- Cariuma is proud to welcome Bastien Salabanzi to the team! Decades deep into skateboarding, Bastien has forever cemented his legacy. Starting as a child prodigy in France, Bastien steamrolled on to the scene at 16 in the 2002 Flip video, Sorry! As you can see from his newest part filmed entirely in Brussels, Belgium, Bastien is still killing it 20 years later. Cariuma is pleased to now have Bastien as part of the team, and we are excited to see more from Bastien in the near future!

For those of you new to skateboarding. Bastien has been doing this for over 20 years. I watched him destroying the contests and beating the pros when he was a child prodigy over 20 years ago. The fact you still going at this level is absolutely shocking. Nothing less. Bastien, you are one of skateboarding‘s treasures 💥
He’s been consistently great for so long! I had one of his boards over a decade ago
Flip's Sorry, nuff'said.
Came here to say this
His cross legged kickflips in Sorry had everyone risking their knees
I’d be surprised if any skater didn’t know that, but yeah, you never know today.
I remember watching him skate when HE was just a kid. Killing huge stair sets. Glad to see he’s still at it.
this video made me teary-eyed. thinking about those days..
Facts
My first thought was "wait, is that the guy from flip sorry??" Not many skaters can keep this level for so long.
Perfect music choice btw
I thought the same.
From the 00's follow by Brazilians skateboard mags. Showing photos and videos of him
I was gonna say....ive heard that name before but it was VERY LONG AGO....its a one of those names you dont forget....i kinda got him confused with sativa leung...name wise at least....its ridiculous how far tricks and ins and outs have progressed so so much.... seriously when i started in like 93 street was just starting to realize what it was....its wild
enough to make a grown man cry. just so awesome man
Glad to see him healthy and still skating on this level. He is a legend for that kick flip cross foot line back in the day.
To this day that is known as a 'flip salabanzi' in my country.
and for cab flips and double flips like every time. very inspiring... he made me do the crooked back lip exactly like this. love it. he had some hard time too, i never expected that he still is so good... is very inspiring.
I love seeing him skate, and this song was perfection for the part
Hard bro perfect music for sure
This part put a smile on my face. Bastian’s style is unmistakable. He has the best cab flip I’ve ever seen to this day. Thank you for this piece ❤
This part just touched my soul. . .
Wow Bastian! I remember when
Flips Sorry came out and seeing you skate for the first time and being blown away. . .and now 20+ years later still absolutely ripping! Thank you! And God bless!
Flip Sorry is still one of my favorite Skate Vidz
One of the legends!
I still remember the Flip team that so many champs. Arto, Mark, Geoff, Bastien! Such a power house.
Now we just need Arto back in it as well.
The good ole days
Epic house
Penny boys❤
Absolutely stacked team. Dont forget Rune Glifberg
This part is so clean, with perfect flow, song, and rhythmic editing.
The blessed Salabanzi. Truly a freak of nature. An this edit just confirms that more and more.
Why am I getting emotional? ... this was so good .
How did this just become one of my all time favorite parts??
He’s still got it. One of my favorite dudes to watch skate. Happy to see a new part from him.
The editing was masterful. The synergy between the music and the footage was a true work of art.
Much praise to Geoffrey Van Hove!
I just love music synced parts and this was just the right amount!
Trop simple
Je préfère entendre le bruit des replaque, c'est pour rien qu'on aime les rough cut
@@antoinenephew17 A relatable opinion. There's nothing better than the raw audio of skateboarding. However, the efforts made of this editor reminded me of my highschool days of renewing the parts that we would watch on a daily basis by finding new songs to attempt to synchronize with the footage. It's one thing to time the landing of tricks with the downbeats, but I'm especially impressed, especially in the early portions of the part, with how they aligned the off-beat musical flares with the "filler tricks," as well as how the "sustained parts," for lack of my vocabulary off hand, aligned with manuals, longer rails, and gaps.
I had his yellow flip peace board, got blue rowley xlts and ventures, flip HKD wheels n hoody because of bastien, this dude was one of my hero’s as a teen, even named my French son after him😂 glad he’s still doing it
Big up to the video editor for synchronizing the reception sound with the music. Feels amazing to watch
the way he lands his tricks is still the same as when he was just an itty bitty buddy ... that catch and stomp - the arm stee .. nice to see it still going strong. this was nice.
Salabanzi no pierde el Style , muy feliz de que siga vigente para seguir viendo esos cabaleriall que me emocionaban de chico .
Geez, Bastien still has it.
If course he does you egg
The editing is on point! So satisfying when he lands his tricks on the beat.
Rejoice, for he has blessed us with another part. Go Bastien.
One of the most poetic part i've ever seen. Magic moment, wonderful result. Perfect music & footage combinaison
Congrat ❤🛹
Almost pushing 40 and still putting out banging skate parts.
One of my favorites when I was growing up, and I'm 33 now. Crazy that he's still going strong
This is insanely well edited. Timing on the music makes the whole thing flow like a dream
So hyped to see you still shredding like a pro Bastien, thank you for being a legend and continuing to rip! ❤🎉
I love seeing some OGs getting some love!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Sick part!
Props to Bastien, but also Geoffrey on the edit!
The song, the skating, the edition... Skateboarding is an art form ❤
To be honest, I think that is the best Part in the history of skateboarding.
Bastien is a legend and World champion forever.
That first line. I've never seen anything like that. So clean, so much style. Especially after his injury.
Goat
A legend still ripping! This brings me joy. I gotta get back on my board.
Happy to see him still ripping after all these years. Thank you Bastien for this part and all who involved ❤
from 1:53 to 2:10 the synchronisation of the landings with the song's beat is perfect! Good job editor!
Childhood idol and all time legend. Great to see you again, Bastian!
Maximum respect to Bastien !! Wonderful part !!! Amazing and unique style !!! Big up ✨🥇💯
Bastien Salabanzi mérite un label de qualité tellement il casse le game depuis longtemps !!!!
💢💢
Let's take a second to appreciate the editing of the beat to match the landings for a lot of the clips. So satisfying 👌
I was raised with great soundtracks to great skatings, hell it pushed my friends to skate better, but this man seriously this man has one of the most epic videos of all time, so thank you!!!
What a wonderful part. Brilliant to see him still having fun, two decades after delighting us all with his Sorry part. Lovely audio, too 👌
Man, this is the beauty of skateboarding
So glad Bastien is getting the late recognition he deserves. Such a classy trick selection!
Still one of the steeziest ever. Bastiens skating aged like fine wine. Happy to see him here after what he been through.
Bastian is a legend! Rock on! Hall of fame...Penny, Salabanzi, Reynodls, P-Rod, ....new legends
To have so much power in your 30s is incredible to see. The song belongs to his magnificent skateboarding. Much respect!!!
In 30s its still easy. I am 38 and i feel myself just like in my 20s. Maybe in 40s its going to be bit harder. Its all about way of life 😊
@@gabrielgabriel5177 drink 2 litres of water everyday.. Eat healthy. Do the stretching don't do drugs and drink... Fly like a birdddd
@@tripler9632 thats exaclty what i do and i am not married and no kids not even workin right now lol
Uff Salabanzi..history! what a pop! when came out Sorry we went crazy, what a video!
This just took me back to my childhood ❤️
Discovered this chap in July 1998 in a big contest in Montpellier, France. He was like 12 & was kicking it hard ! Glad to see he still got game 😊
This guy has been so good for so long. With a style that lets you know it’s him from miles away. Crazy how many skaters there are, but nobody skates quite like Bastien.
Born in 87 and still putting out styling video parts, what a champ!
Fullcab flip, big flip front board, crook back lip clips made this 37 year-old man got emotional🥹
Man, he's been holding it down so hard for two decades🙌
as someone still skating 30 years later, its awesome to see Bastien still on point! such a great part, hyped to see it :D
Much needed in 2023, Just a solid nostalgic skate part THAT MAKES YOU SMILE!!!
I'm 41 years old, I don't skate anymore. But I used to skateboard everyday, it was my life back then. I remember going to camp Woodward thinking maybe 1998, and the first day there, the pros were doing a demo for us, and Bastien showed up, think 12 years old at the time. He just killed it there.
Sad part I remember the other campers didn't seem to like him for some reason.
But I loved skating with him. He didn't speak English at that time but I remember he would come up to me and just smile and we would skate together. We had some fun little sessions together. Just a fun memory for me. I miss those days. Skateboarding taught me alot about trying my best and determination.
That’s literally one of the best parts I’ve ever seen
Another great part from the legendary Bastien Salabanzi. Bastien is unbelievable he's been shredding for decades and still killin it, true definition of "I ain't going nowhere".
It's so refreshing to see this man still ripping hard and never giving up his true passion
Weirdly, I was just watching his part from Really Sorry when I used to skate back in high school. Then I wondered where this dude was nowadays. The fact he is still skating is impressive as hell. To the young generation, this dude was the spotlight during my high school days. Flip was on top with their team, then Girl, and then Baker. Great times 🤟🏽 keep skateboarding
Feelgood part of the year! Bravo Bastien 🎉
Legend. You’ve been ripping since I was a young lad
The landing of the tricks to the beat is off the chain , this was such an amazing part , super stoked for BAstien 🔥🔥
good too see OG still at it!. perfect song choice too.
Bastien still Killin it. His part in Flip Sorry is one of my all time favorites. Wish I still had it on VHS❤❤❤
what a great part with beautiful song.. its great to see Bastien still on board.
The skating was awesome and I also have to give it up to the dude filming. None of that crazy fast zooming in and out making me dizzy. Reminds me of how videos used to be filmed. Solid work bruv.
The first time I've seen this boi.. He was 15 years old... He was dope and he never changes
Leyenda motivando a este joven adulto de 32 con dolores de piernas y rodillas y luchas muchas muchas contra la sociedad, las drogas, estoy fuera pero Bastien me ha echo volver al juego, te quiero mucho Bastien ❤️
Vamos
one of THE legends. just like that
Thanks to Berrics for demonstrating that age is just a number and skating is life.
One of the best to ever do it. Glad to see he’s still killin it after all these years.
Great part and great skate, I met him when he was so young in a contest back in 1997 (in Provins, France). Great filming too by GVH, as good as the American. Well done guys :-)!
Proper part ! A french legend ! Toujours aussi lourd Bastien ça fait trop ziz ! Bless up fam
This part gave me nothing but good vibes!!! I’m here for more Bastien goodness!!
i remember him absolutely killing it during mystic cup in prague in 2002/3 or 4 (can't remember), and now 20 years later he's basically doing the same. legend
this was one for the books, regardless of the company. the person and skating speaks for itself!
Confirmed - still absolutely ripping
Back in the days between 2006-2008 summer break, my parents used to go to the beach and drop me at the skatepark of Hyères for the afternoon. I learned my first ollie there starting as teenager and I saw those guys also around my age shredding the park like crazy, and of them was Bastien. The video of this huge flip on the pyramid, that was like unreal.
The city looks beautiful!
still love him…when he came out in „sorry“….toooo crazy…also seeing him in dortmund kickflip fs boardsliding rails….GOAT
Ay Thanks for still skating man, I know that sounds stupid but it’s like part of my skate childhood lives on. Flip sorry/ really sorry was like my get hype to skate video. Awesome to see him still rockin the sweats and beanie like in the 2000’s
Also love the song. Editor did a good job, and I love when tricks start or land on the beat. This song definitely goes on the cat kereoke list for me
Uno de los mejores de toda la historia del skateboarding!
A true legendary dude. Happy to know he is getting support for his skating because he deserves it all. Ça dechire, Bastien
I love how the landings resonate with the beat ❤
Still killing it. Bastien ruled back in the day.
One of the gods of style
Best landing probably in skateboarding
Bastien is a hall of famer, FOR SURE.
Even they blacklisted him …
His sorry and really sorry parts are forever a gem.
His prime was unbelievable
Speechless! What a part this was!
Life is so short. It was like yesterday when i i was teenager and saw him in helsinki in same competition at early 2000. He was crazy and his style was best i ever had seen
Song was on point. Skating was on point. 10/10
Legend! Big hug from Portugal!
Always has been a mind-blowing skater and a favorite of mine. Better and better.
Soooo good. The song/edit and the skating go perfect together. Yesss
Great skating, and props to the editor too!
Really dug the eye on the sign and the eyes in song lyrics. Cleaver!
Amazing part, always been a huge fan so happy to see new footage, please keep it coming Bastien!
That cab flip. Kinda emotional
Thank you! I saw him once at Mystic Cup long time ago - that was something to see his skating live. Happy that he is good.
Always loved his style. Pure legend.
I remember him in the flip videos. Good to see he's still killing it
I remember seeing him in Flip's Sorry about a thousand years ago which is about how old I feel right now as well.
Good to see salabanzi healthy and still ripping…he threw cabflip Boardslide on handrails when nobody knew that combination was possible…real OG ❤
