The Meaning of Initiation Into Hekate's Mysteries

- Initiation is the greatest mystery that opens the temple of the greatest mystery. It is not so much to be understood, but experienced. It is a key that is borne from other keys that opens a gate beyond the gates we can perceive.
Initiation is not a rational process, but we often seek to impose structure upon it. There is a tension between our need for an ordered process and the mysteries of the deeper world that we experience through our connection to Hekate. There are the spontaneous soul-bearing initiations where we truly learn the mysteries of Hekate, and then there are those that are a culmination of a period of study.
Initiation is the process through which you acknowledge your proficiency as a witch. It is evidence of a certain level of skill as a practitioner of Modern Hekatean Witchcraft. While you’ve acquired the knowledge necessary to become an initiate through the content of the course, you’ve also gained deep understanding of Hekate, witchcraft and yourself. The two combine to produce wisdom, the true gift of initiation. Initiation also infers a serious personal commitment to practicing Modern Hekatean Witchcraft.

Maybe you can incorporate traditional nursing with spirituality? Plant medicine, reiki, chakra clearing, these are things that can work well with being a carer. As a nurse you’re already so skilled in healing! Hekate will guide you!

I feel the same way! I'm a cna, working 60 plus hours every week to get ahead. Lost myself chasing money and overtime. Nursing is such a hard field to be in, it's down right nasty sometimes, you see real evil in the people who are put there to help people. Power trips, ego, back stabbing, lack of empathy for people. Other people unless in the field have no idea the stress of the job. Anyways I'm also starting my journey again, so good luck...... blessed be
Hekate entered my life and at first I was terrified because I knew a deity was with me and trying to show me things. But this time I sensed strongly that this deity was not showing me what I wanted to see. She basically exposed who I am and made me aware that while I do have valid reasons for what I have felt in my past. I will never overcome it until I just accept that I cannot change them. I experienced high levels of guilt due to relgious differences my whole life. I was looked at as a failure and over time my depression and anxiety convinced me to believe I was born to feel this pain. Hekate came to me when I was close to drowning once again. I became extremely emoitional and aware of my own mistakes and how I gave in and was weak. She has given me the strength to finally overcome this weight I have carried for so long.

This sounds so familiar, except that every time I am drowning due to pressures of the patriarchy - expectations as a mother, wife, obstacles put there by family, society, I seek the crooked path but feel scared and guilty. I have been drawn to herbs, plants and kitchen witchery, collecting items in nature mainly earth objects, sticks, flowers, coconut shells, herbs...i remember as a child when my parents were preoccupied with their problems I felt safe and watched, cared for by nature and earth outdoors in fact I had no fear. Can you help me understand what spirits might be calling me?

A very similar thing I have discovered just today. I was talking it all through with my therapist and we came to these same sort of conclusions. Could this mean that Hekate is calling for me?

I have been feeling Hekate in my life since I was 14. She opened up to myself and my draft and I could never see a life without Her. Now that I am 18 and I am preparing to start my life, I think it is time I accept Hekate fully.

I have been in communion with Hekate for a few days I did offerings yesterday just before dawn yesterday and just after dusk last night I saw bats flying around my back yard. I cleaned all my tools and have them spread our to absorb the sun and moon ... on the picnic table. I've lived in this mountain 4 years I'm always noting lots of wild life...never seen bats before

Hecate gave me keys…literally. After manifesting in many ways, I was cleaning an old big house and suddenly I stumbled upon 2 super old and heavy keys. And that’s very simbolic for me, because she gave me 2, not 3. I still gotta unlock a mysterious gate in her way. I’m literally keeping her keys
Cool literally before I had e er known her name I was given a big ri g of old British Bobby brass keys and then a few weeks later a cast iron cauldron with a 3 on it by two separate non magi sl people that don't know each other ... amazing it is hard not to believe .. the decades I was a Christian Diety never made himself blatantly clear to me

I finished reading Keeping Her Keys. Im ready for initiation, did my daily chants and meditations ive done 2 deipnons so far, apparently you have to have completed the book within a year lol took me a few months. Would this be ok? I've contacted Hekate for answers and it feels like she wants me to do the initiation since I've been preparing for it.
Soul work is not to be rushed.
@@CyndiBrannen I actually did some major shadow work before I read the book. I wanted to have a clear mind and not havr anything hold me back. Like you said, soul work shouldn't be rushed but i feel like I'm in the right state of mind now more than ever!

I ended up doing my way through meditation and pulled energies from all my body parts one moon phase at a time and did this at 31 and I am now 40. I don't think anyone should get into this unless they know their natal chart and understand the virtues and vices of the kabbalah tree. Why have more hassle upon your life than you need? It's really not worth it.

Seems more like a dedication to rather than an initiation. A dedication is something an individual decides for themselves. An initiation is done to you as a symbolic ritual of entry to a group or religion. Confusing terms muddies waters horribly.
I believe we are coming at this from perhaps different perspectives. I can allow space for yours to be different than mine. My teaching explores both the deeply spiritual as well as formal study. Initiations happen to us in many different ways.
