    I have a 2011 Veloce 2.0 Jtdm in Marranello red - it’s gorgeous, and I’m generally delighted with it (it’s my 3rd Alfa). It performs really well - in Dynamic mode it’s very quick. I had an Audi A6 previously- and I must say I prefer my Alfa. It’s not as good as my favourite car, which was an Alfa 156 Sportwagon, but there’s no denying that the G is a very compelling, and quite beautiful car.

      Oh very nice, wow third one they are wonderful cars to drive in dynamic. My diesel is the 140 bhp variant and it is fun. There is also the QV model which I hope to review. Those saloons were top cars even the 159 did well. The G has done well for Alfa. I’ll be making a push to the limit video with the G on a country road

    I'm thinking of buying one, not keen on the Diezel version, I'd rather go for the petrol. I've always loved Alfa-Romeo's but never actually owned one. Everyone always (at least in my country) gets worried about part availability and dealer network, but Alfa-Romeo, in my opinion, is one of those car brands that you should buy with your heart, not your head, plus you don't see one around every street corner. There is just something about them that you can't really explain or put your finger on. I heard people say, in many Alfa-Romeo reviews, that they give you that feeling, that fizz when you sit behind an Alfa steering wheel, like you know you're in something special and different, and I've always chosen car brands that's unique and not the same ordinary brands that everybody usually buy, just because it's a bit cheaper or easier to maintain. You only live once, right? I currently own a French hatchback, and although I love it, I've always said that the only other car brand I'll replace mine with is a sexy Alfa. I also love the Alfa-Romeo GT coupé, aspecially the 3.2 V6 variant, but they're vary rare in my country, also a bit older year model and a bit more expensive than the Giulietta, so I was considering going for the more modern Giulietta, although the GT Coupé is better equipped and a bit bigger car. But I eventually made my mind up and decided to first go for the Giulietta. In the video, you spoke about the radio not being a touch screen infotainment system, but I know you do get higher spec versions that do have those fitted, I'm sure you can get one fitted if yours doesn't have it. Thanks for your video, I've done so much research on the Alfa-Romeo brand lately, and I guess my next car will definitely be an Alfa-Romeo. Cheers.

      Thank you for your comment, sorry for the late reply. There is no showdow of a doubt that Alfa Romeo is a drivers car. It’s that feeling of being engaged and part of an experience that made me want one. The design even today is very desirable. You definitely need to buy with your heart as reliability has also plagued the brand. I must say I didn’t really have many issues with mine. I would play close attention to the electrics with can be temperamental. My choice was a diesel because of the travelling I did and even that diesel was very fun to drive, the chassis balance and steering input made a quite enjoyable experience. A petrol engine either the 1.4 or QV 1.75 will give you the Alfa classic feeling and soundtrack. The infotainment screen was added I believe in Giulietta’s from 2016. With some technical skills and know how it could be installed in earlier model years. The GT you mentioned is also a lovely coupe but they are rare now.

      I've got a 156 facelift. It's a diesel, OK, I know, but it's a car that lifts your spirits (and the contents of your wallet!), but just sitting in the cabin is a treat.

    • @ricardocarelse5245
      @ricardocarelse5245 3 місяці тому

      @stanleybuchan4610 I don't really have a problem with a diesel vehicle, I've always owned petrol and manual cars. Think it's because of that usual cluck-cluck sound of a diesel engine when you start it up that puts me offa bit, and a auto gearbox are more expensive to fix than a manual should something go wrong. I'm just one of those people who thinks a diesel engine belongs in a truck or a tractor, not a sexy Italian car, but that's just my opinion. Love the 159 sadan, but prefer the hatch version of the 159 (Brera) that replaced the GT coupé, the 159 sadan are a bit large for me because I am a single guy with no children. Brera's are also very scarce in my country, and because of their rarity, the Brera are expensive to buy. The reason I decided on a Giulietta is because their a bit bigger than the Mito, and don't forget about that forgotten hero Giulietta that finally pulled down that massive plane in that Fast and Ferious movie when all other cars failed, crashed or burned. And yes, I know... before someone else reads my comment and says, "It wasn't real," and "It was only a movie." Thanks, Stanley. Cheers. 😀

    I just bought a 2012 QV. Sight unseen, 800km away. 100k miles (161k kilometers). Paid $9.5k aud for it, so round 5k pounds. I'm in Melbourne, flying out to Tasmania for it, then a 3.5 hour drive, a 12 hour spirit of tasmania journey, and a 30 min drive home. Will be interesting, leaving in 3 days. What are the QV's priced at in the UK? i know you get/buy cars for dirt cheap, especially luxury and performance models (example : 911 turbo s is $600k brand new here. something like 150k pounds over there....half price.....)

Oh wow sound sounds like an adventure lol. I’m think of doing road trip for the channel as soon as the pandemic ends. Many QV’s range from £7k to £10k depending on mileage. Yes there is a big car market here, the 911 new can be yours from £95k to £115k some more based on the trim. Please let me know how your trip was and your experience with the car. I'm very curious which model of that car is the best from which year 2017-2020? Which one overall best value for money and nice interior? As well how reliable are they? Or maybe ford focus st? Very curious your thoughts

    • @Mr-M-on-motors
      @Mr-M-on-motors  3 роки тому +1

      Sorry for the delay in replying, I would go for the later year ones as the USB port is accessible for the driver. I would also pick the models with the infotainment screen they are standard now and please make sure you get one with reversing sensors or get them installed. I would go for the veloce trim it is more expensive but you get the half leather/cloth interior and 17 inch wheels. In terms of engine either the 2L diesel or 1.4 petrol are good. The diesel I had was a strong engine plenty of torque. If maintained well you should have no problems although I might of had a turbo issue so check for leaks and noises other than that mine has been fine. I’m a huge fan of Alfa Romeo and the design is very unique. Although I do like the latest Ford Focus design. I’ve not driven the Ford focus one thing that stands out with the ST model are the Ricaro seats. The handling I’ve heard is also very good and precise.

      Thank you so much my aim is to provide value on this channel. I use the diesel in town it’s very good on fuel, the diesel fuel is more expensive than petrol but last longer. Although to prevent diesel sut deposits long distance driving is also required. I know the Fiat engines have been used in Alfa Romeos in general the multi air is a strong engine. It’s used in the Fiat 500 which is a loved car. As with all cars maintenance is always important.

    Thanks, a brilliant video. Could you please tell me more about the driver's footwell air vent fins direction, does it blows up and forward, or back and down as it should, and as it is on the passenger side?
    Thanks...

    • @Mr-M-on-motors
      @Mr-M-on-motors  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you Bojan for the compliment, I really appreciate it. Just bear in mind the car I have is from the UK. Here the vent has a horizontal vent blowing the air across the pedals so you feel the air on the feet and lower legs. There are no direction fins, interestingly the passenger side which also has a vent has fins which are positioned down and blow the air across the feet. Sometimes manufacturers don’t pass the design over to UK side. I think that’s why there are fins for European LHD cars. If you want I can send you a quick video so you can see the vents visually.

    • @BojanBojovic
      @BojanBojovic 3 роки тому +1

      @@Mr-M-on-motors Thanks. I am asking this because I thought about purchasing a UK version vent for the left side as on my Giulietta there are fins on both sides, with the passenger vent (right side) directed down and backwards just where the feet are located, while the driver's vent (left side) direct the air up and forward, away from the feet. 🥶
      Not sure why they did it this way, but I just purchased the car and when I turn the heater on my brain boils while my feet freeze. 😃
      I cut the fins and glued them differently to redirected the air down and little bit backwards, now my feet are warm again. 👍
      I believe someone made a mistake but no one noticed so they sold over 400k cars with this. 🙆
      With that being said, I still get some small amount of air blowing to the windscreen even the direction is set to down only. Does this happen on your car as well, or the flap on my car does not close fully?

    • @Mr-M-on-motors
      @Mr-M-on-motors  3 роки тому +1

      Oh right I know the Left side vent hasn’t got big enough fins the direction isn’t been thought out. On the other hand the right side has a wider opening for air to blow out. Oh right wow that’s some amazing diy you did on the vent. You could look into buying a UK left side vent cover. There are many small design flaws on the Giulietta especially the earlier models , they can be annoying but the drive makes up for it. 😃 It’s the same with my car if you have the lower blower on you still get some air coming out of the windshield. Yes again it’s a design and quality flaw that hopefully they fixed on later models.

      Hello manveer Singh I’ve heard the petrol units are great smooth and punchy especially the QV one. Many people say Alfa’s have to be petrol. I had the 2L diesel and what an engine plenty of torque and power. Provided you get one with good service history and been looked after they are great. Do check for leaks I had a suspected turbo leak. 4k is a good number as long as it’s been looked after. This compliance thing is going to make people have to make big decisions. I think the car has to be of a certain age or emissions to not pay. They are great fun enjoyable cars. I have the radio on on the motorway so I don’t hear it as much. You are also right from a seal point of view, check for splits, cracks and degrading of the rubber. If the Alfa your buying is pre 2015 the USB port is in the glovebox and you feed the cable from there. It was a bad design from an access point. If the car is after 2015 I believe the USB and aux is next to where the DNA switch is, which is so much better.

    I have always been in love for the Giulietta. I am actually looking for one, but I need an automatic because of my partner. So I am not sure if the 1.4 Tct is a good option or if the 2.0 diesel is a better engine.
    When looking for these Giuliettas, would you think of anything to check in terms of maintenance? Also, how expensive are they to service?
    Kind regards,

      Thank you very much for your feedback, there are auto’s on the market. Regarding the fuel if you travel alot the diesel will be better it’s a strong engine. The petrol though might be a little fun and best suited if you drive once a while or in town mainly. Definitely give it a test drive, look out for strange notices with the auto and any leeks in the engine bay. I might have a suspected turbo leak. The other thing is to check if the car has had regular service. I have a video on how much I paid for the service. check my channel. I paid £220 for full service.

    Hi! Thanks for your video and greetings from France. I am looking for a Giulietta! I found exactly the same than yours but with the 1.4 Multiair 170, with 120 000 kms. I've got a 208 from 2012 currently and I am a little bit affraid about the reliability of the Giulietta. Would you say it is worth it? The dealer wants 8500 euros... Thank you again for your video and forgive me for my English 😉

      Hello D cts2 your welcome Hank you for watching the review. The petrol engine from what I heard are strong a lot is shared with fiat. From an experience point of view the Giulietta is so much fun even better with a petrol engine although the diesel I had was also enjoyable to drive. If the car has been serviced and maintained well you should be ok. You should look out for leaks in the engine bay so bring a torch

      You should also check the electrics make sure windows open and no warning lights come up on the dash the only problem I had was the wiring loom needed replacing. Check for any squeaks and notices when driving, based on the the kms I think you could ask for a lower price. Test drive the car and take your time making a decision before finalising the deal. I’m glad the review gave you value. Your English is good 👍🏻 😊

      Yes I drive to Swindon regularly and at 50mph the car is ticking at 1300rpm. The fuel consumption is very good. I might make a video on this. 😊👍🏻

    Getting and keeping the correct tyre pressures makes a big difference to these cars , just a little too much pressure can spoil the ride, too little also no good.

      Yes your right I’ve experienced that if they are overinflated it made the ride even harder. The stiffen suspension doesn’t help although fun from a driving and handling aspect.

    A diesel alpha - oxymoronic car crime. Apart from that how long does it run beteeen expensive breakdowns

    • @Mr-M-on-motors
      @Mr-M-on-motors  2 роки тому

      I apologise for the late reply, yes an Alfa can only be petrol. I bought the diesel because of lots of driving. I have to say the diesel engine has lots of torque and quite fun sadly the noise will never be great. The only issue I had was the wiring looms which is more of an electrical problem and a small suspected turbo leak. Other than that ownership has been fine.

    Why on earth would you buy a nicely handling and sporty car with a stinky GM sources tractor engine in it…? Super weird…

    • @Mr-M-on-motors
      @Mr-M-on-motors  7 місяців тому

      You’re not the first person to say that. I would agree with you that petrol is king. The diesel engine is from the Fiat bravo with some tweaks. I didn’t think much of it at first but the low end torque of this engine is very useful. You don’t lose that Alfa Romeo handling if that is of concern. The reason for the diesel is because I was driving an 88 miles round trip to work. I could have gone for any diesel but the Giulietta said come and buy me. 😊

      @@Mr-M-on-motors I see. I just missed some italian music to match the identity of the car. But great video, lots of details. But the Giulia Quadrifoglio still my thing, even more because of the engine sound. The Giulia sounds so good.

      Oh right what sort of Italian music do you think would be good. Thank you for your compliment. 😊 oh yes the Giulia seems a lovely car I really need to get hold of one. The QV is the daddy of them all. From what I’ve read and seen it’s a masterpiece.
