That was an awesome event, Axell really went higher than I had expected and I had to fully send it on that last run. It meant a lot to me to win that one because I know how hard I worked for this one and also how hard Axell worked for it as well. Also just because I wanted to win back to back at his yard. Not sure of your remember, but people used to get out and do things before technology took over.. You're right, it isn't the early 2000's, those years were better.

Anyone defending the social media format lives inside their Xbox and is probably afraid of large crowds. I truly feel bad for this generation, if they only knew what life had to offer pre 911 then maybe they'd fight to get it back

These jumps are just insane… you make a mistake and you’re in trouble. Massive respect to these riders.
What stadium? They can't air out a Quarter in a stadium, they'd be decapitated by the rafters... Unless it was outside. But for TV this is the beat place, it's huge and can get very creative. Before being at his compound, freestyle courses became standard and borning. Last 2 interesting courses were both at the LA collesium.. first and best was 03, where both TP and Deegan Landed a 360 and my friend Kenny didn't even want to hit the jumps because they were so big and had huge dirt hits you coulsnt hit off muscle memory and a few transfers. Then the one in 2010 where Travis won it too, his last FMX gold and he did a double flip AFTER he already won, he did it soley for poops and laughs and because he told everyone he might do one. TP always delivered for the industry and fans.

Only dudes competing were Raha and Hodges. Other dudes were just there to make up some time. I mean Cory is alright but the rest are just there for show. They didn’t go there to win seems like. It’s always same dudes. Just like Tomac and Sexton right now 😂

crashing at 50 feet up plus 30 feet for the height of the transition/landing is basically 8 stories up and would be game over. Pretty crazy.
