- Abstract / Semi-Abstract landscape painting using acrylic ink and watercolour.
I used a synthetic brush and a homemade dip pen to apply the ink, and a size 10 sable rigger for the watercolour paint,
140lb Saunders Waterford Rough 1/4 imperial sheet.

Thanks so much. I find this so relaxing to do between my wildlife paintings that are realistic and detailed.
Thanks so much. Yes, it is nice to have a relaxing change occasionally
Hello. I am a new subscriber, and so glad to find your channel through this video. I searched ink and watercolor, and was so excited to see you using bottled acrylic ink like this. I like daler rowney, and LOVE seeing how others use it. Of interest, I usually don't like background music of any kind, but really enjoyed this music and your talking a little as you did it. Thank you. All around enjoyed this so much. Just wonderful and hope to see more in the future. Sincerely, Paula.
Hi Paula, thanks for subscribing !! I’m glad you liked the video
Very Cool! Thank you Christopher
You’re very welcome ! 😊
You’re so talented… you make it look easy … you don’t seem to have an off putting ego..!! Inspiring
Thank you, John. That’s very kind of you to say
Beautiful job, so loose and you make that look so easy.
Thanks so much
That is really nice! I love the dark ink contrast with the soft watercolour sky and water.
Thanks so much !!
Wonderful! Thank you very much!
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching
Reallylove this!!
Thanks so much
Hoy he podido conocer su canal. Debo decir que naturalmente estoy suscrito y darle las gracias por su gran trabajo.
Arte maravilloso.
Gracias. Muy apreciado
Really like this mixed media. Had a go after Moira Huntley with pastels and watercolour but didn’t get that high contrast that the ink gives. Lovely 😊
Thanks Claire, it’s a nice technique to experiment with
I love the way your use mixed media. Thank you 😊
Thanks so much 😊
I love this, never thought of using ink before but your videos inspired me. For me, the first few strokes dictate what the painting will be mainly because I never have a plan in my head .
Many thanks from a "new to painting" viewer 😊
Glad to hear you’re inspired, ink and watercolour work well together!! I paint in a similar way to you, I usually have a rough idea of a subject, but then allow the painting to dictate the outcome.
Love it thanks
You’re welcome! Thanks so much for watching
Thank you, I would like to try in Sepia
Thanks very much. Sepia would work really well. I’d love to see it !!
Thank you!❤❤❤
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching 😊
I've been playing with the idea of trying ink with watercolors, is it water soluble ink you use? And how do you clean the ink off your brush after? Is it india ink ? There's so many different kinds I don't know which one to buy.
I used acrylic ink for this demo, but India ink works just as well. I don’t use my best watercolour brushes for ink, just cheaper synthetic brushes. Keep a pot of water nearby, the same as you would with watercolour and you can rinse the ink off.
@@ChrisStephenArt thank you, not the good brushes, got it.
I'm going to try as soon as I buy some ink
