@@quelqundu0653 nah man this can and will be done completely different. Here's how I and probably he wants it to be done. I'll organize it like a list so it's easier to understand. 1. Friendly tank spots enemy tank and either via a separate keybind or by just marking the location on the map, the coordinates get sent to the person in the Arty piece who is stationed somewhere outside of the normal battlefield. 2. Arty player receives coordinates and has to plot a firing solution. The coordinates being received could be something like how we have the HUD for radar aa where a mark shows up at a bearing. 3. Once a firing solution is achieved, the Arty player will commence the barrage. They will not be able to follow the shell on its path, only relying on their teammates(and the little hit camera) for adjustments and confirmation of rounds on target. 4. Repeat Remember WT is a completely different game than WoT. CAS and Helis are a thing in WT. Any arty battery will become a very juicy target for any plane in the sky as well as counter battery fire from other players. At top tier, they'd have to have an SPAA player near them at all times because helis would absolutely decimate them. You know for sure that that little bit of flimsy camo mesh will eat any caliber shell if it so much as grazes it. Very frustrating when you come in at a slight angle, try to snipe the gunner, but the mesh structure gets in the way and completely erases the shell while the guy using the BKAN misses his first 2 shots by hitting tracks and still ends you with the 3rd one before you finished reloading. I can see this tank(artillery) becoming noob-bait, where people will sit far away and spam half their ammo against 1 tank because they can't aim (and shells exploding by the tiniest leaf of a bush), but eventually get the kill through reload speed, but then run out of ammo and have to hope they have an easily accessible capture point to restock at. It'll be miserable 1v1ing one of these at full ammo, and it'll be miserable driving one of these and having your limited ammo pool get Gaijin'd by bushes fences and tracks/gunbarrels.
The Bandkanon was the largest armored vehicle in production for the entirety of its production. It also holds the record for the fastest-firing howitzer, being able to fire 15 rounds in under 45 seconds. Also, because the entire ammo rack is technically a clip, the Bandkanon is also armed with the world's largest autocannon.
No no no Phly. What you do is that you team up with a light tank. You sit on spawn, they scout. You send an HE and the scout tells you how to adjust your aim. Rain HE from above!

@@marinodezelak1180 gaijin wouldn’t be up to the challenge at all
Me and my playing group have been crying out for this for a while. Allowing them to call in arty as well would be interesting. No MG's, bombs, or anything like that. Just pure scout planes.
We also wanna see willy jeeps etc that purely scout, but can also work as ammo dumps for team mates.
@@markgregory983 man that first part you said about scouting, I fully agree. I would love if only scout vehicles could spot things. I’m tired of all the bs where you get hit by shrapnel or an mg and suddenly everyone knows where you are. The little damage/kill cam you get in the corner of your screen should be removed too. Would make realistic battles a whole lot more interesting
They did the Scout
Cant wait for a “the bkan is balanced” video
This makes me wish the BatChat 155 gets in the game (and it should, given that French TD tree is in need of some actually French vehicles)
I also wish the EMIL series of heavy tanks get added to the Swedish tech tree, given that the Bandkanon 1 chassis (and surprisingly enough, also the gun system) is actually a modified Kranvagn chassis

> tracers are good because we see where they're going
Tracers are bad *precisely because* everyone and their mother can see where they're going. One of the best things about the Type 75 SPH and the Lorraine 37L is that their tracerless shells allow you to snipe without getting seen by the enemy.
The Bkan 1 prototype ; AKV 151 was based on a KRV chassis, with the same turret the Bkan 1 has. Bkan 1 is based on a 103 chassis
It'd be nice to have real artillery pieces like this that could fire across the map at target's your allies call artillery on. Make the artillery ability a normal feature and not an unlock too. Extend this artillery gameplay feature to all the spg artys in the game too.
As a wot player who play war thunder NO thanks
Tell me you've never played WoT without telling me you've never played WoT
This would just turn it into another World of Tanks and the toxicity in the game would sky rocket, don't try to be original with your comment its not a good idea.
4. Repeat
Remember WT is a completely different game than WoT. CAS and Helis are a thing in WT. Any arty battery will become a very juicy target for any plane in the sky as well as counter battery fire from other players. At top tier, they'd have to have an SPAA player near them at all times because helis would absolutely decimate them. I mean a single Apache or Ka-50 would mean the end of an unprotected battery right there.
Even if they implemented WoT mechanics(shell tracking namely), they actually have a counter in WT. It's not something to worry about
@@OtterTreySSArmy ok its smart

Fun fact: this thing was created to become most fast firing nuclear cannon, not for artillery use like.

South Africa needs the G6 155 mm rhino.
It was designed for artillery but it also has anti tank capabilities. It also drives fast as hell.

i hate the fact that we get this beast of a spg but we got no mechanics whatsoever or atleast maps. But let’s dig holes i guess.
Bandkanon 1 actually have significantly higher muzzle velocity then SAV.
Bandkanon 1 have 850 m/s vs SAV 525 m/s.
Self propelled howitzers like paladin and crusader are coming.
We need more Artillery tanks, plus and Artillery computer just so we can rain steel on our enemies
World of tanks already has that and it's not good. Enemies can just kill people with 0 risk to themselves
The Bkan 1C is the predecessor to the Archer Artillery platform.
It was never put in to serial production but it was pland to have 500 of them to defend Sweden against the entire Russian Tank Army in the 1970is..
It is one of the best Artillery systems ever made
And it was made for a 3man crew and not a 5man
The problem is its amounition storage and reload of the Artillery magazine.
@@setaripantheon8801 actually we had a artillery piece named Haub 77 in between the Archer and Bkan 1. And the Archer is more related to the Haub 77 than the Bkan1

Wiki: The Bandkanon 1, abbreviation bkan 1 (meaning "tracked cannon 1"), was a Swedish self-propelled artillery vehicle in use with the Swedish Army from 1967 to 2003.
12:30 o/~ The boyz are back in town... o/~
The Swedish are impressive engineers in building armoured vehicles
Day 163: Play the AR-2 with three 500kg bombs in Ground RB with BT-5, SU-122, ZIS-30 and Chaika... or play it at a higher BR...
Too much velocity it wont ever work.
The maps are simply too small for it to work.
Even if it did you have to aim at the sky so you'd never know what you are hitting.
@@Opalthira that’s why the light tank would tell you how to adjust your aim, but I guess you are right. Maybe it could work on res desert?

Also t10m versus apfds which can front plate them anyway.
If you're argument is it can kill a 8.3 tank at 7.0 then you havent played war thunder long enough to know that an ostwind (5.0) can trap shot a is3 (7.0)
The only reason... ABSOLUTE ONLY REASON. This is in the game is cause a dev saw the reload mechanism... Prove me wrong.

Edit: Also, Phly, if you think those jet sounds are good, you should try to find an airshow with a Harrier demonstration. I had the pleasure of attending one of those, probably 15 or so years ago (I honestly can't remember), and the one thing that stuck with me, other than the Harrier hovering overhead at a 60 degree angle a hundred or so meters overhead, was the sheer, incomparable volume of that thing's engines over an airstrip. The concrete was vibrating, my entire skeleton was vibrating, my eardrums were trying to liquefy, and holy guacamole, would I ever love to experience that sound again. Pro tip, though, I recommend covering your ears anytime they fly directly overhead, because when I say the volume is incomparable, I mean it.
So, they've put a whole bunch of work into the jet sounds? 🤔

Sweden already by favorite tree. Can't wait for the BKAN to come out
This thing will be so overused for spawncamping, just set distance at begin of match fire everything j out and take other tank
This would be damn awesome with a squad scout that could exactly ping you the enemies location, you then just aprox the distance with the map and boom lob the shell over an impenetrable mountain
its velocity is far too high to be used at arty.
Only low tier tanks are able to do that because of the garbage velocity.
@@Opalthira or bmp1 xD although it has barely any explosive mass
Are they adding artillery to the game? Imagine calling for artillery support and actually getting a rain of 155mm shells. In ASL arty bombardments had different calibers. Mind you they also had infantry, AT guns, mines (AP and AT), barbed wire... Combat Mission basically was a computer version of Advanced Squad Leader.

Bkan stands for BandKanon, translates basicly to tracked canon.
I quit WT a while ago, but this tank might bring me back for a bit if it actually works like this in the actual game.
I.. uhh.. dont play WT. I dont have time to play anything. That said I love you and Oddbawz. I watch allll your videos guys... anyway. I wanna ask... WTF did they add a self propelled INDIRECT FIRE artillery piece into the game to compete with armor that is DIRECT FIRE. What the absolute fuq? Why? Unless you can lob a shell up on a high trajectory and have it come down and be your own artillery... is the WT skybox high enough for that? ;)
Dang, I wish I had what's that like $6-7k worth of golden eagles? Lol. Nice.
All main gunparts are external! This is sick xD
All this time and fences are still the ultimate armor.
Instead of these arties barely used in the world, they should implement some niece pieces used in the hunderds or thousands like the M109 Paladin (US), AUF1/AUF2 (French)...

Why does War thunder need Artillery if they actually don't really work correctly ;/ would be cool to have a map where you can actually utilize the map by sending an artillery strike properly instead of just using it like a typical MBT... But, I think the issue is that War Thunder is already a big game as it is, But only uses sections of the map, Unless you play simulator battles, But even with that I don't think it utilizes a solid map.
It's a shortening of the word Bandkanon (tracked cannon). Swedish acronyms are almost never spoken out loud, like nobody says strv, they say stridsvagn.
Trying to pronouncing the Swedish abbreviated names is like trying so say APCBC or APFS as a singled word....
