@@JuanCarlitoMendoza Well mabe I can. Not so shure. I've been playing drums for 30 years and I'm nowhere near your level of drumming. I've been watching all your quick licks, but they're way over my head. I love your smooth effortless drumming and your easy to understand lessons. But it's one thing to understand and another to actually learn them. Completely different ball game 😄
@@PezrulezHaakon totally understand. My goal this year is to record some "attainable" lessons. In the past I wanted to demystify some of the phrases I play, however, I can see where it the lessons were a little too advanced. However, this year I am going to film a bunch of lessons that the vast majority can play. Again it's all about perspective. You can always play these lessons slower than what I record them. Have a great day!
@@JuanCarlitoMendoza Thank you for your reply. It's definately a good thing that you demystify your licks. That will definately help some drummers. It's actually not the building blocks of your licks that are hard to understand, or in some cases to learn. The hardest thing is to get them up to a usable speed, your amazing smoothness and use them in all those strange ways within subdivisions in odd time signatures, you do, where I get totally lost 😂 I definately going to check out your coming lessons. It would be nice if you could make those lessons as building blocks on the way of learning those harder licks you've done in the quick licks. I think every lick and orchestration has its own home tempo, where it comes to life. It's just that I have major difficulties getting most of the rudiments up to speed. I hit my max speed really quick. Way under the home tempo. Thanks! Have a nice day 😊

Absolutely AWESOME lesson structure! I love this, including the important detail for the underhand cross to the hihat. Thank you so much for this! Do you currently have a product where all the lessons are taught like this? Also that was a sick backing track.
Christopher Mundahl so glad you enjoyed it! Yes I have a bunch of detailed lessons like this on my website CarlitoMendoza.com there’s a lot of material there and will be updating the site frequently. Thanks again for checking out the lesson!

Hey Juan Carlito, thank you so much for fantastic lessons I am a 59 year old guy who started drumming 5 years ago and was wondering your thoughts on the match vs traditional aspect of drumming, I feel like I make better strides with match and am not sure if it’s worth the time it takes to put in with traditional grip?
Exactly! That's definitely one of those tricky things where you just have to be conscious of your balance and seating height. Might need to adjust your seat height or just adjust your touch on the pedals. Good luck!
Juan Carlito Mendoza Thank you for the ideas! Yes, I play heel up and sit low so it’s a challenge. It is starting to come together though now, after two days of struggle.
Excelente!! me acabo de suscribir. ¿De casualidad esa snare no es una gretsch black hammered full range? Me podrías decir qué drumheads estás usando en el vídeo tanto batters como resonants. Gracias.

Your snare sounds so crisp! Love it!
So simple and spicy. It takes a master to make it sound like that.
I'll never learn to do that so smooth.
You can totally do it! Just take your time! :)

The thing that makes this killer beat so hard is the two double kick drum hits in the second measure. It kind of throws me off balance

Juan Carlito Mendoza thank you master 🙏🏻
Good sounding groove, but it could be easier to play LRRL on 4 of the 2nd bar...
Joerg Meyer then it wouldn’t be a paradiddle. I wanted to stay true to it’s original form.
Ok - i see.
Hi Juan! What software do you use for drum transcription?
I usually use Sibelius 7, but here I used the faster hands system for the notation.
😱🤔
What model are those hihats?
15" Meinl Dark Hats

Remo Valenti 👏 congrats 😂
@@JuanCarlitoMendoza thanks! Even my Name has "drum history" in it! (And I'm still an average drummer!)
