His video from 10 years agois what sparked my interest in skateboarding videos. I am in awe with his creativity, balance, and sense of freedom he transpires. Thank you so much!
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. I'm trusting in nothing but the blood of Jesus to pay for my sins to keep me out of hell. For undeniable proof through archaeological evidence, Bible Expedition is the best channel. The god of this world is the devil and controls all politics and religion especially the Catholic Church as counterfeit Christianity. I pray for the Heroin team and anyone who sees this, in Jesus name Amen. After I am saved, my works and my deeds will determine how well I will spend eternity in heaven at the judgment seat for saved people.
When Mark Gonzales says “Have fun, be creative, that’s what skateboarding is all about!” I can’t help but think of Gou and Rob, it’s all about taking your eye for sound skateboarding spots and looking a little deeper. Everything about balance is presence.
Came here to say the same thing. Almost, a whimsical view into childhood in a way. Dude is skating items not meant whatsoever for skating in mind, right on the playground, surrounded by mulch with no pavement in sight. Using imagination to make the surrounding obstacles his to play with, like we used to as kids. Refreshing. Timeless, despite the style being so esoteric.
I skated with Gou when I was stationed in Okinawa, I didn’t know who he was, but now I do… I always spoke of this wild Okinawa skater… blessings and Respect.
Incredible concentration, technique, and originality. Gou is a true legend and it's great to see him back. Rob Taro did amazing filming and editing. His latest video "Timescan 2" is a must see. Loved it! Thank you, Thrasher Mag, for posting.
I rewatched a friend's short film which was nominated for an academy award this morning. Watching this, I think you should submit to festivals. This is high art. It is beautiful, futuristic yet nostalgic and is evocative of emotion. It felt like a love letter to skateboarding and all that is in its DNA; passion, creativity, individuality and a pure expression of humanity. Please don't ever stop doing what you're doing. The world needs more of this.
This part actually made my eyes tear up. Absolutely beautiful. Captures the pure wonder and love of skateboarding. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world.
Love that you can see how and why Gou has such a unique style. Being determined to work with what spots you have available. Gou teaches us that even the most hopeless looking spots can produce something great.
While the majority of skating is going in a bigger, higher, longer trajectory (which I still love). Miyagi San is going in the complete opposite direction and seeing how creative he can be. Its like watching an abstract painting, except with skateboarding.
Cant express enough how much I enjoyed this. Thank you so much to Rob for cheering him on and thank you so much to Gou for producing such a great part! My only complaint is that I can’t see him skate for hours, truly somebody who skates for themselves. Bravo
The board didn't even flip once during the whole part. This fact alone triggers some pent up undone psychological-traumas I have about "fitting in" and conforming to the "status quo." This video part does not live up to traditional "core skating" rules. It being posted on the infamous "Thrahser channel" means it should conform to the rules of skateboarding. Thrasher is supposed to be the biggest media source for skateboarding (besides the Freeskatemag and Jenkem and GH and maybe the nine club). Thrasher should uphold their reputation for being the most authentic and valid site for skateboarding content. They are breaking rules right now and it's breaking my mind. I expect the sport of skateboarding to conform to at least _some_ rules such as not sliding down a rail on your butt, while you have a skateboard in hand. This is anti-skateboarding to me, because the board is being held rather ridden (rode?). Why not do the trick without the board? Nonetheless, the video part helped to expand my awareness of self. I realise what I have been resentful to inwardly because of it triggering me to look within. I always wanted to "fit in" as a child, in *fear* of being reprimanded by my mother or my teachers at school. I fucking hate school man. I wish for all children on earth to be homeschooled. I want to find the truth, not fit in.
You ever see any of Richie Jackson's clips? Him and Gou are super similar in that they are also about being different and creative and doing stuff that nobody else is doing
Wonderful part that show that you don't need to be at peak Auf what's possible with basic tricks to have fun! There is so much room for more like in this vid
Absolutely amazing play on the concepts of skating, completely reimagining where the board can go, how tricks start and end, what can be skated. I had no idea what would happen the whole time.
GOD THIS WAS SO SICK. I watched all of the clips on insta of the pond rail and couldnt wait to see the final product and it was so worth the wait. Thank you all for this.
While everyone else tries to outdo each other, miyagi just does his thing and tops himself while remaining true to his core style. Truly a painter of a skater
this man made me realize skating is what you make of it, there's a spot everywhere. he's also the reason i wanted to skate japan when i was little. he made everything look fun.
makes me very proud to be Japanese. Japan's poor and difficult conditions of street skating made skaters really competitive in park skating and very unique style like his. If you don't know "OSaka daggers" , go check them, too.
I was shocked when I first saw Gou Miyagi on DVD more than 10 years ago when I was a student skating. I copied his favorite trick "chinco" so much. After I started working, I lost interest in skating for about 10 years, but I happened to come across this video and was surprised. This is fate. It made me want to skate again. He is that kind of skater. Thank you Living Legend.
Out of the box skaters like Richie Jackson and Gou are my favorite type to watch. Keeping it fun and creative is refreshing when we're oversaturated with technical ability
Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments!
This really means so much to Gou and I. - Rob Taro

Most refreshing skateboarding I've ever seen. I feel so calm right now

Love the opening b-roll shots of locations he has done legendary moves at in his past video parts, made me feel super nostalgic. Gou is the best!!
Yeah surprised I haven’t seen that before. Really clever editing
The 50-50 in the park with the wind blowing was crazy, this dude has some insane balance!
I skated with Gou when I was stationed in Okinawa, I didn’t know who he was, but now I do… I always spoke of this wild Okinawa skater… blessings and Respect.
Mans put all his points towards balance 😂 unique style
Yeah, he wouldn't be a very good skateboard or without the balance..
@@spacetimeworm 👍🏻
the music and editing fit the skating so well. what a masterpiece!!!
Fishmans is goated
You can never go wrong with Fishmans and Skateboard
the editing ruins this, it has so much potential
i had to mute the de de de de de de de de de de de de de de dede breathe de de de de de de de de de de de de de, skateboarding was amaaazing though
Who plays the song?
So much personality in his skating. What a pleasure to watch. Thanks for the upload!
i agree, it was like eye candy such unique style
SOTY 2023. F whoever won unless it's this guy.

What a way to end the year 2023! A Gou Miyagi Part! Blessed!
Love that you can see how and why Gou has such a unique style. Being determined to work with what spots you have available. Gou teaches us that even the most hopeless looking spots can produce something great.
He looks like he's having fun. 😂 When you're inner child takes over creativity. This was great to watch.

The SOTY scramble almost made forget why I was here.... hi Gou... your uniqueness can't be bought or won, it's just there
😑

saw gou in the title and had to click
Same
Saw the thumbnail and didn't even look at the name!
He is very differentiated!!!
His skating makes you want to skate.
Same
If anyone ever asks you how skateboarding is an art form or an expression of self, just show them this video. Gou is the man
This triggers every emotion good and bad. I love it.
bad too?? i’m serene asf out here after that
What's good Kulla

One of the most creative skateboarders ever. Loved it. Can’t believe it has been 10 years since his Heroin part in “Video Nasty”. Legend.
damn, has it really been that long?
can't stop smiling while watching Gou
masterpiece
fishmans and gou??? like a dream come true
the skateboarding world needs so much more of this. tech is cool, gnarly is cool, but i just want to live in gou's world of pure fun
totally!
🙏🛹❤️
It's always so disheartening to see people try to gatekeep skateboarding, so I'm always fully behind guys who go all in against the grain like this
You ever see any of Richie Jackson's clips? Him and Gou are super similar in that they are also about being different and creative and doing stuff that nobody else is doing
This clip took a fraction of my depression away.
ありがとう Mr. Miyagi 🙏🏽
Hope you feel better!!
I don't have words for this. It's a poem. Art. It's interpretive 🛹 dancing. Another triumph for Gou Miyagi
such a legend he is, just having fun doing it
Gou is a bloody wizard. Absolute legend!
such a creative way of skating.
the rail balance is insane!
So you wait until SOTY is announced, then release this masterpiece
So unique. It's amazing how he can express so much of himself through his skating. Even his sense of humor! glad I whatched this
I skated with this guy in 1996-1997 Sunabe sports land Okinawa.
And how was it?
Introverted, hiding, targeting, side lined, observing, mysterious, silent, and friendly
saw this dudes part back in highschool maybe middle school, blew my mind and loved the freedom he has. super entertaining
This made me so damn happy! Thank you, Gou!
this part just brought me back so many years.. felt young again.
RIP Shinji.
Your controlled flimsiness paired with Gou's would have made you smile.
Thanks for reminding me about this wonderful music.
Always throwing gloriousness at us
this is the most creative skating i have seen in a while
Woooow a new Gou Miyagi part?!?!? His parts are the best parts, truly progressing skateboarding as a fun artform!
i dont know wtf i just watched but i really enjoyed it, what a vibe!
Dude just drops the most feel good part of the year
Wonderful part that show that you don't need to be at peak Auf what's possible with basic tricks to have fun! There is so much room for more like in this vid
His skating is fine art
Japan is as beautiful as this video shows. Editing was awesome. Skating was artistic and creative.
skating the rail like a mini was kind of mind blowing.. if he ever learns to ollie he'll be unstoppable
He used to actually Ollie onto handrails,’until he got super creative and did his own thing.
@@okisktr7898 yeah I know, I really respect and enjoy his skating but it’s funny to me
A true masterpiece. Thank you Gou! I've been a fan for 10+ years
The part we’ve been waiting for!
Highly appropriate for thrasher to display and promote this type of creativity in skateboarding. It what makes skateboarding always socially relevant.
He’s got the inspiring essence of freedom. And is a true rail ninja
When you put all your skill points in Balance and Creativity 😅
Love it
Just a man doing what makes him happy, nothing but joy absolute banger part
Gou Miyagi is an instant click. Like 0 hesitation must watch
Absolutely amazing play on the concepts of skating, completely reimagining where the board can go, how tricks start and end, what can be skated. I had no idea what would happen the whole time.
So creative, so special, so japanese. Gou is a fuckin legend and a big inspiration for everyone who really love's skateboarding
GOD THIS WAS SO SICK. I watched all of the clips on insta of the pond rail and couldnt wait to see the final product and it was so worth the wait. Thank you all for this.
Legend is back!
This really brightened up my day.
certainly didnt expect another part of Gou! dude is a legend. he is the inspiration for all those skaters that think outside the box. the original.
While everyone else tries to outdo each other, miyagi just does his thing and tops himself while remaining true to his core style. Truly a painter of a skater
this man's way of skating is really a form of art
🙏🛹❤️
Always loved the creativity in skate, not the big air, rotation wtv they go for xgames. Just having fun in your neighborhood. Great content! Thanks
So chill, I love it. This guy would vibe really well with Jason Park
Jason park got all his inspirations from him lol
This is the best video ive seen in a while. such a vibe
The emperor of dorking around.
Fishmans for the background music is absolutely perfect
The myth, the legend
this man made me realize skating is what you make of it, there's a spot everywhere. he's also the reason i wanted to skate japan when i was little. he made everything look fun.
He’s probably so bored with our reality.
He's not bored, cuz he lives in another one!
This is delightful. Expertly executed, filmed, scored, and edited
I thought he would never give us another part. We have been blessed!
I wanna make music that sounds like the way this guy skates. Wonky, stylish, buttery, innovative, weird & beautiful. Love this dude.
Beautiful skateboarding. Hard to live up to the Miyagi name but he sure has done it ❤
makes me very proud to be Japanese. Japan's poor and difficult conditions of street skating made skaters really competitive in park skating and very unique style like his. If you don't know "OSaka daggers" , go check them, too.

Love this so much, especially the long rail filmed from the slide. Fishmans music suits this perfectly too.

Valid point (damn autocorrect...)
such a pure style. he emanates love for this piece of wood we all have grown to enjoy. major props to the filmer as well
Not as inventive as his previous part, but I have nothing but respect for this man. Skateboarding is awesome !
Gou is the guy! People should watch all his skate parts you can find. Truly soothing skateboarding.
Fun fact: He’s still floating in the middle of the ocean at this very moment
This is probably one of the most inspirational parts I have ever seen. The imagination put into this is top tier!🤘🏼
When I see dudes doing stuff like this, I cant help but think of Neli Blender.
shedding a little tear for this masterpiece, what a legend!
Had me smiling through the whole vid 😅
Pure legend right there, brings a genuine smile watching
L nice music tho
That shot of a man floating out to sea with a skateboard on his head now lives rent-free in my head.
Gou has been shaping the meaning of skateboarding tricks for almost two decades
Absolute breath of fresh air. I feel happier now.
Blew me away! So skilled, stylish and creative. You have my gratitude.
