MLB needs to deal with this situation quickly by instituting an investigation by a committee of former players and coaches and headed up by someone like Joe Torre or Bobby Cox; someone with an impeccable record in baseball. Give them three months to conduct their investigation. Whatever this committee decides, MLB needs to go with it. MLB needs to move on from the management style of Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis who handed out fines and penalties with impunity and without any real consultation from others. I understand that Judge Landis was both an attorney and Jurist in the Federal Courts, but the days are past when the commissioner's office should have this kind of power.

How did anyone hear the trash can. It seems to me the investigation will be difficult with out inside witnesses. They’ll have to prove someone could hear the tip-off fast enough to make a decision about committing to a swing. From the footage I seen it’s trash can to home run in less than a second. That’s not a lot of time. Maybe if witnesses are hard to find, reenact the "crime".?

How did this take 2 years to come out? The excuse that the league can’t keep up with technology is garbage. It’s the league’s responsibility to oversee the play on the field. Just like the NFL did with the Patriots, the MLB looked the other way in order to get a good story out of the Astros winning the WS. No one will convince me that not one umpire noticed or any league personnel overseeing the game didn’t catch on.

Not going to happen with today's security and personnel at any game. Fans will be removed from the stadium. Someone was behind the dugout within range of the batters box giving a hint to the batters, banging something what exactly we wont know. It had to be someone working for the Astros though, hitting coach, office member, player, trainer, whoever it was it had to be a staff member.
