BoraCare is a borate salt based treatment for wood. This product is meant to treat wood to prevent damage from wood destroying insects and certain fungi and algae. BoraCare has many uses but we recommend it primarily to treat unfinished wood against wood destroying insects like carpenter ants and termites.
BoraCare needs to be applied to “nude” or raw wood, which is wood that doesn't have any finish or varnish or any treatments that would prevent the chemical from soaking into the grain.
When applied according to the label, BoraCare will be effective for many years.
BoraCare not only prevents pests from consuming the wood, it also prevents them from building tunnels over the surface of the wood.

Does it affect stain if you were to do this beforehand? I just finished a new deck and literally the second evening a swarm of termites hit it
So I have a open ceiling that has been stain and I can see the termites , what would be the product I should use. I see Bora Care is not recommended.

Just the video i am looking for! So now i have a question on how to use Bora Care - can the solution be used in a hot fogger or a cold fogger machine in order to reach small attic crawl space areas where i am unable to stand or crawl in the attic space?
No, Bora-Care is not made to be used in fogging machines.
Will it stain exterior wood on log cabin or will it dry clear?
It may leave a slight residue, but it will go away within 2-3 weeks.
