YT Fam (-ily), in this video I'll be reacting to Sohyang for the first time she will be singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" as you can see from my thumbnail, like Morissette Amon singing Akin KaNa Lang, I was taken on an emotional ride again...😭 Sohyang is a Beautiful & Powerful singer and is adored not only in Korea but around the world.
I researched and found that the original singers of "Bridge over troubled water" was by Simon & Garfunkel. Sohyang sang it beautifully.

Your reaction is typical of those who experience So Hyang for the first time. It was the same with me. You just don't know what to say as this almost supernatural effect comes over you and she has you in the palm of her hand until she is done. You can't escape so you might as well hang on for the ride. And what a ride! Who else can do that to you every time she sings? Words almost fail you, and oftentimes they do fail you! She is a Christian and says her life and voice are a gift from God. How can anyone NOT love her? And besides, she is a profoundly beautiful woman, period. The whole package is irresistible. I enjoyed and almost laughed as I saw through your eyes that she had you melting inside and filling up with GOOD emotions. She is, as far as I can see, a very real gift from God for this ailing and heart sick world.

Here is a little more about So Hyang.
We all wonder if So Hyang is human or from another planet. Current odds are that she's from another planet or perhaps an angel come down from Heaven. We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. She does all the musical arrangements herself, teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks four languages. Korean, English, French and
Vietnamese.
Let me catch my breath. OK.
She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all travelled to Asia to work with her.
She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. Because of this she is prone to catching pneumonia but has sang perfectly while suffering from it in her live performance of "You Raise Me Up" before Shane Filan of Westlife on South Korean TV. She has asked those who love her singing to pray that God keep pneumonia away from her, she has suffered from it on so many occasions. Imagine how she must feel with this coronavirus floating around everywhere!
She just turned 42 on April 5, though in Korean culture she would be 43 because you are deemed to be one year old when you are born. She was about 35 when she sang this version of "Arirang Alone." ua-cam.com/video/zFyndK9VOCk/v-deo.html
She decided to enter a televised singing contest called "King of the Masked Singers" in 2017 and won six consecutive times, which has catapulted her into international fame from the performances being posted on UA-cam. Apparently Oprah Winfrey saw her on UA-cam and showed her to David Foster, who then contacted her and went to Japan in order to work together. She could be an international Super Star if she wanted to be but has decided that it would ruin her spiritually, quoting Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death." So she does not pursue fame or fortune and actually has no social media presence whatsoever. What can one say about such a person? She is a literal Wonder Woman! And we need about a billion more just like her!

So Hyang is just the most amazing singer, Christian and human being! She is beautiful both inside and out--and so humble!

Well, one more gush. In an interview with a Turkish music producer So Hyang says that she can hit Eb7 and D7 in practise. However, she has never gone above the 6th octave in performances. @@Islandboy4Ewa Thank you! BTW, So Hyang is also a stage actress who played the nanny in the South Korean version of "The Sound of Music" and sang in the South Korean version of Disney's Moana. And she's also a novelist. What this tiny juggernaut of a woman can't do is beyond me!

Thank you for the reaction. Most of the people who watched Sohyang's performance are amazing by her vocal gift, marveling at her ability to deliver phenomenal sound to our senses. However, there are those who are tuned to her emotional message and become deeply moved by her voice, as you have in this occasion. Yes, you used the right words to describe her stage, power humility, conviction, strength and emotion. Many were emotionally vested after listening to this performance, myself included. However, this is by no means an exception. Sohyang has many performances that are ready to touch, motivate, comfort, and amaze one's heart. Thanks Yukuo for the info, I agree some people are either effected by her powerful vocal or the message behind her song.. With me I believe its both her powerful vocals and the message and more that more that move me to be emotional, as a professional dance we use both of what you mention and more, like the way she composed the notes to the song, the way the tracks and visual of the stage. If you have watch me react to Morissette Amon, I didn't understand a word she was singing, but vocally from the way she sang the song and how she hit the notes it move me emotionally as well.😊She is very passionate and has a GOD given talent.
