😂😂😂 bro really followed through after Snuffy "disrespected" their base. I wasn't expecting a full walkthrough tutorial though. Mad respect to you June. Keep up the great content homie 👍
hey you guys caught that haha
I figured this vid was coming. 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha, I thought excactly the same 😂
I thought the same thing haha
If only you could @snuffy 😂😂
Another positive to placing your TC on the door side is that it stops it being seen from your 2x1's doorway if someone is trying to 'go deep'. So that they can't destroy your TC with flame arrows or ammunition.
molotovs and he grenades/f1 will still splash it, but yeah.
i saw this willjum video like yesterday i think where he managed to maximise the use of a 1 by 1 honeycomb base full of loot with a building foundation id least expect to use in a build which is the triangle or square frame support used for ladder hatches. he placed furnaces in his triangle floor and placed the frame over it as i slight protection bonus and i think done something else with it which just protected his furnaces its self. it was mad genius.
Never thought you could make 2 squares and a triangle this complex
you ever see this guy play rust come on now
Thanks for the tutorial man, really helps out newbie player like me. Especially when I hear a lot that newbies like myself around me always get raided so easily when they just started playing Rust.
Bwahaha I placed my boxes like Hjune recommended and my sons friends came by....They were all telling jokes goofing off, but one of them looked my screen and said, at least he knows how to place boxes.. I never felt so god damn proud man . Thanks Hjune.
Entertaining and informative! Thank you for your contributions to the Rust community!
Hey hJune I’m kind of a newbie to Rust and slowly getting into it. Thanks for the content.
I die a little inside when my team mates slap the tc down long side facing out before I get on.
Good video, very informative. Thanks!!!
I’m interested in the base build you do with the oil refinery in some videos looks sweet
thanks for the tc placement :)
i used to just use duble door frame to fit a loker or the workbench on the tringel i didnt knew you can fit it on single door air lock and its also stop them from picking into the baes if they inside the air lock
I try to make a budget 2nd floor as shooting floor with my 2x1's. Using wooden window bars which dont require bps. Can highly recommend starter bases with a mini shooting floor.
U can use roofs for good peaks
That heading tip for freestyle building is awesome 👌
hJune making the strongest stance a Rust player can make. The TC placement in a 1x2. RIP twitter mentions.
*starts placing TC in the square behind the airlock*
that is actually the best way, and then put a 7 large box loot room
Loving the new UA-cam video ideas
Should do a video on the correct upgrades too I see so many different ways
Holy jesus. Thank you for the tips around 9 min. That is gonna change my life a few times a year at least!! Thank you!
As my experience when u place tc vertically like that ur teammates will block all tc room trynna loot that back box 😂
You can also put a bag in the airlock so you can put more boxes in the 2x1.
hes also saying this more toward groups using 2 by 1's but any base is really the most efficiant to a solo farmer/builder who seriously knows how to OCD out the base and organise and make as much room to place as much stuff as possible for maximum potential.
if it were ever possible, i would love to challenge HJune to a 2 by 2 base build no honeycomb with deciding factors being the storage space, how much would it cost to raid in, how defendable it is while ur offline that kind of thing.
Also one comment - the second “alternate” version you showed seems to have the exact same deplorables (excepting two furnaces exchanged for the large box). Wouldn’t that indicate that the extra unused space in the second (“alternate”) version is more efficient? I get that the space isn’t really useable, of course, at least in this form factor… but potentially an alternative arrangement (like in a 2x2) that extra space could become useable. It doesn’t really matter for the 2x1 of course..
Well mobility getting around is the main issue with it. In his "correct" build where TC is doorside, you can smoothly walk up from bags to small boxes, and if you're teammates afk, it won't block you getting to boxes / TC.
In second build, there's no smooth walk up, you gotta jump so it's clunky and you can easily be blocked going towards TC.
Subtle diffs in big picture, but it's why he made this vid.. with finesse, its all in the details
Much love, bro ❤
It's hard to get that perfect box placement, but if you upgrade the wall frame for the double door to metal its much easier
This is remarkable!
So the airlock is better on the left side of the base rather than the right if you have one door opening outward it will create an airlock with the empty door frame in case of lack of resources in the beginning or a raid, with it on the right side of the 2x1 it creates a flawed airlock, other than that great video hjune
Then just mirror the base design 🤷♀
Yeah he doesn't know how to airlock but it's okay lmao.
This is a direct callout to Snuffy and it's hilarious. Now I want to see his reaction 😂😂
I prefer putting my workbench where the 2 furnaces to the right are, allowing you to use the workbench from anywhere in the base. Makes it a little awkward to put the 3 furnaces down along the shortside of the base, but I usually just replace one for a bbq with a small chest under it.
Can always go high foundation with low foundation air lock. Half walls around low foundation and can fit your 3 furnaces in and use as a walkway instead of jumping
@@jakobwest6526 You could do that for sure but anyone doorcamping will get full access to all your furnaces content and the base will be more expensive and take longer to initially setup assuming you set up the airlock immediately. Personally I prefer having the furnaces inside near the chests, and I dont think you lose out on too much valuable space having the furnaces inside.
@@nerfcoffee3751 Don't forget the trick with furnaces and door camping. Your comfort cannot get to 100% with furnaces unless another player is close by.
also protects the TC placing on the door side as it cant be shot out if they get into first door and second door is open as easily
awesome point here.
since the drone patch have to destroy the TC to place the to place the Shelf in some orientations
So much room for activities!
Postys base design combined with this is excellent
I remember you saying that you would make this video while playing with snuffy lol
wish I watched this before I just made mine the wrong way (X thank you for the heads up. I will go crazy until I rebuild another base lol
The locker was something new for me
does the 4th box not place anymore if u have the frame in stone alrdy been trying to get it in but it is just always slightly to the right and the wall blocks me to go further
For the first you can pick up bag against wall and put furnaces there and put the 3rd bag in airlock
What about halfwalls at the bottom with very low foundations to make it look like high foundations so there's more room for boxes/furnaces
Thats what i do for furnaces. Classic furnace floor airlock
Never thought as a clan builder id be watching june teach how to build a 2x1🤣🤣
you put that on your resume?
@@jjz3562 huh? you try and talk shit for no reason all the time?? or ?
awesome bro
lol love the ending
you never tried the tier 2 on the wall to the right with the tc. wthe triangle can be placed still. you get 2 large and a small on the top shelf still. and down the bottom you get 2 large 3 small and tier 2 and TC all in the 1 square. than you get 3 bags and 3 furnaces and a small box with a bbq over it "use to add more storage" in the front square witch is left more open for trio than when the tier 2 is in the same square. Hjune 294 storage slots, this is only 282 now u cant use bbq.
I always use half wall + wall now for my 2x1+triangle airlock. I love putting 3 furnaces in the airlock.
It changes the whole dynamic of the base we fit 5 ppl in a 2x1 doing this
@@MeIamHim I fit a six man in that 2x1 playing atlas 5x not to long ago no idea how it didn’t get raided after we rolled the 2 deep groups in our area
I've always built my 2x1 exactly how you did
Me watching this video in preperation to be prim locked and raided 1 hour after putting the doors down.
Say you've played over 10k hrs without saying you've played over 10k hours.
Having seen the old builds (when stairs and foundations used to stack) from him this is kinda expected to be obvious, clearly aimed to someone eheheh
Its not you "can" use the furnaces as a jump up, its you MUST use the furnaces as a jump up. If you try to use the rock wall triangle floor you cant get on top of it in order to get up.
There’s a thing too that I do in 2x1s that is putting a “decoy” airlock on the reverse side of the real one, in that way when people try to figure where the TC is, they have 50% of waste explosives and enter the WB room only….if they have a limited amount of boom, your tc and loot is saved…
Yea they can just watch you enter and know where it is. Instead of wasting your resources on a decoy, just make an actual honeycomb.
5k hours and I really just watched Hjune build and judge a 2x1 for 13 minutes.... lol
I find this super difficult to build correctly. First issue is the TC placement. It is very difficult to place it correctly so you can build the shelf later unless you place it while the walls are twig or metal/stone with soft side facing outside. Another trick is to build the shelf first and then place TC as that is possible even with the softside facing inwards.
Second issue is the third box at the bottom. It is difficult to place anyway but very difficult to place it so you can place doors later again unless you have twig walls or soft sides facing outwards.
Frankly I think you can only get the third box in if you do it while twig, or if you pay extra for the PTW rock wall skins like adobe or brutal.
@@Broughden I got kinda used to it by now. The boxes need to placed precisely and can now place the third one even with metal frame. Not sure about stone but I think I had success too but usually just spend the metal asap on it. However, the brutalist and container skins are the worst as there is nothing to line up the box edge with as I am used to.
im having more of an issue getting my bag placed inside the tc part without being able to place the triangle while its in there…
when i`m the biulder and there is a bag in the way i just ask who bag is it, break biuld whatever i need, go to workbech craft a new bag in 7 secs and bag them again
Can anyone help for some reason the tc placement wouldnt let me place the floor triangle for more chests and i placed the tc well and in the right spot
Just quick question, why not do the high foundation 2x1 with low foundation airlock with half walls. That way you can add 3 furnaces inside the half walls and use as a walkway instead of jumping through the doors on the half walls
The amount of stone people use for that type of 2x1, you might as well make a 2x2
@@whitepuddinn It's legit just 2 half walls more. I know they cost as much as normal walls but it's still just 2 walls. A 2x2 also needs 2 more foundations and 2 more floors.
2x1 with lowered tc foundation makes for so much more loot space
was able to fit 7 large boxes, 4 bbqs, 8 small boxes all in tc square lol
bbqs cant store loot anymore
and 7 boxes with tc is impossible
@@shadagan2779 mb, i’m console rust lmao
@@shadagan2779 it’s possible if you have a lowered foundation and then a half wall, that way you can put tc on the very bottom in the regular spot and have a triangle floor poking out from it towards tc, triangle floor fits 2 boxes very bottom fits 3 boxes and the top you can put 2, or even 3 aswell
@@Arcaeus trash base design, super hard to have any base designs that are expandable from this. Its possible, but none will be as strong as working from a normal 2x1 start.
You just me very heavily but reason I'm watching this video is to see the best way because I have no problem changing my ways love the video hjune
i don't know why i watch this i don't even play rust anymore. still your video is interesting as alway.
Before the update I could fit 4 large boxes 7 small boxes 4 grills, 3 bags, 3 furnaces, and a workbench.
Make a vid how u expand ur 2x1 plz :)
Thank You PaPa.
I can't get the half height triangle shelf to place, it protrudes into TC, it's as tight in the corner as it can be. Does TC size vary from server to server?
I have tried several times. Don't work lol
Spoonkid could learn some of this
That one you like is not good when you need to reseal quick. The sleeping bag is in build zone and will block you from placing a new door and can cause issues.
makes a video on how to build a 2x1 and places the airlock the wrong way around every time
when is the 2v2 version?
cannot for the life of me get boxes placed like that after putting the door frame 11:10
How do you place the TC so that it isn't in the way of the triangle floor? I had to try it like 5 times on a build server before I got it right.
make the wall to hardside then place the tc (door side) then after you place tc you can flip it back and it will be easier to place tc
for me it's so hard to put the tc so you can put the triangle
So I think I just suck at placing boxes but the third box at the bottom next to TC blocks the path for garage door. You show it’s possible but I can’t get it.
Nvrm, it’s just rlly rlly hard but I got it.
Actually none of these are the best bc all the airlocks are backwards, I always want my door on the right of the triangle to create an impassable doorway on the outer most door. If it's on the left and the impassable door is the interior door, they'll be in the airlock to kill you as you respawn
Yeah given the title of the video and his clout it's kinda ridiculous he messed the most basic and yet most critical part up.
When you are throwing down a 2x1 all you usually have is metal doors.
1:42 - it does - if your a 3 man you should have sth bigger than a 2,5x1 - and 1 furnace is by far not enough
I put that shit on the roof
He actually made a video. Lol
I can't seem to be able to put the shelf inside if I place the TC looking away from the door like the 4th version. Is it patched or am I doing something wrong?
Same. Came here to see if anyone else was having this issue.
@@moliver21atgmail I figured a workaround this. You build stones walls and rotate them where you wanna place TC, so they have the hard side facing inside. After placing it rotate them back again. This is the only way I could make this work.
@@moliver21atgmail I also use stone floor so I can align the TC more precisely with the lines
how did he place that triangle inside of his TC? It just appeared.
why can't i get the triangle to place? it overlaps on the tc
why not place a bag in the triangle foundation?
How do you get up ?
Lmao honestly doesnt really matter. If you need that many boxes in a 2x1. You should probably expand because you are snowballing.
i can never get the triangle in the tc room to work
How would you make bunkers on the side!?? 12:55
I put the TC in the airlock
mo matter how hard i try i cant get the boxes to fit on the bottom
now i know!
lack of metal left airlock ,more metsl right sirlock
Make next video about 2x2 pls
Whats a small bag again? 1:30
This is the true way, but there is also a Chad way
I followed and i get cant build in this location for the shelf sorry im new
i watched this video even tho i always make 2x2s and not 2x1, so you gotta make a 2x2 video now
The las 2 are garage. It's a pain in tha a$$ reaching the boxes in back.
Why the fuck is a trio living out of a 2X1 in the first place? 😂
Only issue i have is .. can teammates access the codelock on tc?
yes if you place the lock facing outwards instead of into the wall
You placed the locker in the softside of the walls after explaining that the hardside has more space, best 2x1 though.
Wrong the correct place to put the tc is exposed on the roof.
With the exception of box placement, my 2x1 is identical. I play solo and don't need so much storage - I like not keeping a ton of loot so raiders don't get as much. I tend do go with 4 large boxes, 2 small boxes, a BBQ, and a lantern or two inside my main loot room. I'll also place a small box under T2 and a lantern on top of it as well as a drop box above the furnaces which I eventually cover with honeycomb on the outside.
Nice
boom.
