@@joeman2899 As Dan pointed out that ain't gonna work. Everyone in that dugout would have investigated why there was banging going on in the dugout tunnel. Everyone may not have participated but they all knew.
@@joeman2899 I dont think any one person is to blame. However I still think hinch should b fired. Along with heavy fines and maybe an entire shakedown of the staff.
Lost all respect I’ll never look at the astros the same I hope the league drop the hammer so hard that it takes years for them to recover they ruined the reputation of the mlb and should pay big time
exactly right ...... that's what the nba did to the minnesota t'wolves when they got busted of doing a secret deal with joe smith during the 90's, stripped them with 3 or 4 1st round picks ......
It's literally impossible for it to be a one person scam...you need several people for it to even work. Players were all in on it too as they were happy to use it to their advantage on the field. The person reading the screen with the video was literally a few feet behind the dugout where the players and coaches regularly go to...the entire team plus personnel were involved.
How did the Astros think this would not get out? Players come and go and somebody was bound to tell his new team what was going on. Iam amazed it took this long to come out.
As an Astros fan this sucks and if indeed the MLB finds this out to be true then they should fire Hinch because he already messed up and pissed me off that he cost us the World Series by not bringing in Cole in game 7
How the hell would Hinch not know is Verducci stupid. This seems like a deflate gate type thing it is more probable than not that hinch knew about and deserves a severe punishment.
Astros had a terrible home record in 2017. They won the 2017 World Series in L.A. Did they have cameras installed there? They lost every home game of the 2019 World Series. If they were cheating, they weren't doing a very good job.
1. Strip both titles AL & WS. 2. Force owner to sell team. 3. Fire all staff/management involved. 4. Ban all players from the hall of fame. 5. Impose new rules. 6. No TV screens in the dugout. 7. No Personal Cell phones or Electronics during the game(only applies to players and coaches). 8. Cheating fines increased and possible ban from the League. 9. No live feed of the catcher giving the sign to the pitcher. 10. Take away all draft picks for the number of years proven of cheating. 11. Do whatever it takes to prevent cheating.
MLB needs to deal with this situation quickly by instituting an investigation by a committee of former players and coaches and headed up by someone like Joe Torre or Bobby Cox; someone with an impeccable record in baseball. Give them three months to conduct their investigation. Whatever this committee decides, MLB needs to go with it. MLB needs to move on from the management style of Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis who handed out fines and penalties with impunity and without any real consultation from others. I understand that Judge Landis was both an attorney and Jurist in the Federal Courts, but the days are past when the commissioner's office should have this kind of power.
How did anyone hear the trash can. It seems to me the investigation will be difficult with out inside witnesses. They’ll have to prove someone could hear the tip-off fast enough to make a decision about committing to a swing. From the footage I seen it’s trash can to home run in less than a second. That’s not a lot of time. Maybe if witnesses are hard to find, reenact the "crime".?
How would the whole team not know about it? They had to know the bang-count to know what kind of pitch was being thrown 0 - FB 1 - Slider 2 - Changeup No fucking shit Hinch knew. Every batter knew.
they just need to be more clear at in the major league rules they need to clearly spell out if you get caught stealing signs with an electronic device this is the punishment make it clear you will lose your penant..just make it clear that's all you need to do and quit making it a drama Dan you doing a great job there shows all over the place turning into a drama like you wouldn't believe
How did this take 2 years to come out? The excuse that the league can’t keep up with technology is garbage. It’s the league’s responsibility to oversee the play on the field. Just like the NFL did with the Patriots, the MLB looked the other way in order to get a good story out of the Astros winning the WS. No one will convince me that not one umpire noticed or any league personnel overseeing the game didn’t catch on.
I really feel bad for all hese Astros players, bc many of them are gonna have to apply for workers compensation when they retire for loss of hearing from these loud trashcans... or maybe Post Traumstic Stress Syndrome? Unbelievable
The arrogance of Hinch...Whenever he was asked about these things? I wont speak about series we have already won! LIFETIME ban! They can hang out with Pet Rose

Take away their ring. If you cheated to get that ring why do you deserve it? Any franchise that's never won before will then cheat if the punishment means you get to keep your rings. Take away rings and GUARANTEE you that no one will cheat knowing the ring will get taken away.
Verducci is losing credibility with every word. Of course the whole organization knew about it and deserves to be punished. Get from under the desk Tom.
Utter bullshit Tom, no way Hinch didn’t know about this... yeah I’m believing the pitchers and players knew, but the manager of the team, that sits in the same dugout, 20ft from the clubhouse tunnel, had no idea. Give me a break...
Who’s to say that wasn’t someone in the stands catching the signs watching the game, and slamming a seat down twice in an empty stadium? It seems there are plenty of hometown fans who would be willing and capable of doing that. Pro ball players could come up with a much more clever signal, if indeed they are watching on a tablet in the dugout. Right?

Yeeeees. Hinch definitely knew. There's no way anybody who was in that dugout didnt know. Unfortunately as a bregman fan, that means him too
Verducci got nervous, if it happen Aj knew about it, it kind of feels like they want to pin it on someone particular but obviously not the manager.
