Oh I got a big smile when I saw the speedy stitcher.. my dad used something similar when I sailed with him for five years back in the 70's.. I am not sure if it is the same model but it was pretty similar.
Every sailor should have a Speedy Stitcher. I just used mine to repair the clew of our jib which had a seam ripped apart in seconds when we accidentally let it flog in a squall. Much easier than a needle and palm. BTW, we are on our second season of using canned meals as our main provisions after watching your canning video a couple years ago. As you said, it changed our life. For the better!
hello you are like someone i have known for years strange but true thank you for showing me the speedy stitcher and so much more it must be very difficult to interest so many people so often i always enjoy your blogs i am sorry i cannot give money as i am ill and have been that way for a long time but i have always enjoyed watching not only your blogs but so many other peoples as well all the best with a African leg of your travels ,
G'day Drake, I got one on my boat. A HOT TIP. You can allso ues an small drill & drillbit to make the holes if the matreareal is too thick to push the needle through. Gerard.
Thank you for your informative videos! I've been living on a 1985 Wauquiez Centurion 47 for just over a year now after binge watching your trip to Greenland which completely inspired me! Renewing refrigeration and freezer, replacing water maker membranes, repairing the generator and replacing the ac are the last major projects before I'm ready for action. Well of course new major projects will come up, but I'm catching fish and lobster anchored on a self-sufficient boat and loving every minute of it! Don't stop adventuring!
I so happy you have segment on your channel I have ordered so many items you have recomended and just ordered that speedy stitch it turns out I have to stitch some webbing on the exact same location as you just did and i did not want to take my sail rite machine up to the front of the boat. Thanks for that keep more of the boat goodies coming.
Thanks for showing us the speedy stitcher, it's such a great tool. I was wondering if you ever bought a walking foot sewing machine like the Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ for your sail repair you did in a previous episode? I came very close to buying a used Sailrite LSZ ( that was about two years old ) the other day, and in the last moment canceled. I decided to keep using my Singer Heavy Duty (like you have) and do some more projects until I really need the more industrial machine . I did make some nice cushion covers and upgrade my foam seats in my RV with my Singer HD and they came out great. I also did a test sew on a JUKI DNU 1541 the other day and wow that machine purred and is so nice to use. Some day!
FWIW, You forgot a step at 4:00 setting it up. After the thread comes out of the handle it should be wrapped around that metal post counter-clockwise so the tail end runs under the thread coming out of the handle. This keeps tension on it. 😊
Excelent thanks. I have a speedy stitcher and have used it on several small repairs. I have used waxed twine for these, but am running low on this material. I would be interested to know if you had any recommendations as to which type and weight of twine to use for various jobs, and possibly sources that they could be ordered from?
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll look into it. In the meantime, here an unaffiliated link: www.amazon.co.uk/Automatic-Speedy-Stitcher-Leather-Interior/dp/B000FXT814/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1685VG58HWF9P&keywords=speedy+stitcher&qid=1689240882&sprefix=speedy+stit%2Caps%2C352&sr=8-4
All good Drake or Mo., I can wait for you too set up your affiliate links. Do not forget all your favorite things. Every one needs a link. By the way , I bought a t- shirt. Would be nice for more men's choices. Maybe a Hoodie or long sleeve shirt. Just a thought.
Pins - pins. Not needles. Beyond that - excellent! You had me on pins and needles ;).

Thank you 👍
Very helpful, thanks Drake!
Love a speedy stitcher, great fix, sorry we won’t see you on your way sooth.

Very interesting lesson. Thank you. Take care down the Iberian coast 😮
Thanks. Very helpful.
Hope you both are doing well.
Excellent video again guys.
I have had the darn thing for many years. Now I know how to use it.
Awesome!!
Excellent tutorial. The tack on the side is the drag. Makes one loop around it and it will make the loop open on the correct side of the needle.
Nice Job!

Gerard.
We use one for many years, these are great to fix sails or even shoes.
Great for sewing vans back together

small victories. so rewarding
Thanks for the straight forward demo. If only I had read the instructions I would have known this, but your explanation was way better.
Thank you Drake !👍
What a great video, I am land bound but I need to make a tow strap for heavy equipment and you have shown me how, thank you very much
Great demo thanks, suggestion make the knot first then cut to make sure you give yourself enough twine to make a good knot.

You have a 12v ‘everything iron’?😊
Do you think you'll ever consider another boat that may no need as much tlc for your future sailing?
How come there is no link to buy the speedy sticher? Would like to buy one through your affiliate program if you have one.
