My eBay links usually are referral links! It means I get a tiny bit back from eBay if you purchase something from them, at no extra cost to you. All proceeds will go towards funding rare and exciting lenses for review! - Фільми й анімація
Is it me but I love the flares. Adds something to the image instead of being too clean and too accurate.
I love them too, for the amazing creative possibilities it gives! I recently was gifted the helios for my birthday and took it out last night with a Sony A77ii which was fun 😍😍😍
1979... I have one of these from 1978 too. The vintage of the photo and the colors + bokeh are gorgeous.
Thanks for this. Just ordered one to go with my Lumix GF-1 for street photography adding that bit of magic.
Enjoy it! It should be a lot of fun to use for street photography, definitely has lots of character.
Nice you're taking a closer look at the M instead of the 44-2
I actually don't understand why so many people buy a 44-2 while this one is much better built and has the aperture and focusing rings in the places we're used to.
Thanks!
44m is the one I kept out of all I tried. I wasn't very lucky 44-2s. I had very nice Cyclop 85mm 1.5 which i liked but all of the weight, size, no infinity, fiddly-tenderly adapters convinced me to sell it.
I have ordered modern biotar 58mm 1.4 by meyer-gorlitz. Now I'm exited to comapre them )
Kind regards))
I got the 44m recently, in part to this review and have to say the 44m provides a very "dreamy/nostalgic" image that looks "milky" (in a good way)
This was my very first lens back in the 80s.
Nice! Where'd you get it from?
Just bought one on Ebay with Soviet camera spares repair paid £5.00 for the both lens works perfect a lucky buy
Great find!
Qué adaptador de montaje de lente funciona en tu Nikon Z6?
I hate too much grease on my aperture petals!
The front plate was taken off for cleaning I think and maybe it has a lot of scratches now. Take the front plate off and turn it around....there you will find the answer. Sorry for my bad english and greetings from Berlin, Germany. Denis
Hello from Perth, Australia, and thanks for the comment! Good idea, I just tried to do that and got the front element off - but nothing underneath unfortunately. It looks like the very front metal ring which holds the name was taken off at one stage and never put back on.
@@SovietLensReviews No, this is the very front ring, there is no other ...I have some copys of the 44m. Now it comes to my mind, that the front ring is not engraved, only painted. The previous owner may have removed the letters by cleaning the front ring with alcohol. It happens easy with this model. Then the letters disappears. Same happened to me ☝🏻😔.
Greetings to you and I am looking forward for your new videos! Denis
i am sorry, what do u use as an adapter for this lens on digital cameras? im not too sure and i don't want to do a mess, i have a alpha 6000 so i suppose is the sony E mount but for what concern the other part, the lens part, what should i buy for this lens? thank you very much
Hi! I use an M42 to Nikon Z adapter, but you would use an M42 -> Sony E adapter. You should buy this one or one similar: ebay.us/1Dzi6z
@@SovietLensReviews ok thank you very much!
Helios is the Kalashnikov among lenses.
The reason why your sample is not marked in the front may be precisely because your sample was not coated.
Можно было бы сравнить "мс гелиос 44м" и "гелиос 44м" (без просветления)
Who buy a Helios 44-M looking for sharpness????
I always have mine set at f/2 i want f..... Up funny pictures, otherwise I will use a modern lens.
There's sharpness and resolution. No-one is buying a Helios 44-M for its massive resolving power, but at the end of the day, you still want the centre of your frame to look sharp, even if you're going for the 'vintage' look.
