It's gorgeous, and even in strong Scandinavian. I am a fan of your art from Russia. Your songs are filled with true magic, I listen to them when I get tired of the mundane, and I need to wake up my heart again. Don't stop, there are very few skalds like you in the whole world
I'm Thai, but don't why I like Scandinavian culture... I started learning swedish by myself just about 2 weeks before I heard this song. Now it's haunted me. If you are a witch, I have already lost my temptation now.
Listening this version of Herr Mannelig for the last couple of months and it's relaxing me when I'm stressed at work. Also started to learn Swedish out of curiosity :) Tack för detta mästerverk!
I grew up with harpists and traditional Celtic folk musicians for friends, but it's been years since I've heard anything like this. It's a spiritual experience; I feel like I'm coming home. I needed that right now; I know it's been a while, but thank you for sharing this (and everything else that you've shared).
@@Merriganmusic My experience is so limited in scope, but I've been spending a lot of time listening to music lately -- more than ever before. I've mostly been listening to modern rock, classic rock, and metal, but a friend did turn me on to bardcore :) I'll addsome traditional Nordic music to my playlist.
I never actually paid any real attention to the tagelharpa... until now. I like how you created that constant sounding "wave" throughout the whole song with it. It gives a very eerie feeling. Can't wait to hear what more you do with it in the future! Almost feel like closing my eyes, enjoy and feel inspired by that wonderful, magical arrangement. If only there wasn't the problem of this being one of the most pleasant videos to look at. The lightning and the colors... And that make up. So much beauty at the same time.

Worth the day and the night! Thank you for your time, effort, skill, time and beauty! Love the original, love your take. And your Tangelharpa sounds amazing! Whatever this is. jk x) The texture you used to hide the glitching looks like it was on purpose. I wouldn't have noticed it :D It fits. Take care, much love from germany
Dear Merrigan, very nice interpretation by Mr. Mannalig, one of the best I've heard, thank you for your work. By the way you are a very pretty young lady with a amazing voice. thanks for singing this song for us. greetings from Germany
Merrigan, Queen of Scandinavia, performing a song I was obsessed with when I was an undergrad a decade ago (!!!) ... you awaken the music in my brain and my heart and I love you for making this. ❤
Herr Männerlingl has been one of my most beloved songs to repeat and listen for both its musical and linguistical value So far, your iteration is now my favorite of all the female singers, including the original singer; by far your voice is the most beautiful for a song of this tale Excellent work madame
i love this song since i found it in a very popular game. and i think many can confirm, it was nice to hear that one in the game Gothic 1. still a nice feeling to hear this song, especially performed by a very talented person. well done, Miss Merrigan ♥
Wow, this has got to be the first time i have seen this song property translated by lyrics. I am a natural linguist, my brain auto draws connections between subtitles and sounds which prompted me to go ohhhh this time.
You still exist!!! I discovered your music so long ago and have been so happy whenever I see you still posting now and then. It's interesting that this song seems to be the "new thing" I've been seeing people cover a lot lately, I assume similar to "My Mother Told Me" going around a while ago. It's a good song so I have a bunch of these new covers lined up to listen to in my Watch Later... but as soon as I saw yours I got super excited and started listening immediately 🥰 While getting ready for school at 6:15 in the morning, mind you, haha
Hello Merrigan! I was raided into your stream yesterday by Sanni and when I came here to your UA-cam channel to subscribe I noticed you had a version of one of my favorite traditional songs. Having listened to it now, I am blown away how amazing it is! Your voice just fits this song so well! And the instrumentation is just on point! I loved every moment of it and am looking forward to watching all of your videos now!
Beautiful!!! I love you new arpa it sounds misterious. Your voice as always match perfect with this type of folklore music, i adore it. You are a great musician and artist.
I just discovered you through your voicework on the Song of the Green mod for Skyrim and after hearing your songs on that i just had to check you out and see if you had done anything else. Delighted to find your channel, you have a beautiful voice and i look forward to hearing more of your stuff. I love this song.
I Don't know if it is Ironic or not. But your voice is very soft and sweet, and you look like it too, But your eyes look full of pian and things morbid, SeaQueen
Oh gosh, I discovered you from a Skyrim mod and now I'm so happy I've discovered this amazing song 😊To make it more epic, I opened up another tab of the same video and played it while playing this one, which created an echo effect, it was very _mesmerizing_ 😎been having this on replay while working on my light novel writing, your fantastical and mystical melody really fits with the fantasy world I am creating, it also makes me want to play my tagelharpa (which I haven't had a chance to play it, but I most likely will as I plan to write sea shanties for my story) 🎶perhaps I'd like to feature one of your songs on it someday. thank you for posting this, it deserves a sub 🙇
Sometimes the UA-cam algorithm hits the right spot. Excellent cover and voice.
yeah not enough hé ^^

Here’s the lyrics, so everybody can sing
Bittida en morgon innan solen upprann
Innan fåglarna började sjunga
Bergatrollet friade till fager ungersven
Hon hade en falskeliger tunga
Herr Mannelig herr Mannelig trolofven i mig
För det jag bjuder så gerna
I kunnen väl svara endast ja eller nej
Om i viljen eller ej:
Eder vill jag gifva de gångare tolf
Som gå uti rosendelunde
Aldrig har det varit någon sadel uppå dem
Ej heller betsel uti munnen
Eder vill jag gifva de qvarnarna tolf
Som stå mellan Tillö och Ternö
Stenarna de äro af rödaste gull
Och hjulen silfverbeslagna
Eder vill jag gifva ett förgyllande svärd
Som klingar utaf femton guldringar
Och strida huru I strida vill
Stridsplatsen skolen i väl vinna
Herr Mannelig herr Mannelig trolofven i mig
För det jag bjuder så gerna
I kunnen väl svara endast ja eller nej
Om i viljen eller ej

Beautiful song as always, and your makeup is amazing.

Hauntingly beautiful, literally
Very well done. The chroma keying is funny, you're right, but more amusing than annoying. The Tagelharpa is really pretty!
"Amusing" wasn't really the vibe I was going for, haha
I love the song Herr Mannelig and I liked the combination of tagelharpa and drum sound . Thank you very much for your music

Though, one question. In another version it translated Rosalund as grave of roses. Was grove meant to be a typo in the subtitles?
Yes, the swedish word "lund" means grove. Grave would be "grav." :)
