If you think about it, a lot of people really don't know about the Amber Heard scandal. As far as PR goes, she has not been dropped by the studios, her films have not been cancelled, and she hasn't been sacked from Aquaman 2 because on average her image is good PR. I bet magazines barely even touch the topic. It's mostly people on reddit and youtube commentators that are the noisy people. Twitter hasn't really been shaken in my opinion.

I love Richard Dawkins but I cannot watch this. Before he even gets to speak the repulsive narcissist interviewing him had used the word "I" five times and the words "me" and "my" twice apiece. Then she sits there fidgeting and preening every time he speaks. And for the record she does not get hate mail because she is an atheist - she gets it because she accused her ex husband, a much loved actor, of abusing her when in fact she was the abuser. She also lied about donating millions to sick and dying children. She is a monster.

I'm a huge fan, been to one of your talks, and I've been lucky enough to meet you in person briefly. Amber Heard de-legitimizes our movement, and I'm not sure why this talk was published on UA-cam recently.
Not going to advocate censorship or you removing this video, but I think it's unfortunate that someone put this up in 2021 when it's become clear she's acted as a toxic and libelous individual.

He's supporting the Center for Inquiry, a terrific organization promoting secularism and separation of church and state. Anyone interested in "canceling" Dawkins for appearing on stage with some celebrity because of her nasty tabloid divorce or other personal issues, isn't someone worth taking seriously. I' m very glad that Dawkins isn't interested in that sort of nonsense.

From what I read in the description, this talk happened the 16th of October, 2019. Had all the controversy of Amber Heard happened yet, and Richard just ignored it? Or was this before?

This is a woman who admitted, on tape, to hitting her ex-husband; boasted about making a donation to sick children and pocketed the money; was accused of stealing a rape story to look like a victim; and is continuously harassing and intimidating JD fans and DV survivors by asking the court to give her their personal information. 😐
Of course she’s saying she’s been attacked for identifying as an atheist. No evidence of that, just like there’s no evidence of her being attacked for coming out gay, which apparently happened in 2010. She makes up these stories so she can feel important, like she’s part of the turning points in history. She mimics other people and tries to pretend she’s a pioneer of these movements that others have actually paved the way for. It’s truly embarrassing, and it’s hard to see people interact with her and take her at face value. She’s so inauthentic.
To Dawkins, the evidence of why people hate her is all over the internet. She admits to abusing her partner in audio recordings. The hate she gets is not the same as the hate an atheist gets. She’s just trying to redeem herself by seeking solidarity with people who are unjustly hated. It’s really annoying to witness.
