For Mel to crap on EM just because of his skin color is not The Message that he wrote and rapped to in the beginning, meaning that he should practice what he wrote and put on wax.
Mel clearly ended Em’s career counting from 1 to 8 without messing up once..... Honestly I hope Em doesn’t respond. I imagine he doesn’t want to humiliate one of his heroes. Mel tarnished his own legacy with that desperate drivel.
@@eddiemil88don’t matter what you create or help create your legacy can still be tarnished. That won’t takeaway from the fact that they created or helped create something so legendary though, but as an overall human being you can certainly do great things but if you fuck up way more and way worse you can have created the best thing ever and still be a complete dub that no one fucks wit. Now I don’t think this lil shit wit Em tarnishes his legacy whether he wins or loses this battle in the eyes of majority of hip hop fans it only solidifies his place in hip hop even more to even go at it with one of the best MCs from after his generation and someone who a lot of people consider to be the GOAT. Shit I personally never knew about Melle Mel or most of the guys from his era cuz I’m young only 21 up until he was doing interviews calling out Em which only puts him out there to different audiences. I think you got it the wrong way. In an interview Melle Mel said Eminem is not in his top 5, 10 whatever which was his opinion. So Eminem goes and writes a diss track against Melle Mel because of an opinion? In that same interview he said Jay Z was overrated, but Jay-Z mature and knows it's someone's opinion. Eminem goes and attacks women and old folks,. Did he even respond to "gang affiliated" The Game? The Game is someone who actually deserves a diss track from Eminem. Sorry, not sorry but Eminem is weak for even responding to an opinion while not doing anything about the Game... that's punk behavior.
@@Earl-c4y its white kids in their feelings, they hate their mom and wann kill their ex for cheating on em poppin pills writing corny shit about black women - thats what they relate to, they not even hip hop. that list was made based on sales, considering 75% of america is white, and 40% of americans being casual racists while 35% are full time. @@Earl-c4y I respect your thoughts. Honestly, I am really speaking about interviews prior to this Eminem situation. I don’t understand how there’s people defending Mel in this situation 🤦🏽♂️. People really gonna defend a man that counted down to 8 on a song, like it was still the 80’s 😭. Em is more than a guest in the house of hip-hop, and I’ll say it, but a lot of the haters, definitely racist. It’s so damn crazy how a lot of black history involves the idea of not judging somebody just off the color of their skin, yet there’s an excuse in this situation just cos he’s white. Even 50 has admitted he’ll beat your favorite black rapper. It’s stupid, that even Eminem had to CONSTANTLY refer that fact, he’s not number 1 cos he’s white. So in all honesty, Eminem’s a goat, these old-heads and their die hard fans are jealous haters and racists, and anyone who’s gonna say “oh you don’t understand” or “you don’t know hip-hop” or “did you even understand the bars”, a bunch of ignorant retards.

Eminem has unbalanced the genre but not because of his pigment but because he is just so damn good. I think this is a sanitary commercial back in the 80's they just change the lyrics... Hiphop has already outgrown Melle Mel.... Retirement is a norm for self preservation...😊
Mellow Mel was always dope. Eminem is from the battle rap era and he’s proven he’s one of the best battle rappers. Being a great hip hop artist doesn’t mean you can hold up in battle rap. It’s a different style of hip hop. Rone, Conceited, and Dumbfoundead could handle Mel when it comes to battling, 3:23 but maybe not records sold.
Lol rhymes are rhymes, no matter if it's a battle rap or top 40 song. Stop it. Melle Mel would've made that same exact cornball track aiming for radio play as was done in his shitty battle rap. Corny raps are corny raps. 12345678 😂
Melle Mel opened the door to rappers telling their story through the music. The song, The Message was groundbreaking when MCs were mainly rapping about parties and moving the crowd during the birthing years and infancy of HipHop. He talked about where he was from and introduced the world to the world of those that didn't have a voice in the world. I wish someone could tell Melle that he shouldn't feel the need to do a diss track to feel relevant or important to the culture. He is a legend. Stay on your throne as a pioneer, sir. You worked hard for that throne and everyone in the culture respects it. You shouldn't have to be in anyone's Top 20 list of greatest MCs of all time for validation. You already did the work and the bricks have been laid for everyone to walk the path. Be a leader, a consultant, and our elder statesman of HipHop. Leave the diss tracks to the kids and help guide the youth and find other ways to tell your story.
Fat Joe! I cannot believe I met this man on the set of Lil Kim and R Kelly's Xmas ballad. Back then Suge Knight was running things, and pioneers are today, killing any chance we have of helping to get them seen and heard
@opsec175 that's the problem right there.. a caucasian man like yourself steering the force that could get him seen and heard in a world that he helped form... Smh.. that's the problem.. hip hop is a wealthy business that black people created and every other race is running and controling it... Foh
Those pioneers that hate on Eminem even when he’s showed nothing but respect, it has to be because they wish they had Eminem career that’s all I can think of 3 straight classic albums to start off with two of those are diamond, an iconic movie to top it off and still be relevant more than any other rapper to this day
the fact that one line on eminems song was more damaging than mel's entire track says a lot anyway, from his response track it was clear that he only took it as a sport, i am sure neither em not mel are actually hating each other
Who was that street supposed yo be named after? The only thing i could find that says who it could have been alludes to DJ Kool Herc. Anybody out there know for sure?
I don't care for most of hist music except a handful and I don't care what color he is. I don't care for Twista either. I like Eminem more than Twista so where's the color hate?
Mell should be a good example since he is one of the OGs. Instead of hatin he should support and show love. Look at Snoop and other OGs. Em is great whatever skin color he may have.
Mel charging Em and then EM firing back is like watchingthat scene in the movie DO THE RIGHT THING when the drunk Mayor made a snap at some younger people and the one dude capped back at the drunk Mayor sitting on the porch and everybody is trying to hold that young dude back. Mel rap song is the most basic rap song I've ever heard in my entire life. I'm telling you , if your aren't thinking outside the box and around the box like Eminem don't bother try go against him its gonna cost you your career.
What cracks me up is Em literally salutes more than any other rapper period to his OG's. Not only says it but he will put it in his music too! See the problem is the og's want abit of clout so that's why they go at em. We know tha play by now. Ems fan base is bananas so they get a reaction and boom. Look we talkin bout them now.
I think it comes down to old dudes being jealous because they came first and didn’t get the huge paycheck. And even more jealous when people consider a white boy one of the best. But you can’t create an art everyone loves and get mad when they study and perfect it.
Hip Hop has degenerated into childish Beefs and petty jealousies which have escalated into the deaths of many talented performers. When the artists should have come together to form a Hip-Hop coalition to work together and take control of the industry long ago. Instead they argue and fight like little school kids still on the playground.
Eminem is not in my top 5, 10, or even 20. I got Lauryn Hill above Eminem. His versers are for the suburbs not the hood. Ain't nobody in the hood pumping Eminem like that and if you're black and you say you pumping then you think you from the hood.
Joe act like he ain’t going to tell a story, but we know he’s itching to tell it and eventually will 😂. We listen to every second of it with undivided attention too! 😂
I remember when Fat Joe used to rap. Is Fat Joe gunna rap?! I only hear him passin gossip anymore. Joe went “All The Way Up” but then 50….but I thought they squashed that sh@+…Maybe a mixtape? Now Melle burnt and everybody just talk about other people’s sh@+ like they just spectators waiting for a safe moment to leave the building…or should I say the “mansion” that Em & Dre built in the Aftermath of Deathrow. And I think that is what “Realest” is about - Actions speak louder than words, even in an industry that is ruled by words.
Hip Hop Boulevard, the street mentioned by Fat Joe, is a section of Sedgwick Avenue near where DJ Kool Herc held the 'first' hip hop party, that's been renamed. Based on that it could have been DJ Kool Herc who Fat Joe is talking about.
Dude had one song that was good. He a one hit wonder but because it was at a time where rap was just getting started he is revered. He should he happy that we even gave him that much credit but he really in his head not only thinks he's better than Em but also Jay, Pac, Big, Kendrick and everyone! He really believes that he is the greatest rapper of all time 😂😂🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ i think he got lucky with the message and now his ego is so inflated he smells his own farts like that episode of south park 😂😂
Mel and Em are only 12 years apart, I was a little shocked I thought it was more. You can only poke the Beast so many times before they lose thier patience and bite back. Mel continuously disrespected Em for years. Em held his form even giving him props when he was inducted to the R&R Hall of Fame. Em is smart, he knew it would be like this and he didn't want to diss Mel. Hes always given respect to hip hop, its history. Now when people look up Mel this is what will show up first and Mel is so much more than this spot of time. Like with MJ, the first thing that comes up is the crying meme, kids have no idea that he could fly from the free throw line and dunk the ball before anyone else's feet left the floor. I do wonder if the people around him just aren't his friends or hes not listening. I just dont understand how this made it to upload without a single person saying, "bro this is trash" Sometimes its better to just be silent than taking on a task you can no longer complete.a❤❤
When you see MC Shan all up in the camera talking shit about Nas with not a single tooth in his mouth, that don’t sit right. It gives some validation to what Joe is saying, because Nas is one of the realest when it comes to honoring the legends.
Haha Em don't battle, he slays. Smelle Smell legend as he may be, is making a frickin fool of himself. Em is not only one of the worlds most famous mc's because of his style and wordplay, it's just what he says thats true, funny and smart.
At the end of the day, some of the pioneers are bitter because they've never made the money that current artists make. A garbage rapper can get a push on youtube with a video filmed on an iPhone and make more money that Rakim ever made.
As much as the pioneers be complaining they shouldn’t be blocking their blessings like that . Like fr the golden era respect the golden age … I don’t know about these kids but the those in the 90s definitely do.

A lot of ballplayers are like this too. They're a little earlier in their time and didn't get the money so they look down on the people eho came after.

The fans have already cooked the old man. Eminem won't need to do anything.
Ems gonna flip it on him and count backwards from 10. He won’t won’t even know what to do
Yep. That 1-8 has ended Em's legacy. 😂
You can't tarnish your legacy in hip-hop when you're one of the people that literally created it. Y'all just d ride Em too much to understand that 😂
@@eddiemil88don’t matter what you create or help create your legacy can still be tarnished. Remember all publicity is good publicity you can be the worst person ever have the worst reputation and still get media coverage cuz controversy sells but Melle Mel ain’t even close to the worst of anything lmao he’s just a ol head that likes things better how things was done back in his day I’m the same way I like things how they were when I was growing up and even a little bit before my time I don’t like this new generation shit and even most of my own generation shit cuz I grew up on older generation shit as a youngin so that’s just what I like but I’m not old enough to relate to all of the OGs of the OGs in the rap game or not even necessarily relate but just not be into all of their music even though lyrically they might talk about things that i am interested in or relate to.
It's sad to see a veteran like Melle Mel act like this. I've listened to him in interviews and most of the time he comes across like a hater.
He’s coming across LIKE the hater he is.

The man has expanded the audience for the genre, inspired greats like Cole, Kendrick, hell, Drake’s a fan. So in all honesty, Eminem’s a goat, these old-heads and their die hard fans are jealous haters and racists, and anyone who’s gonna say “oh you don’t understand” or “you don’t know hip-hop” or “did you even understand the bars”, a bunch of ignorant retards.
I doubt if ANYONE is going to say what you said at the end of your comment.🤣 And I haven’t seen a single person defending that hot garbage of a diss track. What are you talking about?🤣🤣
