Thanks, Chris! This is such an interesting technique. I tried this and had a lot of fun with it. I’m relatively new to your channel and am really enjoying spending time with your videos and learning from you. As always, thank you for being so generous with your time and your talent.
A really creative version of line and wash. Monotone and wash! I loved that you started with the dark skeleton of the piece. I remember my art teacher at high school showing all sorts of objects that could be used to make a mark. I can still remember him using pieces of so many objects to use in painting. Well done.
I enjoy sketching with a stick or twig. New to me: using wet paper and fashioning a point. Could try using both ends of the twig to create different marks. Must do.
Bonjour... Quelle belle leçon je reçois aujourd'hui, juste è l'encre je trouvais déjà cela très beau, mais, en ajoutant la couleur cela a réveillé touts la splendeur du paysage. MERCI !!!
Thanks. I get asked that question a lot. I’m working on a course of fully narrated lessons, not sure when they will be done, but I will post some on UA-cam
Love your techniques with the stick! Absolutely !❤
Thanks Janet. Much appreciated 😊

Thanks Sewall. It is a nice technique, you can have a lot of fun with it !!
I love this. I am a huge fan of water colours and inks. I loved the painting even at the very different stages.
Thank you, Anna. To be honest, I possibly overworked this one, I should have stopped a bit earlier. It’s too much of a fun process!!

Thanks Bonnie. I agree with your art teacher, anything that makes an interesting mark can be used. It’s also fun to experiment
So calming, feels like a post EMDR session!

I have to say, your twig painting is better than my brush painting, nice one, food for thought, thanks

Your work is inspirational. Side question, what palette are you using?
Thank you. The flat palette is a printing tray, the watercolour palette is made by Frank Herring
I like very much. Very interesting this technique with à stick. What kind of ink do you use, please ? Indian ink or acrylic ink ?
Thanks Pascale, glad you liked it. I used Indian ink in this one, but acrylic ink works just fine
@@ChrisStephenArt Thanks Christopher for your quick reply ! I’m going to try.
