and hope you have a great time too.
Merry Christmas Dave ! from Canada. Btw the way I luv your accent asmr to my ears. I
ikr I'm a Florida a redneck and I understand every word Dave says. People who can't understand others accents have lived very sheltered lives.
Was talking a Canadian lady the other day and she never had trouble understanding me and I'd be drinking also but wasn't expecting you to say I was like ASMR I'll take that and I love ASMR too, thanks for watching and all the best from the UK.
Cheers thank you, I'm almost a British redneck I think I genuinely like beer and NASCAR and totally agree with what you said about sheltered lives.
Ayy what a Christmas treat! 🎉 great to see a loch video! Pure chaos and I loved it! 😂🥳🎅🏻
I guess it was chaotic didn't think about it like that but good call, always good when people like post, hope you Rob and Matt are OK and have a great Christmas.
@@davetheloch it was the jump from the story to the Karaoke that got me! Amazing rap skills by the way! 😂 where was that at? We need to meet up for that drink in the new year all of us! 😁 have the best Christmas Dave! 🎉🎅🏻
Happy Christmas Dave! Massively jumped into Shell’s comment here! Hello everyone! Loved this Dave, you’re the best Christmas present this year! Hope we are going to have a big year for the LOCH in 2023!
Keep it Loched!
So glad to see you comment, just had a message from Curtis from College and message Tom all the time also, always nice to see some people I love still being around and sending messages and watching my stuff, my boss just messaged me and said I can go in work Christmas eve instead of Christmas day so that's nice will have three days off, hope you have a good one too and all the best as always.
Ha ha what a brilliant video - When I saw the title I had visions of you, aged 4, sat by your front door with a little suitcase. You really went all out on the 'leaving home' front. Appreciate the Eric G graphic at the end!
No bother always glad to give a shout out to people and so glad that people actually watch these videos and enjoy them, thanks for sticking around and hope you have a great Christmas.
@@davetheloch love your videos Dave - great nostalgia!
First 😂
In all seriousness the story actually ended with 4 year old Dave being ransomed back for the grand total of one Greggs steak bake.
Haha 😂
Love this mate, keep up the great work and videos!!
Oh nice one cheers will have to pull my finger out and do another video, got some ideas so got no excuse, thanks for the nice comment.
Nice to see you yesterday Dave it’s Steve the busker by the way haha
Did you see that WH Smith is closing down shame really I have a lot of good memories browsing h the books and DVDs and even finding a few cheap DVDs circa 2010 when they had a big sale
I where you running away from home again yesterday is that why you were in town haha
Yep it was ace to see a Loch fan in the wild, really surprised me, I love a chat so great excuse shame I couldn't stop longer, yep can't beat WH Smiths I must a spent a small fortune in there over the years, yep it did have me running away from home vibes thinking about it, did you say it was channel 25 on the CB?
Yea ch 25 is the local net although some also hang out on the old calling ch 19 too
Also if you search on yt for mr moonraker cb radio that’s a guy from mow cop called mikey moonraker he’s a bit of a local cb legend he could probaly use a tandy handheld and still be blasting your windows through anywhere in the north of the uk
He regularly gets out to Liverpool for example
I really must get my self a portapac again I used to walk about dxing around Madeley and could here people in Birmingham or if the skip was in I could get out to Germany with a break and just here the calls of “break?” “Jah breaky break”
Great video again Dave, did you ever ring Childline when your parents wouldn't let you have something? I did twice. The first time it was over a kinder surprise. The second time was when they wouldnt buy me an 18 rated tape I saw in WHSmith
I think I rang it once just purely for the heck of it and just put the phone down because it was a free number, but excellent reasons by the way especially the the second one and thanks for the nice comment.
have a great xmas dave.. you legend.. proper good karry-o-key there.. respect.. funny how that girl just totally walked by as you were giving it full on.. she didn't even bat an eye as if she saw that kinda thing everyday.. haha.. (btw I have a new twitter account.. so if you get a new follower.. it'll be me)
I think she was pretty hammered or something she went on not after me and it's not easy for me to say but I was like way way better, thanks for saying I was good, I love singing that song amazingly it's one of the few songs I can remember all the words to from the top of my head amazingly,, will look out for the new follower also but if I don't notice you know what I am like.
Welshfilmbuff, here. A bit late, I know, but I'm glad you are still posting the ocassional LOCH video. Do you still see the old DVD Commentaries gang?
Nice to see some of the regulars knocking around, I WhatsApp them quite a few times a week, I saw Curtis really recently, and Stu a few months ago, haven't seen Tom for a while he moved to America, really glad to see your comment, will have to try and make more videos/commentaries.
