I agree. I was about to give up on the idea but this video makes it seem doable. Thank you for addressing lefties. I watched too many videos an you're the first person to mention how a left handed person may work the stitches.

When you said at the start that this was for people who knew nothing about cross stitch I was like "perfect!" I didn't even know the tread was called floss LOL. So this was perfect for me. You explained everything thoroughly and slowly so I found it easy to understand and keep up. I also appreciate you saying the "proper" way and your way. With all crafts it's great to know the correct method but we all know we do things our own way and often that is better for us so I like to see both ways. You did a great job. Thanks very much.

Does it matter which direction your x's go? On counted, I do top left to right bottom, then top right down to bottom left. Is that ok?

Thanks for leaving the flub in, actually. My mind wandered at the wrong time and then I got what the end result was going to be but because you went back and did it again (instead of just editing the flub out) I grasped it right away the second time. You eased my brain into it and I appreciate it!

For someone who's never cross stitched before (or any needlework besides a hem) I appreciate you being real about the "textbook" stuff and not a cross stitch snob. Coming back 11 months later. I've started my own. Maybe a little bigger than I should have started with, but I got excited by my pattern, which is a spring scene with an English cottage. One stitch at a time. I did start out with the 'loop technique' but switched to making knots on the bottom of my thread, works better for me personally. But I do use a hoop still, which helped with working but also doing the pattern in stages. Helps with my motivation. Thanks again so much for this tutorial. I love working on my pattern! 🙂

I just started a pattern using 40 count linen and OMG! No WAY am I going to be able to see to enjoy doing that thing! I know what you mean about the bulkiness of a hoop with the stiff Aida but I’ve found that it really softens up as you start working with it. Happy stitching!

Thanks so much for this video. I really liked your tip about when you have to use two threads/floss, I'm definitely going to remember that and use it. I've done cross-stitch before, but always the counted cross-stitch. I just ordered my first stamped one & was wondering if it was the same or not. For the 11 count one (which is what I'm going to be doing), should I soak that when I'm done with my project as well? If so, should the water be hot or warm or what? Should I let it just dry overnight? Do I need to add soap when I soak it? Thanks so much for your help and I found this very helpful 😊

I have cross stitch before, but never had done a stamped one. So since I have gotten older I like the stamped ones a lot. Much easier, thank you, thank you 😊 ❤❤

Do you finish off on each row even if it’s the same color? Or do you go back to the other side as if your stitching left handed

I tried tapestry! Had a hard time manipulating that big stiff canvas. I would love to finish the one I started but I don’t know if it’s something I would get really into. I wish you the best of luck/. And no, you’re not crazy! Look at who you’re talking to….the more crafts the better!
