- Evangelist Billy Graham now stands immortalized in the U.S. Capitol.
After nearly a decade of persistent efforts by North Carolina lawmakers, Graham's statue finds its place, reflecting his profound impact on American society.
Crafted by a North Carolina artist, the statue captures Graham in a moment of reflection, cradling an open Bible-a symbol synonymous with his unwavering commitment to sharing the Gospel. Inscribed at the base are the poignant verses, John 3:16 and John 14:6, encapsulating the essence of his life's work.
"He believed the Bible cover to cover. Our family is honored that our earthly father will be here in this Capitol pointing future generations to our heavenly father and his son the Lord Jesus Christ," said his son, the Reverend Franklin Graham.

Lol... it's nothing. Just a sculpture. Just like taking a photograph. No difference. Sculptures and photos are images of things or people.

I was privileged to attend a Billy Graham crusade. I only wished he would have given a longer message. Can’t say that about any other pastor I’ve ever heard. (Many times I’m thinking, “When is he going to wrap this up?”)

The Rev. Billy Graham may have led many to Jesus but how many stayed with Him?
_"You shall not make idols for yourselves or erect an image or pillar, and you shall not set up a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God."_ - *Leviticus 26:1*
True believers were not baptized into the name of Billy Graham, nor Paul, nor Peter, nor John, nor Moses, nor Abraham. We aren't even to make images of anything in Heaven or Earth and we cannot depend on our minds to properly represent an image of God.
I have very little doubt in my mind that Billy Graham himself would have protested this and spoken poorly of it's existence. I already know a lot more passages of scripture both new and old testament that he would have been able to use to condemn this statue.
No one is bowing down to his image, the statue will be a reminder of what he lived for, when future generations ask "whose status is this" reference will be made to his life of ministry to Christ. That is a good thing.
