    I feel like the G4 cuts though a mix for lead but the G3 blends into a mix. Most people say they like the g3 for lead but I don’t. I have both. From blues to hard Rock and even metal I prefer the G4 but I guess if you wanted a straight up pedal for metal you could go with the G3 and be happy. They’re both great though. If I could only have one it’d be the G4

    Same thing happens with my Prs Mt-15 amp: it's a chamaleon (guitar depending).
    So by principle this revv could be next on my list :D

    Wich is better for a Fender style Amp like Princeton or Deluxe Reverb ? G3 or g4 ?

    • @emartinezr
      @emartinezr 8 місяців тому +1

      It depends what kind of music you want to play with it and what tone you're looking for. G3 has a more processed and tigth sound. More focused mids and tight low end. The G4 is more transparent, heavier and big sounding with less prominent mids. I think you can get a G3 tone from a G4, but you can't get the G3 to sound like the G4.

    So, would this work well into the front of a Blues Junior iv (no loop) or are they just worlds apart? Not looking to pay metal, but classic /hard rock and punk stuff unless the Revv is just too high gain?

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  4 роки тому

      Riversider11 I tried it and it went from Fender clean to metal right away. Haha! If you want classic rock / punk go for the G2. It covers a lot of sounds and most versatile out of the three Revv pedals. Check out my G2 video for some inspiration and sounds. Cheers!

    • @KrisBarocsi

      Chris Jeneson thanks dude! It used to be a really cheap guitar (you guess the brand, haha!”) and I modified the hell out of it. I can do a “my guitars in details” series at one point if you guys are interested. Most are seriously modified. 😉

    • @chrisjeneson5091
      @chrisjeneson5091 5 років тому

      Well, well done, it really looks the business. I´m surprised they got away with the headstock, I think the beak on the Explorer and the Nose cone on the Vee´s are really cool!

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  5 років тому

      Chris Jeneson They obviously didn’t get away with it, the model had been discontinued shortly after hitting the market. Ha ha! I happened to find one with a very good unplugged sound, took it apart and refinished / rebuilt it with quality parts.

    • @chrisjeneson5091
      @chrisjeneson5091 5 років тому

      It is a shame about the beak but I suppose you can see Gibson´s point of view. Jackson does something similar but it still does not have the grace of the beak in my humble opinion. I recently bought a Vee from HB, the cheaper one as I have never played that style before, Man, that is a seriously good instrument, well made and balanced, it is a shame that the headstock had to be changed on that as well. I liked the Vee so much I have now bought the Epiphone version, only for the headstock! Crazy eh! I would like to see your guitars in detail if you get the time some day, you must be tired after a days work at Thomann. Anyway, well done and I will continue to take a big interest in your young channel.

    i usually hear people say the g3 has a tighter sound than the g4..is the g4 tight enough to be able to sound really good? i have no idea how "tight tone" means ive never used a really good sounding distortion..please help me decide which should i choose, i like the more aggressive sound of the g4 but i want that "tight tone" great guitarists love..thanks.. :)

    • @KrisBarocsi

      Jeff Cobain Hey Jeff, I really think you should go for the G3. That’s REVVs modern and tight high gain drive pedal. I enjoy the G4 for BIG rock / metal sounds, it’s a little less tight than the G3 though. Cheers!

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  5 років тому

      Mettalyß hey man, which amp do you use the G4 with? Did you connect the pedal in front of the amp, or in the FX loop? These are the most important things to know to find the problem.
      The tuning is not an issue. I use it with standard E, drop D, drop C#, standard B and it all works. The EQ knobs are very effective, you have to be careful with them. Have you tried my settings?

    • @soockamasook2001
      @soockamasook2001 5 років тому

      @@KrisBarocsi thanks gor answering, I don't actually know the different, i'm a beginner in this domain, which one's better ?

    • @KrisBarocsi
      @KrisBarocsi  5 років тому

      Mettalyß there’s no better or worse. If you plug your guitar and the G4 in the fx loop return the pedal will act as your preamp. It’s a different sound and some prefer that, for a good reason. Try it out if your amp has an fx loop.
      Something else: not every amp sounds good with pedals. Mostly solid state (transistor) amps, and some Fender tube amps sound too fizzy / weird with gain pedals. That’s also important to know, and in that case the pedal is not the issue. It’s the amp. You need an amp with a good and full sounding clean channel to make distortion pedals sound good. Cheers man!
