I have this book. It is sad, detailed and a whirlwind tour of his life...I admire him more knowing He was really suffering from depression but channeling in his songs and music....He is an amazing singer and courageous human being.....His music Just keeps getting Better....
Kudos to Rick! He comes across as a very sensitive and genuine person who has evolved significantly while maturing from his lessons in life. GOD Bless you Rick!
I watched him perform with Cory Hart when I was 15, I fell in love with him then, have loved him ever since. I have seen him several more times in concert and he always puts on an excellent show, remains beautiful and I will always love him.
Thanks for being so authentic...you have so much to offer young people in this world...your story is truly inspirational and moving...Blessings to you and yours Rick!
I love Rick's honesty. In and about everything. I understand an awful lot about what he goes through and it's nice to hear, that other people understand too. Love you, Rick!! Always have, Always will!!❤❤❤❤❤⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘
If you could only see yourself the way the world sees you would never be depressed again I promise. Hard to hold was a great movie. You are an excellent actor btw. The world loves your TRUE passion in everything you do. ❤
Great book, I seen him in a concert at Radio City Music Hall, and I never even thought he was anywhere near depressed. He's right, you always think that being a celebrity your above it all. We're all human, and as he wrote in his song, "We all need the Human Touch. Rock on Rick and doubt yourself.
@RickSpring field My daughter and I saw you in Reno.I have been a fan since Don't Talk to Strangers. Come back to Reno and my daughter and I will be in the front row!!
mY NAME IS JODI GORNIK.... aND I HAVE BEEN A FAN SINCE 1981... YOU WERE MY FIRST CRUSH!!! I HAVE ALL YOUR ALBUMS AND 1000s OF POSTERS OF YOU!!!! u ARE A GREAT MUSICIAN!!!!! KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND KEEP MAKING GREAT MUSIC!!! YOUR NUMBER 1 FAN,.......
I got to see him perform last year and am still in disbelief that he was 70 years old. He was as energetic as he’s ever been and he sounded phenomenal as well.
After the Zoot disaster we in Australia saw Rick as a bit of a lightweight but I was wrong. His love for his dog touched me especially when he wasn't afraid to discuss it openly.
Rick, the book is amazing. I enjoyed so many parts & the Ronnie shirt fitting incident at the store cracked me up... then I started to cry which was so weird . The book really is really deep & touches your heart. I keep thinking about what I read. That's some pretty honest stuff that you let us in on. I've been a fan since 'Speak to the sky' days & I am still enjoying all the concerts when you play in L.A. Looking forward to having the book signed when you are in Costa Mesa! :) Deb
Man, I lost my dog at 6 years old, I later found out that a neighbor had come into our yard, took Jager off his chain, took him home and shot him.... because he posed in his yard! I never really got over that and have had dogs my whole life. Rick is a really nice guy, seen him in concert about 20 times, my wife, around 200! Yep, we're fans!
Great book; I'm just about finished. Refreshing for somebody this famous, to be so honest with his life. He was a real 'asshole' during his life; according to Rick. Treated people like crap for his own selfish needs. As long as people recognize that they are doing 'wrong' and try to change, then there is hope after all. Nice job, Mr. Springthorpe! Mr. D needs to take a flying leap off the Eiffel Tower, man!!
My sister and I go soaked in a washout of your Beat of the Live Drum Tour.I believe It was 84.I did see the video and it was Awsome. One day I would love to see you live with my sister to make up for the show that didn't happen in Jacksonville Fl.
Hey, Rick, Yes, I still think your cool. always have always will. How's married life.? What do you think of this country's problems today? I think you should write a song about our freedoms. Yeah that would be cool.?

Rick Springfield my favorite solo artist during my younger years at mid 80s.

The book, like the music of the man, is well written, thoughtful and excellent. Rick is quite the writer! A fascinating read.
A true ICON. Read the book. That story about leaving his dog behind is one of the saddest stories anyone can ever read about.
