Greatly appreciate this report. I’ve followed and learned from you for years, your articles originally, and have put a lot of it to practice. This report is the next level. I’m looking forward to your winter series. Appreciate it!
This is good stuff. I’d like to here more about altimetry charts. This last year I’ve noticed that bluefin where around and biting from Monterey north to shelter cove during strong upwelling areas on the altimetry charts. The water temperature was up too in these areas 57-61° and the downwelling area where colder. What do you know about theses altimetry charts?
Do you have any idea WHY the bluefin are staying incloser to our waters / canyons , rather than migrating back to Japans waters……. Wonder IF they sense the radiation in the water over there.. Very sensitive waters there…. ???? Just wondering IF they sense that …. And stay closer to US
I believe it's due to a larger cycle that we don't understand because there isn't enough historical data available. These same bluefin where found in our local water from at least the late 1800's into the early 1900's. Their presence here at that time is what modern day saltwater sportfishing was founded upon, it just took them 100+ years to return after the last time they swam away. The only answer we don't have is how long they were here before people started fishing for them.
Thumb over the hose is such a great analogy. You are a good teacher.

Great video thank you!!
Thanks for checking it out!
This was super helpful. Thank you for the detailed report! If you are a master at understanding and finding bait then the gamefish will follow 👍🏼
Thanks! Where there's bait, there's fish!
This is good stuff.

Knowledge 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks for tuning in!
So is this cyclic enough to be predictable? Like what conditions would be favorable for some near shore upwelling for Oceanside?
When the rock fishing is over what's next is there any other fishing going on? I'm learning with your videos blessing.
