Poor Kelise was not having a good day. I'm surprised by all these mistakes - especially the multiple beam falls. You don't usually see these kids falling 2 or 3 times in one routine.
The quality of bars overall aren't good, not just one skill. Last year's score of 2nd / 3rd reserve for bars final is 14.4 so at least mid 13 is considered as okay, but many scored 12 - low 13.
We do also have to consider that this is a SUPER early meet for the season. I would say a majority of these girls are about 50-60% ready right now. Majority of vaults were just fulls, working upgrades/adding new elements and just testing the water from different skills in a competition environment. This is pretty normal for a competition this early. Classics and Championships are both in August, I can guarantee the quality of gymnastics will be vastly different than what we watched this weekend because it was a very rough meet lol
I know its still early in the season, but the level of this sport just seems to be going downhill with the COP, especially in usag where it used to be so creative and challenging, i dont remember the last time i felt excited watching a meet
2:19 realllly gurrrl??? The extension on some of those leaps, their form in general, just yikes. Falling early on in the season, cool got it, but still... yikes,
Idk what’s going on with USA gymnastics, hell even some international gymnastics organizations, over these past few years but a lot of these athletes are really sloppy in some of the most basic skills. Yeah it’s super early in the season so falls are expected and they’re all talented but it just seems like the fundamentals have been neglected by everyone and it’s showing in some of these falls that are avoidable. All of these girls have enormous potential but it looks like the organizations doesn’t care anymore.
these days it feels like everyone only focuses on doing hard skills and don't care about form or anything. the cool part of gymnastics was how they'd do skills and make them look effortless and graceful but now almost none look like that. it's not fun to watch anymore
All these athletes need to drop to level 10 to get their basics together. These mistakes are due to poor technique and doing skills they are not ready for. I think USA gymnastics needs to recalibrate and for it’s the first we are all saying this, THANK GOODNESS FOR THE NCAA. Something needs to change.
This is a very early meet in the season. The athletes have not polished the skills that they will be competing, so there were a lot of falls. Most of these mistakes had nothing to do with technique, they were about timing and precision. I don't understand why everyone is missing this.
No need to drop to level 10. Falls are fine when it's so early this year. But yes it's hard for them to earn a world spot except Zoe (bars) and Skye (beam).
@@rebeccasilver2181 I dont understand why u dont understand. This skills will look just as sloppy in the middle of the season as they do now. Period. Its not their timing or precision only, its their entire being as a gymnast, the skills etc.
Winter cup is always a bit chaotic. I thought that was part of its charm 😂
I like these fall videos. It shows the layman exactly how hard some skills are :)

Early season jitters would be my guess. It was definitely a little strange.
I was there the beam wasn’t great…
@@charlotteboothgymnast yeah, from what I saw on the video of the whole competition- everyone practically was having falls.
2:19 flavia saraiva moment
I feel for a Gage team with the safesport news coming out the week of the meet. They have been through it. They looked rough.
Was there something wrong with the corner of that mat? Everybody fell right there.
Hahahaha these falls are so funny 😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂
They are having a lot of trouble with Van Leeuwen. They need to fix this

Many had problems with a full pirouette!
You also have to take into consideration that these are not the top gymnasts in the country right now
Do you have Victoria Nguyen's vault fall? Have heard about it but haven't nt been able to find it.

Everybody fell on their forward tumbling it seems 😳 I get why most gymnasts hate it now
That girl kelise having a hard time
Some of these looked painful, ouch. Others were definitely concentration breaks.

Maybe they thought it was "fall" gymnastics.
You got one thing right. They are NOT polished. Heck they are so rough it is embarassing.
